Most frustrating transfer window since the days of Roy Hodgson where we sold Mascherano and brought in Poulsen - one of the worst ever players to put on a red shirt. Hodgson was dealt a bad hand but made it worse for himself with his mediocrity and narrow mindset.

I know, fancy buying a 23 year old World Cup winner and one of the hottest talents in Europe both in positions we desperately needed - what a mess!

That’s the problem with some new posters - are they trolls trying to wind up our fan base or glory hunters who compare us to clubs who have bottomless pits of cash.

Ed2 says we are looking at bringing in at least one more player and I agree. We had preferred targets and they preferred elsewhere. Get over it. Personally I’m looking forward to a few 4-3 wins hiding behind the back of the sofa….

Mascherano wanted to leave and forced his way out. We had no cash due to our then-owners and had to literally scrape the bottom of the barrel for players to cover holes. We were a sinking ship back then and all our good players wanted out. I don't think it is comparable to the situation we have now.

It’s getting very hard to tell the difference!

I can’t even begin to understand how this window can be as worse a window as that one… bearing in mind we have had summer windows since where we haven’t really signed anyone!

Are people really not happy with Mac Alister and Szoboszlai? I think they’re great additions.

Rigsby, they walked away spouting the same hyperbolic stuff you just read and went to bed. Only to find out the next morning that we came back from the dead and won Ol’ Big Ears. Just a guess, btw.

With posts like the OP and OneKiss, I wonder how these were holding up when we hadn’t won the title in 30 years and won a League Cup in 13 years from ‘06 to ‘19 when we win Ol’ Big Ears in Madrid.
