Quick question to the Eds as to how much we will miss Gini.

His performances and availability on the pitch is known, but was he seen as one of the leaders in the dressing room?

Who are the dressing room leaders? I'm guessing Hendo, Milly, Virgil? I hear Adrian is quite an influence and leader too? Who else?

I'd be really interested to understand that dressing room dynamic a bit more.

{Ed001's Note - Robbo is a big voice in there, Matip is too which probably explains Klopp's willingness to put up with the constant injuries. Off the top of my head I would say those you listed plus these 2.}

Interesting, thanks Ed001 - certainly helps understand why Klopp keeps Matip despite the availability issues.

How about Gini? Was he one of the leaders too?

{Ed001's Note - he was like Lovren, a big presence, so yes.}

Ed1. Matip appears to be a very funny and intriguing character from the outside looking in. He also talks like Klaus from American Dad, which is always a plus.

{Ed001's Note - I am going to pretend I know who that is.}

I got the impression things were a little cool shall we say between Wijnaldum and Henderson, just going off their reactions to each other?
Hendo usually tweets a fond farewell to departing teammates but I didn’t see him send anything out for Gini, certainly nothing as effusive as he did for Lovren?
On the other hand I could be talking utter xxxx but I’ve been wondering if the captain has had some influence in matters.

Do teams actually keep hold of players because they are a bit of a character in the dressing room?
For £100k a week you could hire Jimmy Carr to tell jokes at half time every match day lol.

{Ed001's Note - yes, when Arsenal were still winning trophies under Wenger he kept Eboue, among others, simply because they were big characters in the dressing room. When you need to dig in after setbacks, you need people that have character, as they get people out of the funk they often end up in when the season is going badly. We needed the likes of Lovren last season, he may not be everyone's cup of tea but he is not one to give up and his enthusiasm is infectious.}

Anyone surprised by matip as a big influence. I wouldn't have expected him as so much of a talker. probably time for new people to step up. Perhaps Allison, trent or someone else?

{Ed001's Note - you don't have to be a big talker to be an influence. Bob Paisley was not a big talker, but he is probably the most influential man in the history of Liverpool FC.}
