I was over there in Doha in August for work. I think it is worth mentioning construction projects are getting rushed over there not just the stadiums. Hospitals etc.

The Lebanese guy I was with told me he had seen someone die in the heat a few weeks ago. I know I could only stand the heat for tops 5 minutes, never mind working in it. I drove past the final were the stadium is being held and there were still finishing off the outside of the stadium.

The way immigrants are treated over there and the inequality based on where you come from is so backwards on so many levels.

I do worry whether they are prepared for crowd control required.

Thing should be boycotted! The World Cup was always a summer thing kids on summer hols people on holidays etc was always a great buzz! This money racket is a sham I hope it’s a massive failure!

I've said it when discussing this topic with my bro in-law. If one top class player boycotted the WC using this dreadful issue as his reason, it will cause absolute chaos IMO cos it could make other players boycott the tournament it self. It will still go ahead BUT it will damage the image of the comp. It only takes one or a few. Sadly, that won't happen.

It is again, all about money. Ethics might be talked about by the likes of Neville etc. (see Ian Hislop lay into him on HIGNFY last week), but they're getting wombats of cash, as are all the FAs involved and FIFA etc.

Players and fans alike should've spoke up sooner, but it's here now and like others, I hope it falls flat on its bottom.
I certainly won't be buying a sticker album, not will I be rushing home from school to watch matches and write all the notes and stats down in the back of my geography exercise book.
