Ed’s what’s the likelihood we go into the January transfer window for a couple of additions? Does it all depend on how we fair from now till then? Or are there plans in force anyway?
{Ed001's Note - we will try for at least a midfielder.}
1.) 05 Dec 2024 14:13:19
At the summer, we should go all in on A. Bastoni. he's going to be an amazing fit for us. Ed01s been spot on again. He was one cb he was high on since long ago.
2.) 05 Dec 2024 14:26:31
Bastoni is inter through and through, pretty sure he would never want to leave his club, barella, another we’ve been admiring for years, would probably be the same.
3.) 05 Dec 2024 13:36:18
Ed001, you reckon Endo might be shipped out to make way? He doesn’t seem to be favoured right now.
I fear for Quansah as well to be honest, I think mostly pure bad luck sadly but he’s having a shocker this season and I wouldn’t be too surprised to see him moved on and someone else brought in either in Jan or the summer.
{Ed001's Note - yes, I expect Endo to go, sadly.
As for Quansah, he is just not as good as some fans thought. He has ability and physicality, but he is trying to be like Virgil and that is not what he needs to do. He needs to be himself as he is ending up being less laid-back and more lackadaisical.}
4.) 05 Dec 2024 13:38:10
Any idea who Ed?
I don’t think the Zub one makes sense tbh.
Thanks in advance.
{Ed001's Note - I don't know, it will be based on stats, they are looking for someone to help keep possession in the middle of the park.}
5.) 05 Dec 2024 14:16:24
Cheers ed, definitely 1 needed for me and also a cb, not sure which we are most desperate for though.
6.) 05 Dec 2024 14:34:04
Do you see us going back for Zubimendi Ed001? Or has that ship sailed?
{Ed001's Note - I would be surprised if we went back for him.}
7.) 05 Dec 2024 15:53:24
I would love us to get zubimendi eventually, he has been scary scary good for sociedad this year, uses the ball perfectly and gets into the final third a lot too, though I think ed001 is right, his game is quite similar to Mac allister this year though he is also making a lot of interceptions in midfield.
8.) 05 Dec 2024 16:42:40
Absolutely doubt we’ll spend money in January. Just can’t see us doing it.
9.) 05 Dec 2024 16:57:30
Quansah I think definitely won’t be our level and will probably move on or he stays as a 4th choice.
10.) 05 Dec 2024 17:08:54
Whats the chances that LFC go for Amad Diallo in the summer on a free?
Or Tottenhams Son on a free?
11.) 05 Dec 2024 17:37:50
Fatwallet-Quansah was excellent last season, and lest we not forget his age.
He has plenty of time to develop into a top level player.
Id be selling Jo Gomez ahead of Quansah.
12.) 05 Dec 2024 18:04:40
Vango why?
He’s of a good age, not expensive on wages, non verbal about playing time, gives his all when he does play. Plays two positions brilliantly and can also help out at left back,
Well liked by the squad.
It makes no sense to sell him.
13.) 05 Dec 2024 18:51:05
Also, I’d be gutted to see Endo go.
I said before the match yesterday Endo should be getting minutes to be better prepared for the tougher matches coming. He’s a warrior!
Saturday is prime time for him.
Last Derby at Goddison Park, them slowing down the steam train were riding on top of the league?
Two huge reasons on top of every other reason they have (Yes we have the same reasons) to win!
I would have given him minutes yesterday to have him available and ready for a start Saturday against Everton. A surprise may be strung and he starts. I genuinely think this is a game he was made for!
GK dependent on Allison
Trent Gomez VVD Robertson
Endo Gravenberch
Salah Jones Diaz
Nunez
Sent with a smile All
We’re top of the league YNWA.
14.) 05 Dec 2024 18:59:45
Unfortunately the injuries look like they caught up with Joe. For me he lacks that consistency that is required at the very top. He seems to be a world beater one game and a Championship player the next. Brilliant servant to the club but I think we need an upgrade now if we are to push on.
15.) 05 Dec 2024 19:02:14
Evening ed001…
Any idea on who ( midfielder ) we might move for?
Cheer
Drogie.
{Ed001's Note - no mate sorry.}
16.) 05 Dec 2024 20:30:51
Sad to say but Darwin needs to move on (and with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be) He was totally out of his league last night and running around with loads of effort and industry doesn’t make you a PL player. ? Alex Isak would score aboat loads of goals and I’d love us to go balls out for him?.
