Would anyone still give Firmino a contract? Was on the fence with it but this injury that was supposed to be a few days turning into 2 months has changed my mind the robustness has gone. One of my favourite players ever but i’d get him off the wage bill along with Keita, Ox, Milner and Adrian. Must be about half million a week? Up front Salah Diaz Jota Nunez Gakpo with a few kids seems ok to me as long as we get a few good midfielders in.

I think they will let him go tbh. I think that’s why they signed Gakpo, to have 5 senior forwards going in to next season. It’s a shame, but it’s time to move on I think. Maybe they have learned from allowing the midfield to age without refreshing and don’t want to go down the same route.

Personally I think Klopp is looking forward to having 6 options at least for the 3 spots. I know 6 sounds oversaturated but I would expect any one of the six at least to be out with injury at any point, so personally I wouldn’t expect Bobby to leave unless he and his camp are unhappy with whatever deal the club offers.

Not that I'm saying you're wrong because I totally agree it is time for Bobby to move on, but it highlights how hypocritical it is when some fans crab a player for wanting to leave (Sterling or Coutinho) labelling them traitors or not being loyal enough. Where in the next breath they'll say another player is past it or not good enough so get rid.

I'm not suggesting it will be 6 fwds, however if it is, why is that too much? 2 for each position, seems other clubs that have that aren't deemed top heavy, why us? When we had that last year we finally could compete on all fronts like man City. I think keeping firminio, with the agreement his playing time and wages is reduced is a no brained, he offers what no other fwd can. I think offloading other players is a bigger priority, ie keita, ox, Phillips if klopp doesn't see him as anything above 5th choice, one of Adrian/ kelleher (if kelleher won't accept no 2).

Klopp has already said that he want's him to stay, and rightly so. Bobby has been on fine form, injury aside, and he will guide the next gen .

I mean you shouldn’t keep players that are past it should you? Can’t keep Firmino forever if anything we’ve been too loyal to him, another that you could argue should have left in the summer of more likely summer 2021 when we could have got a decent fee for him. Himself and Milner are here longer than Klopp!

Always a red91
The difference between Sterling and Coutinho and Bobby is the first two wanted to leave Liverpool when they were at their peak. Don't think hypocrisy comes into it. Love Bobby but he is maybe on a downward spiral and requires replacing.

Clear him out. Along with milly nabby and ox. Keeping these lots way too long. And sell the ones like gomez and phillips and maybe Jones. Not cutting it let's be honest.

The only person in that list injured more than Bobby is jota! He is another one that cannot stay fit! I would cash in on him if in need of money!

No. I'd have got rid of him years ago. He does things on the pitch that I don't see so that's why I'd get rid.

Red91, it’s not the same at all. Bobby has reached the end of his contract honourably and the club has paid him for his services during the term of the contract. They do not have to offer him another contract, nor does he have to sign it if they do.
Can’t see how that is the same as the other two you mentioned who were mid contract and behaved appallingly to get a “dream move” away.

A 2 year-extension is not going to be a huge outlay for a player who brings more to the team and our efficiency in play, than say, someone new who will join. I'd give him 100k-125k for 2 more years. He'd certainly give back far more on the field than Keita or Ox ever did. And he could prove pivotal in the developmentof players like Nunez, Carvalho, Elliott and even Gakpo.
