Hey lads I'm just wondering if there is any signs that Matip or any other cb might be a vocal leader in our defence like a Jamie C or a John Terry. An organiser who makes sure everyone is where they should be during matches. I think we are missing this in our players and we need someone who the other players have a fear of if they don't do their job right. A fear of a bollocking goes a long way sometimes and gets everyone to lift their game.

I would hope Sakho and Lovren are both leaders.

Lovren was signed for that reason, and Sakho captained PSG as a teenager.

2.) 16 Jul 2016 11:43:37
in the absence of any vocal defenders then the keeper should certainly step up.

3.) 16 Jul 2016 12:29:29
Karius seems to have the right attitude to help be a voice at the back.

4.) 16 Jul 2016 12:22:08
I guess Lovren is in the time of his career where he should be looking to establish himself as a prominent CB. He should be organizing as it stands.

5.) 16 Jul 2016 13:51:40
I've not seen sakho or lovren take on this role as yet. Maybe karius might be a more vocal keeper but I still think one of the cb should take on this role. is believe one of the defenders should be strong enough within the group to be vocal and make the others aware of what's going on around them. Moreno for one would benefit from a leader beside him who's not afraid to dish out a bollocking when it's needed to try help his positioning. Far too often we have been caught out with players in wrong positions or making wrong decisions at key parts of a match. It just seems these type of personalitys are a dying breed at the top level.

6.) 16 Jul 2016 17:58:43
They're a dying breed because players of today don't wanna take responsibility for anything but want the credit for everything. We need defenders who not only talk the talk but walk the walk, they can be leaders by example. Sahko,
Lovre and Matip are experienced defenders who need to step up, be accountable and hold others accountable as well. Klopp must take the lead here, IMO.

Hi ed's I've got 2 questions for you. First of all do you think yesil will make the step up to the first team next season or does he need more time after his injuries
And 2nd is what can you tell me about Mike Gordon?
Thanks

Donegal.red

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what the plans are for Yesil. I am not going to get in to discussing the owners.}

1.) 26 May 2015 23:08:15
Thanks for that ed but what I was meaning is do you think Yesil is good enough to make it as a first team player. I see he scored a couple since his return from injury.

{Ed002's Note - He has done well when fit and much has always been expected. It is hard to see a chance coming at Liverpool though.}

Hi ed's can I ask if all the info that gets leaked to the press about lfc comes from Rodgers or is there more sources from within the club leaking info. It seems that everyday there is a larger portion of stories about lfc all over the media compared to other clubs. Most other clubs only make the headlines after their business is done while ours comes out at every stage of the process. If Rodgers gets his p45, will it lead to a complete clear out of management staff because there has to be more than him with a big mouth?
Thanks

Donegal.red

{Ed001's Note - most staff members at the club have it written within their contract not to reveal anything about club business.}

1.) 23 May 2015 09:25:12
Yes ed thanks for the reply. That maybe so but there does seem to be a culture of speaking to the media from within the current set up weather they are permitted to or not by their contracts. If a new manager does come in he's going to have to deal with it as well without a big clear out. A lot to be said for keeping things private until the time is right to release info.

{Ed001's Note - no there is not, very few people are talking to the media, other than the manager and players. The staff are quiet.}

2.) 23 May 2015 09:47:20
ed001,there seems to be plenty of ex players/managers who are doing a lot of talking,they are close to the club and i think it would be naive to suggest they aren't being kept up to date by friends/colleagues inside the club

{Ed001's Note - if you say so.}

3.) 23 May 2015 10:31:19
Not everything the media prints is from a source. They make 70% of it up.

4.) 23 May 2015 11:19:54
Thanks for that ed. Enjoy the last weekend of the season before the madness of the transfer window. Let's hope things change over the summer for the better

5.) 23 May 2015 12:28:26
Having a family member who works as part of the office admin and another who is a contractor providing services to some of the players, I can say that from where I stand, information is far more heavily protected now and the amount of tittle-tattle that leaks has dropped dramatically since FSG took over. Therefore who ever is feeding the press is doing it deliberately for a reason best known to themselves.

{Ed002's Note - It is easy to find out information about most clubs. Liverpool has a DF of a manager who is more than happy to discuss club issues in public.}

6.) 23 May 2015 13:13:19
If you wanna know what's going on at the club, watch a BR presser and you'll find out. He is the reason we all know about the nature of the negotiations of RS's contract talks.

Hey ed's I've just got a question about Adam Morgan. What's the story with him now? Do you think he's going to make it to regular first team standard or will he be sold on? Not heard much about him for a while. Thanks

And let's hope donegal can raise their game to last years standards tomorrow in the all Ireland quarterfinal against mayo! {Ed001's Note - he struggled out on loan, he really needs another loan where he will get regular first team football to assess him properly.}

Won't it be great to see Robbie in a red shirt again today. Just wish he was 20 again.

Most Gaelic footballers these days don't go on the lash during playing season and if they do it's completely out of the limelight and they are all amitures( not payed) and most are fitter and more dedicated than any pro footballer. He should have more sense he's a lucky young man to be in the position he's in .

Has to be sir Bob as he won 3 European cups when it was a lot harder to win. Closely followed by clough and then Neil Warnock in third.

Surely the next step is to go order pints in the pub and pay for them and leave without drinking them . That'll show the publicans and bring the price down!