17.) 06 Dec 2024 00:38:25
I haven't been convinced that we need Zubi because of his similarity to Jones. But in recent games, the one-touch football has noticeably increased between our CMs and the wingers / fullbacks. So got me thinking that we do need to increase that kind of skillset into the team. eye for pass, create angles, triangles etc etc. Zubi would be good for that and would compliment Szobo and Jones well in that sense.
18.) 06 Dec 2024 00:44:31
Some who keeps the ball? How about Youri Tielemans?
19.) 06 Dec 2024 01:02:16
@Schultzy, you are correct but I think it’s very, very sad that a phrase like ‘with a 3 year write down it wouldn’t be as financially bad as it could be” is being used when talking about footy. The beautiful game is over the hills and long, long way gone.
20.) 06 Dec 2024 11:08:58
How quick a young lad like Quansah gets written off, not at our level now? when most people were perfectly happy to have him start the first game at Ipswich back in August? Same people probably still making excuses for Darwin who cost a fortune and who let's face it has to be the worst finisher ever to play upfront for the reds. Makes Heskey look clinical.
21.) 06 Dec 2024 21:31:44
Bit tough on Heskey
More akin to Voronin.
22.) 07 Dec 2024 21:12:57
Was never confident with quansah at Ipswich tbh, I’d rather keep Gomez, it’s my opinion that he’s not good enough.
14 Sep 2024 08:40:25
Eds what was plan for mexican winger César 'Chino' Huerta who allegedly had his bag packed ready to join in window just gone, . Report I read said he was going to Sunderland on loan for a season but it fell through on their end, so deal wasnt completed. Is he someone just for the academy or to make a profit on? Never seen him obviously. Cheers.
{Ed002's Note - He is certainly not for the academy
Cesar Huerta (LW) Right footed LW who Liverpool, according to his agent and manager, were interested in taking and sending him on loan to the Championship as he is borderline in being eligible for a Work Permit for the Premier League. Austin enquired after him and Lutz Pfannenstiel considered him as an option. If FSG could purchase another side in Europe or the MLS it would help with loaning him out.}
1.) 14 Sep 2024 15:04:02
So the loan to Sunderland was to gain make work permit an easier process and then join our first team the season after maybe? Love a South American me, grafters.
{Ed002's Note - Possibly.}
2.) 15 Sep 2024 01:48:42
Magico
Hope you love North Americans as much as South bud.
3.) 15 Sep 2024 11:25:15
420FL, that made me smile.
4.) 15 Sep 2024 22:28:52
Haha sorry pal.
29 Jul 2024 14:52:08
Peg offer 8.4m for SEP, instantly refused.
1.) 29 Jul 2024 15:31:25
Who is peg?
{Ed002's Note - PSV.}
2.) 29 Jul 2024 16:07:04
Is that PSG for SVB Magico?
Actually just checked NewsNow and its from Romano on X - PSV bid €10m for SVB and it was rejected (according to him) .
Good, I hope Sepp could form part of our CB lineup this year.
My ideal (based on reports and some highlights of his from last season) - Van Dijk + 1 (maybe Inacio) for LCB, Sepp and Quansah for RCB and Joe Gomez covering all positions at the back if required.
Someone like Inacio could also provide cover at LB too.
If Joe goes, then Geertruida as a utility defener and providing options at CDM.
3.) 29 Jul 2024 16:07:58
I think PSV offered the same! ?.
4.) 29 Jul 2024 16:21:56
That is actually an insulting offer if it's true. Pacho is allegedly valued at 60m plus, so it is completely reasonable for us to want a third of that for a player who performed better than Pacho last season in the same league for a weaker team. There is lowballing and then there is just pure cheek.
James Pearce reported yesterday that Sepp isn't desperate to leave, he just doesn't want to be stranded way down the pecking order. So we're under no pressure to sell for utterly derisory offers like that.
{Ed002's Note - Are Liverpool planning on valuing all of their players using Pacho as a guide?}
5.) 29 Jul 2024 16:30:34
@Zeddicus
And what are you going to do with Konate?
6.) 29 Jul 2024 17:31:46
Super Hans, sadly, I would look to sell Konate. Great defender on his day, and has great pace, but injured too often to be relied upon.
Ed002, the market has always been dependent on other player sales to 'set a price'.
