A report that Chelsea are ready to offload Fernando Torres for £20m in the January transfer window has fueled speculation that the Spaniard could return to Anfield.
Torres, 27, was sold to Chelsea by Liverpool on the final day of last season's January window. Since then he has managed just three league goals for the London side.
'El Nino' left Liverpool under a huge cloud after an 18-month spell that saw him fall from goalscoring hero to moaning and misfiring. That period though did coincide with the worst era in LFC's history with the ownership issue placing the whole club under a very dark cloud.
Of course, when Luis Suarez was first scouted the intention was to play him alongside Torres – likely with Suarez on the left of the 3 attackers behind the front man. Torres' departure and his replacement, Andy Carroll's, failure to settle at the club has led to Suarez being the front forward but Liverpool are currently the club with the worst conversion rate in the Premier League. Could an out-and-out goalscorer solve these problems?
Perhaps key to any potential return to Anfield will be Dalglish's opinion on the Spaniard. The two had a strong relationship during the height of El Nino Fever.
But Torres' departure also saw many reports suggesting problems he caused between players. Various reports told how the squad was now more united following his sale.
Torres' relationship with captain Steven Gerrard appeared to have waned in those final months. But is that irreparable?
Dalglish is no stranger to bringing back former star strikers. Ian Rush returned from Juventus after just one season away, albeit under different circumstances.
The only other question would be whether FSG would be prepared to spend £20m on a 27-year-old? Although, in a roundabout way the deal would signal a £30m profit.
If you were to envisage a Liverpool team with an in-form Torres back leading the line, with Suarez, Gerrard and Maxi/Kuyt/Bellamy behind him creating the chances – would you take him back?
Never say never but very doubful Torres will only be in Liverpool colours in re-runs of old matches what does it take to understand this?

That rumour was out ages ago...
I will say it, never
He does look like he is getting better but he could have as much luck as andy carrol is having at the moment plus many fans would hate LFC if he returned...He said bad things and continued to dig a hole...He will not come back
MJ
Torres never deserves to wear the liverbird on his chest agin.....I'd puke if he played for LFC again.
A complete w**ker in my eyes
Would love to see torres back but dont think the board would buy him back
No thanks, i'll take cavani (jokes, i know it won't really happen)
