Not much else to be said about last night, disappointing but pens is a lottery, although the two pens that lost it for us were garbage and taken by the two players who played the worst on the night.

While origi only played about a third of the game, he contributed very little once again. We were playing well before he came on, after he came on the chances dried up. He was awful against Lincoln last week and i really do think his time his up now. He needs regular game time to kick on and his performances suggest he is fed up, as i think the fans are a little bit. I think he should go now and preserve his legend before it goes the other way and becomes a bit negative whenever he makes an appearance.

Wilson, while played out of position, was absolutely terrible. I felt sorry for him as i believe he is a red, and it can’t be fun knowing you’ve played badly on your first and maybe final game for the club, but he did so little and hid so much it was ridiculous. I firmly believe if we had another midfielder playing in place of him we’d have won the game, it felt like playing with 10 men at times. To me it feels as though Klopps choice to try and put people in the shop window (while going well in the case of Grujic and Shaqiri) has backfired and got us knocked out, albeit it could have been a different game had Shaqiri and Tsimikas been available.

There were plenty of positives though, with Minamino and Jota going from strength to strength and looking fantastic acquisitions, and Rhys Williams and Neco stepping up incredibly well after a horror show last week, couldn't be more proud of them. Not the end of the world we got knocked out by such a negative team that offered very little once again, just unfortunate and it will catch up to Arsenal eventually. A ressie side tie against City would have been special though : (.

I felt the same AW.

I didn’t know what to think of Origi’s performance. He didn’t seem very mobile which was strange, reminded me of Ballotelli’s movement (which is harsh I know) . I love origi aswell 😭 and he will always be a legend for number 6.

Wilson was poor aswell. I hoped for more from him. Sure he is gutted aswell.

Arsenal had a more experienced side out and that seemed to tell in midfield. I thought we could have won this competition aswell. Onto the bigger competitions I suppose.

The winners of the FA cup get £1.8m prize money. Not a massive amount and not even as much as one Champions League group stage win. It's worth it for the teams that want to give it a good go.

The winners of the Carabao Cup get £100,000. I know it's nice to win it, but is it really risking hundreds of millions worth of talent getting fatigued or injured for?

I'm not saying Klopp didn't want to win it. If he didn't, he wouldn't have started Salah and Virgil. Surely, from a financial risk point of view though, surely the board would rather we weren't in it.

Hiding during a game is probably the worst accusation you can make of a player but it was possibly accurate in Wilson's case. It's likely related to a lack of confidence but it still frustrates me more than anything else.

I've seen less talented players at Fratton Park over the years but if they gave everything the crowd loved em. If you can't do that for LFC 1st team under Klopp at Anfield then it's a sad day.

Makes me wonder if he knows he's going no matter what he played like.

While he might be "fed up" he and LFC don't look to be pushing for split just yet.

Agreed on Wilson but Minamino was also very poor.

Minamino was terrible in my opinion, give away the ball constantly. However the younger reds played well and that's what's important in these games. Thought grujic was impressive, pity there does not seem to be room for him.

I’m not sure what game you lot were watching but perhaps save your ire for Arteta and his 5-5-0 formation.
Like watching paint dry. We had enough chances to put it to bed in normal time but credit to Leno.

Epic potatoe, it’s still classed as a major trophy. Me personally I’d like us to go out and try and win every competition we enter. Barring wilson I thought klopp put a decent side out and we were unlucky to go out on penalties. rubbish happens but I’d of been a little more deflated if we’d of put a full team of kids out.