I agree with Adam that SVB is underpriced by PSV at €10m, albeit I prefer the 'Inacio-scale'!
{Ed002's Note - Clubs always set what they think is a fair maximum they would pay to buy and a fair minimum to sell.}
7.) 29 Jul 2024 18:19:32
C’mon Ed002, if Liverpool offered €10m for a player of van den Berg’s class you’d quite rightly say we were messing them about with embarrassing behaviour. I thought it was Amsterdam where they liked a bit of Whacky Backy, but they’ve definitely been smoking something over in Eindhoven. We should respond with a €10m euro offer for Bakayoko.
{Ed002's Note - That is not how it works. Sure make a stupid offer for a player - simply makes the club more of a laughing stock.}
8.) 29 Jul 2024 18:45:43
Sorry lads was meant to be psv haha, was in a rush. If he’s so highly thought of why aren’t the offers much more. If he was on city’s books he’d be 30m plus minimum.
9.) 29 Jul 2024 18:54:19
I was clearly joking Ed002, but it’s good to know that you agree €10m for a top young talent is stupid ?.
10.) 29 Jul 2024 19:30:45
Yep funny how when we do it it's lowballing but when others do it to LFC it's us being unreasonable. If we've set the asking price then the interested club just need to stump up and pay it if they want him and that's all there is to it, right?
11.) 29 Jul 2024 20:45:22
Westwood - Bipolar genZ in full force.
12.) 29 Jul 2024 21:58:50
Well said MK Scouser absolutely spot on.
13.) 30 Jul 2024 01:07:26
You can’t blame PSV when the player/ agent have been vocal for months about wanting to leave. If that’s the public perception, then imagine what the representatives are indicating to other clubs behind closed doors. Player power works and clubs have been know to use it to manipulate clubs, nothing new here.
14.) 30 Jul 2024 01:55:51
I think it’s imperative that we sell everybody in the squad who has ever dropped below 100% in any competitive match for the club and that the instant replacements should all be bought for at least £100 m, as this is the only sure guarantee that a player is any good. As Hughes and Slot have indicated that there will be transfer activity in August I expect the full replacement of the entire squad on August 1st. Any failure to meet this plan must be regarded as an abject failure on the part of FSG, who should immediately sell the club to somebody in the UAE - I’m not sure who, but anybody will do and it has to be done by cob August 2nd.
15.) 30 Jul 2024 05:35:58
I've had this thought about the perspective of our "low" offers versus how we price players out of moves.
Never understood it myself, but can understand that's why it's probably better we try not to understand it lol.
16.) 30 Jul 2024 06:38:27
There's nothing to understand Faith, it's just hypocrisy at its finest from those who consistently and objectively show they do not like the club or it's fans. Makes you wonder why they are even on here tbh, other than simply trolling.
17.) 30 Jul 2024 08:42:39
IDK why you making stupid arguments with ed002 regd price tag. He is correct. SVB is surplus at the end of the last season. We are looking to seel and he wasn't even in bench for us. On other hand we are trying to bid for their first team player. Of course this changes the price tag in the first place.
18.) 30 Jul 2024 17:48:34
I'm not sure if you are referring to me STG, but if you are I have not once mentioned Ed002 in any of my posts and have no intention of doing so either.
19.) 31 Jul 2024 08:05:46
Is IDK text speak for ‘I don’t know’? If it is I have to say I didn’t know that it means I don’t know ….
20.) 31 Jul 2024 10:24:57
I am not pointing anyone just told in general. Some of the talented players got for way less and some average players was paid way more. We can't compare any 2 transfers.
07 Jul 2024 11:33:10
Morning all. Eds is there any serious interest in nico Williams from Spain for us? And that olmo looks very good also. Is Diaz definitely off? And summerville a serious option? Cheers guys.
