We are being linked to joao Pedro of fluminese in one of the papers today, anyone know if there is anything in it, cheers.

1.) 25 May 2019 21:23:51
Would be surprised as Watford have already agreed a deal.

2.) 26 May 2019 11:49:32
That's what it said, but said Liverpool were ready to hijack the move.

3.) 26 May 2019 12:30:57
He isn't 18 yet so the deal can be "hijacked" doubt it though with duncan and brewster looking to break through, perhaps why we need a strong forward, to replace the under 18s lads.

26 Aug 2017 11:31:41
German papers reporting we are trying to sign dermibay from hoffenheim, that's a new one, has anyone heard anything.

1.) 26 Aug 2017 11:54:17
all because klopp hugged him after the match and had a small discussion and the guy laughed lol.

2.) 26 Aug 2017 12:13:54
I didn't see that, I asked because I saw the story in the Euro papers on the sky app.

3.) 26 Aug 2017 13:20:36
Alright gmil, I posted about 6 week ago that Demibray was at Anfield before he went to play with Germany in the confederations cup. I did ask eds about it, and they reply that would be tapping up but that's nothing new with all teams. So I do believe the is interest but probably next year.

4.) 27 Aug 2017 07:59:30
He Klopp did not tap him up again.

18 Oct 2014 08:35:30
Hey Ed, was just wondering with sturridge being injured again do you see Liverpool signing a forward in January or staying with what they have

{Ed001's Note - not sure how an injury in October will be relevant to the January window?}

1.) I hope so. sturridge is a quality player but clearly he is made of glass because his injury record quite frankly is appalling

2.) We have 4 strikers in the squad, 1 on loan.

3.) Sure, we have 4 strikers but only 1 is world class and he is as you say made of glass. Move Borini on in january and get a flexible, pacy world class forward such as Reus, Pedro, Lavezzi or Lacazette.

On a different note, has Brendan ever used Henderson as CDM?

4.) The time to get the Lacazette's and Pedro's of the world was in the summer. We bought Balotelli and Lambert.

5.) That's exactly why people in charge of liverpool transfers must be fired. Lovren, Lallana, Can, Balotelli, Markovic. That's 5 players we bought for around 100m who would barely cut the mustard at blackburn rovers. Who pays for this ultimately? Fans. And the fans demand action.

Ed if I may, just read that spurs have installed barriers for safe standing in their ground, I believe a lot of clubs are in favour of this but are Liverpool even considering it for anfield?

{Ed002's Note - The PL clubs regularly discuss it and most know that supporters try and stand. The problem is that not all clubs can agree and it is more than likely to be a phased implementation. Liverpool are not one of the clubs pushing for it.}

1.) 08 Feb 2020 08:09:12
Only time you sit in the kop is warm ups and halftime. They do ask everyone to sit but that’s never going to happen.

23 Mar 2019 08:03:02
Did anyone else see France footballs list of all time greatest managers and Bob Paisley's not in the top ten, I've seen a few of these now and he never seems to be in the top few, why do all these polls etc keep overlooking him?

{Ed001's Note - because they are done by people who know f all about football.}

1.) 23 Mar 2019 09:26:27
Paisley won more European cups in 9 years than Ferguson won in 26. He is the greatest ever for me.

{Ed001's Note - agreed. Paisley was incredible.}

2.) 23 Mar 2019 09:49:17
Paisley was the best ever, is the best ever and always will be, the best ever. These daft lists mean bugger all, probably wrote by some 20 year old kid in his bedroom, what it comes down to is the truth of things, history etc and imo there's no touching Paisley, no modern manager is even close and I doubt in my life time I'll ever see it. Let the younger generation believe what they want to believe but the be all and end all is, they haven't got a bloody clue what they're talking about lol.

3.) 23 Mar 2019 10:38:11
For me he's the best, I even named my son Bobby after him 😁.

4.) 23 Mar 2019 10:56:48
We live in an age of revisionism and short term thinking. People are now questioning that Cruyff, Pele and Maradona aren’t the greatest that ever played because they didn’t feature in FIFA or saw them on Sky, it’s ridiculous. The idiots are winning.

5.) 23 Mar 2019 11:37:35
Precisely FranklyMrShankly. People are far more interested in revising history, than in making it. Shallow thinking.

6.) 23 Mar 2019 11:38:11
Agreed that Paisley at 26 is ridiculous.
Shankly is at 10, though how Guardiola is at 5 already is beyond me.
Paisley somewhere in the top 10, although I agree with Michels heading the list.
It’s terribly difficult to choose between Shankly and Paisley, never mind the others.
Though for what he built and stood for, Shankly will always be our King.

7.) 23 Mar 2019 14:25:39
Well Frankly, OBVIOULSY how you compare Pele to a current player is based on his 'icon' FIFA Ultimate Team card. Looking at footage of him play? Reading about him? Listening to what other pros said? Nah. Who needs any of that?

If he doesn't score you as many goals as the Cristiano Ronaldo Team of the Week card that you got after opening 400 quid's worth of packs that you bought with Mommy's credit card then he's clearly not as good.

8.) 23 Mar 2019 14:41:39
Who were our worst ever managers?

9.) 23 Mar 2019 18:31:18
JK- I think Souness set us back a long way
Hodgson up there too

However there were probably some horrors before my time that- as people have alluded to above- we don’t look at.

10.) 23 Mar 2019 18:57:08
Paisley was genius unfortunately he's career was/ will always be overshadowed by another maestro in Shanks.

