I would think that either Jones or Grav are at risk of being sacrificed if a new midfield player is being brought in. I would like to see how Baj gets on though. Rotating game time between him and Endo seems ideal to me. Endo hasn't done too badly and although he isn't on the same level as prime Fabinho, he still makes us much more solid in the centre of the field.

Maybe he hasn't completed his coaching qualifications yet so he can't be registered as a coach?

Dracred

{Ed001's Note - and we would then have to sign another 3rd choice keeper. Why would we want to register him as a coach and not a player?}

My apologies Ed, didn't know that his posts get abusive. In that case, I take back what I said. Being passionate should never cross the line to being abusive and if it has, it is right that it isn't voiced out in the first place.

I don't think VV is a troll though. He's just an extremely passionate fan, especially when it comes to transfers. I don't agree with a lot of his views but that doesn't mean he can't voice them out. At the very least, he is consistent with what he has been saying.

{Ed002's Note - His more abusive posts simply get deleted.}

If you purely want to look at numbers, Wiji had 22 goals and 16 assists in all competitions throughout his time with us. Jones is currently at 16 goals and 14 assists. So his numbers aren't that different when compared to Wiji, especially when you consider that he was much younger and was still developing when he first broke into our team.

Btw, I'm not trying to diss Wiji or anything like that. Just wanted to show that there is more to the game than just numbers.

Mainoo is a great player though. Full of work rate and has good technique to boot. If he were a Liverpool player, we would all be saying that he's the reason why we didn't get Bellingham.

I wouldn't mind Garnacho from this current Utd team as well. Has a very punchable face but is fast, direct, and a hard worker.

Dracred

{Ed001's Note - Garnacho? Not for me, I am not convinced by him at all. Love his work rate but his actual play is mostly poor. I prefer Amad Diallo of their widemen, not sure why he never got the same chances.}

I'm with WYred and MK Scouser on this. Salah seems to start of well before tailing off, usually after coming back from Afcon. The season that just past, he even had an injury that he came back from and yet, he still ended up as our top scorer and had a decent number of assists as well. He was on fire before going for Afcon and many of us here, myself included, were commenting on how he has adjusted his game to prolong his career. True, he does not have his pace anymore but I do feel he still has something to offer.

The same goes for VVD. Before our slump in April, most of us were commenting how he is back to his best and how he is arguably the best CB in the league. He was not as imperious as he was before his injury but he is still a very good CB and I think he has more to offer as well.

I think we are forgetting how poor the team was in April and that has impacted our view of our players. It is true that we literally threw away three competitions in that one month and there could be many reasons for that happening. But on the flipside, these players are also the ones who got us to April in the first place, still believing in the quadruple. We got to that point because of VVD, Salah, Allison, and everyone else in the team, not in spite of them. So if Salah and VVD wants to stay on in the team, I am more than happy with that. I would not be showing them the door.

Just wanted to add as well that this "hand to mouth" model doesn't seem to be true in recent years. Who did we sell to fund the summer transfers of Mac, Grav, and Szobo. Those three are already in excess of 100m. And that is not to mention that we made a bid of over 100m for Caicedo. I don't think we need to sell the exact amount that we need to buy players at. We have shown that if we want the player, we would do what we can within reason to get him in.

Ole managed to land the Utd job with less qualifications and experience than you, MK. So I would say you're good to go ??.

Wasn't there also Fabio and Rafael? I mean, they weren't any good but they're standards were quite similar to each other and they did technically play at the top level together.