{Ed002's Note - Nico Williams (LW/RW) Young Basque winger and brother to Inaki who has eased himself in to the first team over the last two seasons. Terse response from the Spanish U21 set up (along the lines of "he does not score many goals for an attacker") when told he was changing his allegiance to Ghana, like his brother - and that led to him changing back to Spain. There was plenty of interest in him so a contract extension and buy out clause were awarded to the player at the start of 2022 and again in December 2023, pricing him out of a move to Barcelona plus a significant signing on fee, plus wages of €350k per week - but they remain interested although they need to sell before buying so must prioritise. Likely to be preferred to Luis Diaz who may find himself struggling for options. The player has made it clear he wants to move to Barcelona but the club say he is happy and wants to stay. Seen as far more affordable than Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Rafael Leao for PSG. The Aston Villa coach wishes to be reunited and they will push for a deal in the summer but he may opt to stay for a year or two more after signing a new contract. Looked at by numerous Premier League clubs including Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid. Chelsea are put off by the attitude, wages being asked for and he is not first choice but an advisor is still pushing Chelsea to make a bid. Arsenal may bite and make an offer and Newcastle offer a wildcard option. Should get the move he wants to Barcelona.
Dani Olmo (AM/W) Could still be sold this summer if a significant offer were to be made that is close to his €60M termination Clause. Atletico, Spurs, Manchester City and Barcelona were interested, although Barcelona have preferred options in Williams and Diaz and need to sell to buy or horse trade - they may be the only interested side left although I would not discount Manchester City. The player is keen to move to Barcelona. Chelsea considered him as a Mason Mount replacement last summer but have preferred options now. Manchester United or Liverpool may offer a wildcard option. Bayern Munich interest has gone due to injury concerns.
Luis Diaz (LW) Could be surplus. His agent already has one player in the Saudi league and has been offering another high profile player he has - so he may well be looking at Diaz as well given Liverpool are well stocked in the position. Al-Hillal may offer a solution. Liverpool will likely resist a deal but could look to a deal with Barcelona if they are serious about Raphinha, but Diaz is not first choice for Barcelona. Using him in part exchange for another may be possible. Thoughts that PSG want him as an Mbappe replacement are well wide of the mark given they have very clear targets already, but his agent has approached PSG - but no more than that. Father says he wants to move to Spain. Liverpool need his future resolved and he may well haved burned his bridges at the club.
Crysencio Summerville (RW/LW) Leeds have no interest in selling but his agent is looking for a step up and speaking with clubs about him - he has certainly approached PSG, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs and I suspect others. PSG have made an approach to Leeds but may only offer him a bit part role. Both Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen have spoken directly with Leeds. Agent is close to Aston Villa and the City Football Group. A move seems likely even though Leeds will look for a new contract. I am not aware of Liverpool making any approach yet but I understand Slot is a fan of the youngster from advice given to him by Sipke Hulshoff - who knows him well. If he were to replace Salah, there has to be an element of risk but he may become first choice. Crystal Palace have dropped their interest after recruiting a wide player to replace Olise. PSG, Newcastle and Brighton will push but Brighton have already rejected a request to include a buy out clause.}
1.) 07 Jul 2024 14:37:55
I am not against leaving the forward options as they are for this coming season given Salah looks as though he intends to stay and Barcelona are unlikely to stump up the cash for Lucho.
It's a shame Nico Williams is already out of our salary range - he looks a real talent.
Anthony Gordon seems like a very costly solution to a problem we don't have.
Feels too early for Summerville to go to a top club. I'd have preferred Yankuba Minteh to him.
CB, DM and LB are bigger priorities.
2.) 07 Jul 2024 15:19:44
Tend to agree FPF although I’d throw GK into the mix. I think as it stands the biggest priority is replacing Adrian, Matip and Thiago.
So 3rd choice keeper, a CB if Van den Berg wants out, and a midfielder if Morton is deemed not good enough.
From a personal point of view I agree with you and also want a LB option because Gomez isn’t a LB and Tsimikas is a huge drop off from Robbo. Is Beck that option? Don’t know but we can’t go into another season hoping Robbo is fit for 60 games.
Kelleher and Diaz are obviously pushing for moves away as well but only if they leave do we need a 2nd keeper or a replacement winger.
The squads strong. Slot said as much himself. We’re not really short in many positions other than LB quality wise and the gaps left by expired contracts.
3.) 07 Jul 2024 17:14:41
Think we could manage a salary for Williams, after all we've saved £350k a week as opposed to last season with Adrian, Thiago and Joel leaving. just think he'll end up at Barcelona though.
4.) 07 Jul 2024 22:26:11
It's not that black and white, JN.
