Carvalho does have the quality but I feel he doesn't work hard enough nor does he feel like a player who is willing to fight for his place. He struggled here and at RBL because of competition for places and flourished at places where he was the main man. He's still young though so there's still time for him to turn things around.

I don't think the above constitutes as whipping Macca. Almost everyone, including Ed025, acknowledges that he has all the qualities to be a top midfielder but he's wasting it with his play acting and whining. Which, I think, is a reasonably fair assessment. If he cuts that out, he will be a far better player, like he was for a while last season and during the second half of the Brighton match.

I don't think top players leaving top clubs on a free is as rare an occurrence as we like to think since both Messi and Mbappe left on free transfers away from Barcelona and PSG respectively.
But to have three top players leave the same club at the same time on free transfers is unprecedented.

I'm slightly disappointed in you Salah. I thought you of all people would be able to understand where the other posters are coming from. It's nothing to do with freedom of speech but rather to be aware of how certain topics are sensitive to other fanbases. I don't think Zed meant anything malicious by his initial post but your post is quite tactless. We don't want rival fans to making references to disasters that happened in our club's history so we shouldn't do the same to theirs either.

It was Clyne that TAA replaced, not Johnson.
Allison is the best keeper in the world but his fitness is an issue. He misses too many games as a GK for my liking. Maybe it is his style of play but we need to look to address it soon.

It is horrendous in SEA though. Champions League kick-offs are usually at 3am or 4am here. The waking up early is bad enough but it's the fact that by the time the game ends, we'd need to already get ready for work is the worst.

The reasoning they have for the penalty was that contact may have started outside the box but they weren't certain if it continued until inside the box. So they didn't overturn the decision by the onfield ref.
Tbh, I wasn't sure if this is an actual ruling tbh. But no doubt the mistake was Robertson's. There was no need to lunge in there. Should have just slowed him down and ushered him out wide while the rest of the defence recovers.

Does Isak have work rate issues? I thought he always puts a shift in when he plays. Granted, I don't watch Newcastle play all that often and I don't keep up with their players all that much anyway.
{Ed077's Note - He's tall, lanky and silky, Glides on the pitch and looks effortless when in full flow. People, English media, think if you look silky then you're not putting an effort in. They need players to run around, almost like a headless chicken to be labeled as "hardworking". Kinda similar to Ozil. Only huff and puff counts as putting and effort in for most? ?
