For ED02 please; you noted previously that LFC would possibly look to one of Kone and K Thuram for midfield. It appears we've made contact with the agents of both. Are we now looking to buy both would you think or just working through the coatings of a possible transfer package with both to ultimately end up pushing for one of them? Thanks for your insights, it's really great to get some information from someone that understands and sees all aspects of football and it's dealings. Thank you.

{Ed002's Note - It makes no sense to sign both playerds as it would make the midfield unbalanced. It would be better to focus on one and then look to a Gravenberch or similar player.}

I really like veiga of what little I’ve seen of him. Needs to bulk a bit but I think there’s a player there. I can’t comment on thuram or kone, get the one that’s got the best back four screening qualities.

I would genuinely sell Carvalho and Elliot to fund another couple of midfield additions. If we can get young players more suited to how we want play then no point keeping Elliot and Carvalho for potential when they will not fit how we want to play under Klopp. Neither are quick enough to play on the wing either so we may as well just take the money and invest it.
Could argue the same for Jones but I personally rate him higher than Elliot so would keep.

BrummyRed, we'd be in big trouble with the HG quota if we sold Elliot and Carvalho after losing Milner and Oxlade. Not sure if Phillips is going either or staying put.

Brummyred, selling future potential to fund an immediate impact first-teamer is what Chelsea did with Kevin de Bruyne. Oh, and Salah.

{Ed002's Note - No, that was not the case.}

Stoneage elliot will never be KDB. we would be replacing with someone similar in age who is ahead in their development and suits our system better. Only reason imo worth keeping these types of players would be as above poster mentioned for homegrown quota.

I think people misunderstand what the homegrown quota is actually about. It just means that in the 25-man squad that we register league, 8 spots are reserved for HG players and only 17 can be non-HG. We are under no obligation to fill up the 8 HG spots. If we want to, we can go into the season with only 17 non-HG players and 0 HG ones. Besides, I think Carvalho and Elliot need not be registered yet as they are under 21 years of age so they do not affect the HG spots yet.