5.) 08 Jul 2024 00:35:52
@mk scoundrel, I agree we are well stocked up but not with the quality we need. We need to replace Thiago, Matip and Adrian…. agreed. However upfront is my concern. We create a lot of chances but our only real threat upfront is jota when fit. Salah is on a downward decline and is missing more and more opportunities (yes he was our top scorer last season but how many chances did they have to create for him to score? ), Nunez I just don’t think is good enough…. two seasons and no improvement in finishing, Diaz clearly wants out, gakpo needs to play on the left wing…. there is a clear lack of goals from our forwards and that’s concerning! What’s the point of creating so many chances to have forwards that are more likely to miss them?
6.) 08 Jul 2024 10:09:08
Sometimes it is Oli. and besides, any top player is going to want top wages, or do we just give up on top players the minute we hear what poke they take home?
7.) 08 Jul 2024 10:22:08
MK Scoundrel ?
You make a fair point though Big Pooper! (Sorry couldn’t resist)
We do need our forwards to be more clinical next season. I think Nunez might be on his last life line.
8.) 08 Jul 2024 12:51:52
Don’t think we’ll ever see the best of Diaz unless we build the team around him, love the guy still but that injury does seem to have taken its toll. Replace him with Gordon or Williams if possible…. probably Williams unlikely. But should be ahead of Gordon all day
I’d sell Jota because of his constant injuries and get in Olmo, superb player. And salah should be a going to too, at the very least an understudy like Summerville brought in.
Buy a defensive midfielder powerhouse a new centre back (maybe sell konate) but I’d like him to stay and get back to what he was and a back up keeper unless we promote a youth.
29 Apr 2024 07:56:57
Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras Any truth in this Ed’s? And chiesa?
{Ed002's Note - Luis Guilherme (AM) Manchester United, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona have shown an interest in the player for next summer. Chelsea discussed him during negotiations two other players. Spurs may well have noted him when scouting another Palmeiras player. However, a new contract and a €60M release clause may prove to be an issue.}

Mate sent me this yesterday. "I thought Liverpool walked on through the storm and wind and the rain" haha fair play to be honest, was the weather really that bad in Liverpool yesterday? To stop the game.
1.) 08 Dec 2024 12:36:27
Magico, it was the police and the council that said the game had to be postpined, also trains and buses were affected. There were trees coming down all over the west side of the country.
{Ed014's Note - the Police, Council and both clubs held a meeting about the postponement.
2.) 08 Dec 2024 13:10:19
Fair enough lads. Was a bit breezy up in Manchester and wet as usual but not the 50 odd mph winds they said was coming. At least the lads had a rest and hopefully a bit more recouping. When the game likely have they said?
3.) 08 Dec 2024 13:16:48
What's it got to do with The Police?
I thought Sting was a Newcastle fan.
4.) 08 Dec 2024 21:55:22
Magico even us here in Brussels had storm warnings thu out yesterday due to these winds. That game should never have been played and Im glad it wasn't.
5.) 09 Dec 2024 00:31:15
Brussels and strong winds are to be expected at this time of year.
25 Nov 2024 13:05:19
What would people think of bringing in dibling from Southampton and delap from Ipswich….2 extremely talented youngsters.
Dibling ripped us apart yesterday single handed and Danny Murphy is calling delap the new harry kane he’s that good……. personally I’d take them both.
1.) 25 Nov 2024 13:32:51
The problem is that dibling originally left saints for Chelsea two years ago and went back to Southampton because he couldn’t handle the pressure of competing with so many other young talents, he probably might be in a different place mentally now but who knows.
2.) 25 Nov 2024 14:24:40
Nah, I'd rather give our youngsters like Doak a run in the team. I rate Deibling and really think he won't be at Saints next season esp. if they get relegated but nah,
3.) 25 Nov 2024 14:25:06
He was only 16 then, has group a lot since.
4.) 25 Nov 2024 15:00:38
Didn’t know that Patrick…. the way he was taking us on yesterday was very reminiscent of Gareth bale…. definitely going to be a star that lad. I like doak but I don’t see him matching talent of either of the 2. Delap has serious passion and the desire to be a top top player. Whoever gets them, improves their squad.
5.) 25 Nov 2024 15:13:13
I'm with Oli, let's not be covetous towards others before we test out those assets that are causing other teams are casting envious glances at us.
6.) 25 Nov 2024 16:57:37
I think both players look brilliant.
Delay reminds me of Kane, and I thought this before Murphy had his say. Big future for this lad. I think City will activate their buy back when Haaland eventually moves to Spain.