11.) 23 Mar 2019 20:03:40
Adrian Durham gave his top 5 all time coaches across all sports on the radio the other day, he had Paisley as number 1.

12.) 23 Mar 2019 22:28:40
France Football prolly never heard of the great Bob Paisley. Paisley is simply the best. had he coached as long as Gergie did, he could prolly have won near 40 trophies.

13.) 24 Mar 2019 08:34:35
It’s too vague a question - again!
You need to break it down into international football and club football. How do you compare the 2? I don’t know!

Club football - Paisley is definitely in everyone’s top 5.

14.) 24 Mar 2019 11:27:46
Paisley for me. Shanks was/ is a true legend but Paisley took on a seemingly impossible task and bettered it, we’ve seen what happened since.

One thing I read when he was in charge, ‘Liverpool rarely make a bad buy’. Neal, Hansen, Souness, Dalglish ect etc.

Genius. And such a modest Unassuming man. Respect.

YMWA ed.

Lads, eds have any of you heard how Sean cox is? I was told earlier he has woken up from the coma.

1.) 28 Jul 2018 20:42:32
I think it was about a week ago a few posters mentioned it and wished him well.

2.) 28 Jul 2018 21:04:01
Cheers mate.

3.) 29 Jul 2018 00:54:42
He regained consciousness the day before the cl final, but his family wanted it kept quiet, they said his recovery is very very slow and will continue to be so. Reading between the lines he's still not in a go way, but hopefully he'll continue to get there and get some sort of life back,

17 Aug 2017 13:38:04
As regards to the proposed changes to the transfer window closing by the start of the seasons and England and a few others starting earlier, would it not make sense to open it from June 1st until August 1st while correct me if I'm wrong but all domestic seasons are finished.

{Ed002's Note - This would be to suit England would it?}

1.) 17 Aug 2017 13:58:40
Ian Holloway was pretty upset about it last night, looked a nervous wreck and he was suggesting jobs were on the line if the transfer window dates don't change.
I couldn't hear properly though as the Mrs was yapping away on the phone beside me 😆.

2.) 17 Aug 2017 17:59:29
No not England, just thinking would it not be better for all clubs to have the window open while there is no ongoing domestic leagues and close it before the league starts all across Europe at least all clubs would no what they have to work with in terms of squad until at least January, which should be scrapped aswell in my opinion.

{Ed002's Note - So you think other countries should kow-tow to the English and not be allowed to buy players during the close season because the English won't fall in to line with everybody else?}

07 Aug 2017 09:31:41
On a lighter note Paul merson has predicted we will finish outside the top four this season, so as with the way his predictions go about us expect the title at anfield in May 😊.

1.) 07 Aug 2017 09:44:13
Does he mean like we did last season where all the pundits tipped us to finish 6th at best?

2.) 07 Aug 2017 09:45:47
For once he's going to be right. Still, a broken clock is right twice a day,

3.) 07 Aug 2017 10:34:54
To be fair he puts us ahead of United if we kept Coutinho but he sees us losing him and can't see us being in that top 4 without him.

4.) 07 Aug 2017 10:47:35
I hope to god you don't go to Anfield FranklyMrShankly, it's this sort of negative thinking and attitude that is partly to blame for carp atmosphere!

Look up the meaning of the word 'Supporter'!

5.) 07 Aug 2017 11:53:29
Sorry scarface I disagree.

I've voiced my opinions on here, not what people want to here. But I'm still three with the buzz of match day.

It's everyone on their phones, a whole new stand dedicated to cooperate seats ( only 2,000 season tickets released out of 8,000 seats ) they are pert of the problem.

Nothing to do with voicing opinions on here

I happen to agree with Frankley.

Ed would this be an "alternative " to the pan breakaway European league or are the clubs trying to use this idea as a kind of threat for the breakaway if you get my point, sorry if its a stupid question but most of these things have "back up/ alternative "motives.

{Ed002's Note - No it is nothing to do with the pan-European breakaway plans. The motivation is financial and the need to try and get the growth potential on an upward turn. FSG will need to start pondering what to do.}

Does the problem lie with how academies work with kids in Britain and train them, like for example Spain and Italy seem to produce more technical players etc, would Britain be better to focus on academies and how they teach players to play from a younger age, with more focus on technical ability rather than trying to produce the best athletes, or have they moved to do this already?

{Ed001's Note - they have been doing that for a while and that is what we are seeing in the current generation of players. However they are producing, in large part, players that have no heart as everything is easy for them. That is the issue. In the main the best sportspeople come from difficult beginnings as it teaches them the value of hard work needed to achieve anything and gives them desire. English people have an easier life than most, which means they are not having to develop that same drive to succeed. That added to a lack of places to play in the streets, away from coaches interference, is leaving it an uphill struggle to produce quality players who actually have that drive to succeed. Which is why most of the better players are having to drop down the divisions first to learn about adversity or are coming from the lower leagues.}

Very disappointed with the club, big businesses like this shouldn't be allowed do it because they can afford not to, football is a gold mine but that's because of the ordinary Joe soap who spends their money in the clubs, tickets, merch etc . a lot of players have donated money, facilities etc to help out the clubs should follow suit.

Spurs were always a good football side, regardless of where they finished the in the league they always played attacking football and levy seems to be trying to change that now, surely Lewis can see that or is levy being told to get the team finishing as high up the table as possible anyway for the ££££. I doubt spurs fans are happy. my da is a spurs fan since the 60's and couldn't bring himself to watch them under mourinho.
