Edd001 do you think there's attitude problems within the team? Some telling body language now from a few big earners now and their performance matches it.

{Ed001's Note - yes, we have gone backwards to the time before Klopp when players turn up for big games and coast the rest. It is a sign of lax discipline usually. One of the problems with perservering with a player like Keita is that he brings the attitude down by not being professional enough. Having players like that round the squad drags it down as much as having Milner around can raise it.}

Good point, Ed001.
Milner is the worst player that I love. Who can forget his tears after the 4-0 Barcelona?
As Roy Keane would say, you'd want him with you in a nightclub brawl.
Not that he'd be in a nightclub ?.

But wasn’t Keita not here last year when we nearly won the quadruple? Cannot believe we are pinning all on a guy who’s leaving in 3 months! How about Mr Klopp and his team failing to do their very basic job of motivating the players!

Spot on, Ed01. It was painful to watch to the point that I felt like going into pitch and giving the players a proper kick up the arse to get moving. And with no Hendo and Milner starting and VVD showing that he is and NEVER has been captain material imo, things were not going to get better either.

On another note Ed01, do you think we went back to this wretched possession system for this game cos you said back in the day that this was the idea Klopp signed of on when playing lesser teams?

{Ed001's Note - I don't know as I haven't seen the game yet. I have been busy moving home.}

Were we far better for the last 35 mins when Hendo took the armband?

Please explain Oli why you think why VVD “never is and NEVER has been captain material”

Assume we had Millie playing yesterday, what do you think would have been done differently on the pitch?

I don't think anyone really thinks that Keita contributed much to our nearly quadruple season.
I think a lot of people know that Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago and Milner contributed though.

I think you will find Keita played more games than any of those players last season Rigsby and from memory when he didn’t play or was pulled early (in 1 game) those are the games we didn’t win. Certainly in the PL.

Irish, VVD is a fantastic player but isn’t a good club captain for Liverpool. He seems to do well for Holland as captain but each game for your country is a special occasion personally, so he won’t need any added motivation. For us, he’s lackadaisical and is negatively affecting the team whereas previously he was an enormous positive.
I would imagine one of the reasons Milner has been kept around so long is to maintain standards, as without him the likes of VVD, Trent and a few others start smelling themselves and slacking off.

Hendo has captained us in plenty of defeats this morning.

I have no idea what we expect our captain to be doing to the other 10 players on the pitch during 90 mins.

I’ve played a decent level of sport all my life and I’ve had many a bad game. But not once in my life have I ever come off the pitch thinking that probably was the captains fault I played or the team played poorly.

Did Keita really play more games than Henderson and Fabinho last season, Irish? I'd be very surprised if he did.
Even if he did, he didn't contribute as much as any of the named players.

IR, VVD has never been valt material at LFC vis near each time he is capt, his game suffers and yesterday was latest evidence of that. He has shown no improvement in this regard cos he tries to do too much and ends up stinking up the joint. VVD is a leader in other ways but as capt? He is not built for that at LFC, imo.

Milner is a better captain at the club than LFC would ever be and the proof is there cos Milner keeps getting extended by Klopp. Oh and nothing would have changed with Milner on the pitch starting with the wretched way we were playing either. Peace.

Interesting stat Rigsby. Out of 12 games Keita started in the PL last season, Liverpool amassed 34 points. One other game he did start tho but got taken off after 9 minutes or so with an injury, Liverpool went on to get beat (West Ham I think) . Just goes to show what you can do with 10 men ??‍♂️.

Did Keita start more games than Henderson and Fabinho though?
It is an interesting stat but my point was how much did Keita contribute? Did he contribute much to the 34 points from 12 games?