As for Dibbling: something special about this boy. Tall but quick and skillful too. All the big teams will be taking note and I doubt he will stay at Southampton past this season, regardless of if they get relegated or not.
7.) 25 Nov 2024 17:18:00
Indeed, Zed. We all like to wax lyrical about our own young boys and how they should be given chances to prove themselves yet we keep looking at shiny objects elsewhere.
Diebling is doing bits cos he has been given a chance over at least the last 18 months. How do we know that Doak for example, would not have progresses almost or as much as him had he had the chances.
I'd rather develop our boys than start signing other youngsters to block/ replace them if all things remain equal.
8.) 25 Nov 2024 17:21:54
A small sample size but Delap looks a good player. Can hold the ball up, bring players in and knows where the net is. An alternative to Nunez if they need more consistency? Certainly if he keeps this up.
9.) 25 Nov 2024 18:36:44
I like both players too, we however have Doak and Danns in those positions, so maybe we’re good. Time will tell.
10.) 25 Nov 2024 19:05:41
Both have a lot to prove and be consistent over a longer period of time and highly likely all season to prove it before we would need to consider them. They aren’t going to be sold in Jan when their clubs are in a relegation battle.
11.) 25 Nov 2024 19:06:41
absolutely would be all over Dibling.
He was 16 two years ago.
whether he left because he couldn't handle the pressure or whatever is specualtion and in many ways, for a youth, is a moot point.
He found a move to a "smaller" club and has shown he has all the tools to step up for a top club.
I would be all over this kid in Jan with an agreement he arrive in the summer.
{Ed001's Note - he was home sick and went back to his hometown club Southampton, at least that is what I was told.}
22 Nov 2024 09:13:40
Any news on Harvey and chiesa? And other injuries
Cheers
Lads.
1.) 22 Nov 2024 10:09:13
I've just been looking into this exact thing after Elliot didn't seem to be mentioned by Slot in his press conference when talking about injuries and returning players.
It looks like he took part in team training yesterday so he could be available for the squad this weekend but from what I can tell they might give him another week or 2 to get back up to full speed.
Chiesa is not in team training - he is taking part in an individual program designed to overcome the missed preseason. Suggestions seem to be that he could be available in a couple of weeks but every time anybody talks about him it seems to be very generic and a bit 'lets see how it goes'.
2.) 22 Nov 2024 10:11:03
UPDATE: Slot did go on to mention Elliot - he is back.
3.) 22 Nov 2024 11:15:47
Thanks, Shipley. I did also read that Ali is back in training but won't be available vs Saints and very doubtful vs RM and if that is so then, the City game won't happen either.
4.) 22 Nov 2024 11:39:17
Yeah. Ali trained but only in the keeper specific training - not in the team training so he is close but won't be risked immediately.
Other positive news is that Virg should be fine for Sunday, Danns is also back in training and Jota should be back in the next few weeks.
Less positive news is that Trent will likely miss the match this weekend.

Brilliant about Harvey cheers lads, excited for chiesa…hopefully it is just to get him up to speed and not the rumours surrounding homesickness and loaning him out, exceptional talent. No slip ups this weekend and we’ll be flying.
6.) 22 Nov 2024 14:15:58
Is there an irony to Trent missing the game against his potential new employers, or am I being cynical and looking for a rumour where there isn't one.
7.) 22 Nov 2024 14:40:56
Coming up on the end of November and Chiesa is still unfit due to no preseason, is that strange or do other players take this long to get up to speed if they miss a preseason?
8.) 22 Nov 2024 14:56:25
RedQ i don’t think Southampton could afford Trent’s wages, plus he would struggle to get into their midfield mate.

Any local lads on here be able to pick me a couple of tickets up now and again throughout season? obviously at a gain for you. Like rocking horse rubbish these days aren’t they, and the hospitality prices are crazy…. in Bolton so not in the catchment for open sale, worth a shot cheers lads.

How did we play guys? Missed the match through family commitments…just getting back home and going to watch the highlights…nice to start with a win.
1.) 17 Aug 2024 16:05:29
Game of two halves Magico. Really poor 1st half. Looked like a different team in the 2nd half.
2.) 17 Aug 2024 16:08:30
First half meh second half good.
3.) 17 Aug 2024 16:10:41
Don't watch 1st half Magico.
