I don’t think he would fit into the ‘right player at the right price’ category. As was discussed on here yesterday we would be better served spending on one or two potential starters in the midfield, rather than use the money on squad members who wouldn’t be regular starters. If we did it would potentially be a lose / lose situation - no new starters and the money needed to get the new starters not there because we padded out the squad.

Based on admittedly poor evidence of youtube clips, he looks to have a similar profile (physical and style) to Luis Suarez. He looks older than 19 in terms of the way he's already built.

Good afternoon! Just wondering what the Eds opinions are on kalvin Phillips from Leeds? Seems to me to be someone who could fit in to our current system very well. I know he has had a few injuries recently but from what I recall Leeds stats when he doesn't play seem to go through the floor. I think he could fill in for Fabinho in the holding role but also play alongside him to utilise a more forward thinking midfielder such as Thiago, carvalho or Elliott. I think Leeds will struggle to hold on to him any longer even after avoiding the drop. Me personally I would be delighted with the capture of him maybe Nunez to replace mane and the young lad Ramsey from Aberdeen. I have a feeling carvalho is going to be an absolute fire cracker! Hopefully the icing on the cake would be to move on players such as minamino, ox, Williams, Davies, Phillips and even possibly Keita to free up wages for salahs new contract. Not a break the bank new contract but hopefully a compromise can be reached. That would be my dream summer. Just to note I love nothing better than a daily dose of this site in the off season. Keep up the great work Eds!

I am a person that thinks anyone who puts the Red shirt on is not good enough until they prove it through their performances. with Phillips being English we will pay an inflated fee and the difference in playing 1game a week for Leeds to sometimes 3games in 8/ 9days for Liverpool is different. the pressure and the expectation is different. but from what I have seen thus far from KP he is not good enough to play at the level required.

There have been a considerable number of players in recent seasons who have failed to pass muster on this very forum, who have gone on to do ‘quite well’, winning Premier League, Champions League titles and various other bits and pieces.

To say he ain’t good enough for Liverpool is laughable! We currently have Henderson Milner and Keita in those positions! He plays over them every day of the week for me! I’m not saying they don’t have anything to offer, Henderson and Milner character wise add serious value but in pure footballing terms Phillips is an upgrade on 4 or 5 of the current central midfielders we have. How can englands player of the year not be good enough for Liverpool.

Strong rumours surfacing of a possible deal for Fabio carvalho from Fulham. Although out of contract at end of the season a compensation fee would be due to Fulham. A deal may be made for a reasonable fee before the window closes loaning him back to Fulham for the rest of the season. Looks a proper player!
