Lots of rumours tonight saying he wants Liverpool job and 3 year deal agreed…. probably bull but seems it’s hotting up atleast. He impresses me to be fair, it would have loved Alonso still. Who would you have chosen Ed’s?

Magico mate. For me it was between Alonso and Amorim. Both are great young managers and are destined for greatness. But Alonso was my first choice more so on the sentimental side.
But if you take the sentiment aside, Amorim has more experience than Alonso. And whilst only turning 39 years old in January, he has already won major honours over in Portugal. If we can get the deal done for Amorim, a lot of our fans will soon see how special he is.

Hopefully Alonso, have to say i didn't really know him until we were linked with him. Seems to have done a great job at Sporting.

@Jude Nkunku - Yeah mate, he has done a great job thus far.
One thing we do know though is the Premier League is a different beast. But I’m confident Amorim will do a great job for us if/ when he joins us.

Arne slot? Feyernord manager? After seeing ten Haag I’d stay away from managers from that league lol, however not saying the Portuguese is any better. So who knows.

I don’t think the league in which they manage is a factor so much, if it’s a major league. For feyenoord they only won the league for 2nd time in 20 odd years and got to the conference league final. that's still hard to do, and needs a top manager.

I don't know anything about Amorim. In fact I had never heard of him before our search for a new manager got underway.
All I will say is I hope he is better than the last 39 year old manager we had, who had also had success in a different league.
That is if he ends up at LFC.

Will fit us as good if not better than Alonso, especially with the players we have, I put on here a while ago that he would be my choice along with Alonso, both on a par, a different way of playing will re invigorate the squad too, personally would look to sell Salah while he has the value and bring in ball playing CB and more of a central goalscorer, the way Amorim plays Jota, Nunez and Diaz, and definitely Elliott could all play RW, we need a goalscorer more than a Salah replacement.

think it was Alonso being an ex Liverpool player, and him having such a brilliant season had all LFC fans calling for him . but Amorim def has a lot more experience and won a lot more, so I will be very happy if or when he arrives .

KBL you confused me when you said success in a different league, as Rodgers won nowt prior to joining us, whereas Souness was successfull in a different league before setting us back by a decade.

Souness was a success when Rangers went absolutely mad with their spending
It was when English clubs were banned from European competition and a fair few players headed north over the border, including Souness who was Rangers player manager from ‘86 to ‘91
The season before Souness took over they had one non-Scottish player make an appearance

Whoever comes in will need time and support to follow the absolute legend Klopp is. It will take at least a season to adapt properly to a new style and formation and compete with it at the highest level. Very much looking forward to seeing how we attack with a back 3 though. A back 3 with wingbacks has always been my preferred way of playing and I think it will suit us really well.

Rodgers had very little in the way of success KBL. He only had success in Scotland after leaving us.