4.) 17 Aug 2024 16:11:25
1st half ?
2nd half a lot better ?.
5.) 17 Aug 2024 16:50:09
Same here. couldn't watch.
But good to have a record breaking start to the season.
6.) 17 Aug 2024 17:08:16
Cheers lads, not much different from last season then, what formation we start with? Going to leave highlights till match of the day.
7.) 17 Aug 2024 17:08:53
Same ?.
8.) 17 Aug 2024 17:31:15
First half was garbage. Second half was excellent.
Scoreline flattered them in the end should’ve been 4/ 5 nil.
Bring on Brentford.
9.) 17 Aug 2024 18:13:47
The positive I took from the first half is that last season we would have conceded a soft goal and gone 1-0 down.
Second half was much better and there was a 15 minute spell where we were class and could have scored 4 or 5 in quick succession.
Diaz and Jots both missed absolute sitters at 0-0 that Darwin would have been destroyed for. The Diax one was an awesome move. We also failed to get a shot away despite having a 4v2 situation. There are still things to work on but a good start.
10.) 17 Aug 2024 18:37:38
Gravenberch 2nd half has to be his best display for us to date thought he was really good 2nd half as was jota and a10/ 15 minute period Trent and szoboslai looked on a different level to everyone on the pitch when we went 2-0 up it settled slightly but we still created .
1st half was sloppy and no one could be given any credit.
11.) 17 Aug 2024 18:48:34
I think it helped us in the second half that Ipswich dropped off a bit.
Gravenberch's performance highlighted this. In the first half the midfield didn't have a tackle in it but in the second half Grav looked like he can do a job as a 6 especially against the lesser teams.
12.) 17 Aug 2024 19:34:09
I think Slot gave everyone a rocket at half time. He was ruthless with his subs and didn’t mince his words afterwards. Can’t help but like the fella.
Gravenberch was hit and miss in the first half, but played well in the second half. As we’re not going to sign anyone else, the stage is his.
13.) 17 Aug 2024 21:04:53
I wouldn't fancy that midfield against better opposition though.
I still think we need a bit of steel in there.
14.) 18 Aug 2024 10:50:21
To be fair the second half wouldn’t have been as good if the coach hadn’t fixed the major issue (that was also causing other issues) at half-time. The poor first half actually helped us, and was the first (serious) pointer that Slot isn’t here just to put Liverpool on his cv.
05 Dec 2024 14:16:24
Cheers ed, definitely 1 needed for me and also a cb, not sure which we are most desperate for though.
25 Nov 2024 13:10:49
Watched kubo and zubimendi a couple of times this season and far from impressed.
25 Nov 2024 12:54:05
Obviously don’t want to pay his high wages anymore, the longer it goes on, mo will decide he is going to walk in summer and wouldn’t surprise me to be city, Madrid or Barcelona he joins….
13 Nov 2024 17:20:16
I was going to ask the eds yesterday if we had serious interest in marmoush, and would keeping mo around for a year or two help him settle and hopefully persuade him to choose us over several other teams allegedly interested. Only seen him play once to be honest but rave reviews about the lad. I'd let jota go and get him in.
04 Nov 2024 18:22:21
And what about kubo Ed?
{Ed002's Note - Very unlikely now.}
08 Dec 2024 13:10:19
Fair enough lads. Was a bit breezy up in Manchester and wet as usual but not the 50 odd mph winds they said was coming. At least the lads had a rest and hopefully a bit more recouping. When the game likely have they said?
06 Dec 2024 13:51:00
Jk it could be exactly the game to introduce him mate. Can’t wait to see him become a regular.
Sad and pathetic fans? Why because they have an opinion? Are we not allowed? The high and mighty.
05 Dec 2024 19:55:02
Agree completely longthing. And stuie what has 80m got to do with anything? If gomez isn't good enough, which he isn't, and wasn't it him himself trying to force a move somewhere for 1st team football. Time to wish him well and move on, he is a disaster. Nunez is sooooo frustrating and think this will be his last season. Everyone loves the passion and commitment but so many chances being wasted. Goals win games and lack of scoring them will make or break this season I think. And nunez will have to take the blame for me.
02 Dec 2024 12:58:26
Having said that I’d still bring 1 or 2 in myself, but have to be of quality and not just because we have injuries.
02 Dec 2024 12:40:29
Could Endo not be a cb if needed?
