Eds with the squads as they are (obviously Chelsea most likely to sign Lukaku and some additions here and there throughout the league) would you entertain us with your top 4 predictions?

{Ed002's Note - I would think something like Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United. A couple of sides will I think improve like Aston Villa and Crystal Palace but it is hard to see too much change.}

Is it a foregone conclusion city will win it?

Will United make more of a contest of it?

Chelsea’s Signings from last season surely have to do better.

Then we have ourselves. Pretty much the same squad. Defensively I expect us to be pretty much solid. Midfield, Thiago fabs and Hendo, not sure how many miles are left in those legs, could be wrong, then our forwards, I see Jota has made more of an impact as a sub. who knows.

Don’t see any new signing bar Saul making a huge impact.

{Ed002's Note - I think all four sides will see it as a tough contest.}

Ed2 while your in good form, in regards to Saul, can I start holding my breath or is there any point?

{Ed002's Note - There have been discussions between his representatives with three clubs in England and a further direct conversation between his club and Barcelona. There is no decision that I know of.}

I think Werner is going to have a better season this year (12 goals 15 assists and he was a flop) and if he has Lukaku up there with him it’ll be a platform for him so I think Chelsea will run City closer than Utd and so will we. I agree on Villa Ed’s I think Grealish leaving and the players they have brought in might actually make them a better team. I think Jota and Thiago are going to have big seasons for us this year and Mane will be back to his best. It’s a huge hope but I’m wanting Kieta to also have a good season and turn the doubters into believers. Leicester, Arsenal and Spurs have all made decent signings but I think them and Everton will all be outside the top 4 race battling for 5-8th. Brentford might do a Leeds as they play some attacking exciting football and my money is on Norwich to finish bottom again.

So I’m speculating here Ed’s, maybe we will have something to be happy about soon? (Maybe Saul signing) .

{Ed002's Note - It is late at night, you have been to the chip shop and seen that lovely girl, now you are home alone and you can think a little more about her - sure you will soon have something to be happy about.}

Ha ha Ed’s, you’ve hit the nail on the head! I bid you farewell and a great nights sleep!

{Ed002's Note - Keep it greasy.}

@Ed002, interesting to hear your opinion as always on the top 4 there and you mentioned you could see Villa improving and Palace. Villa have signed quite a few alright but Palace had half their squad released, out of contract.

They were an ageing team so probably needed freshening up but I wanted to ask is it that you rate Viera as a coach or do you expect Palace to make some decent signings maybe or how do you see them improving?

{Ed002's Note - They have been doing a great job with signings.```]

Fair enough, I heard Viera wanted to keep Zaha but I hadn't noticed their signings so will have to take a look cheers!

Good shout about Villa - as someone said they other day they are buying well and have a solid look about them - they are building a good team as opposed a Grealish fan club. One of the ones you see on the fixture list and think ‘that’ll test us’.

Mind you I still think (based on blind optimism) that we will add a couple more to our squad who will both be challenging for a spot in the starting 11.

I like the look of Leicester City again, although I’m disappointed that they’ve lost Fofana to a broken leg. He’s an excellent young player.
Their recruitment has been good but they probably need a defensive addition now to cover the injuries.
They always seem to get good value for their money though.

{Ed025's Note - and they are your main threat for that 4th spot juicer..

Very possibly Ed025, particularly if Man Utd get Saul and we don’t get a midfielder.
It seems to have gotten to the point that funds are only available for absolute emergencies?
On paper there’s plenty of midfielders but any injuries to Fabinho or Henderson and we’re light in my view.
Fingers crossed for another First X1 player in there.
CL football is a must again, post-CV recovery though.

Interesting view on Palace ed, do you rate viera as a coach, ill be honest I haven't followed his coaching career at all.

{Ed002's Note - It is not a case of "rating" the head coach - it is the respect he carries that allows people like Kristian Wilson to join him.}
