Hi guys.

Didn't watch the game on the weekend live so I've had a chance to watch it twice (I'm bored, okay? ) and after reflection, I think we have a good team already on paper that is still undercooked due to the missing pieces we are trying to get and most importantly, this wretched system we are playing and Klopp's strange decisions in his selection. So please, hear me out.

First off, I'm glad that many of us are now realizing that this whole inverted it box midfield schtick is a shambles for well documented reasons. The gaps it leaves at the back is just insane and I don't understand how anyone can see these problems and say, "Yeah, we'll keep it" but that's just me do it should be ditched ASAP.

Selection wise, who thought it was a good idea to start Gakpo instead of aJones as the 8 on the left? And why did Klopp start and leave Jota on the pitch for as long as he did? The guy was invisible for the most part and Darwin did more in half the time in the pitch than Jota did. This is where poor selection and overthinking things gets you.

On to our potential. On the face of this, we already have a good to very good team on paper and the joy and positivity from the game is that both Mac10 and Szobo will be very good for us should they be played in their true positions. Mac20 is just brilliant on the ball and as a passer. He's not a DM and should never play there again. Szobo is brilliant and will show it. If we can put Trent in mid with Bradley at RB, that ensures that we have fluidity and quality throu the midfield and we saw in our first goal how things can click into gear when we are on it. That move was prolly the best I've seen us execute for months. Moreover, This will also help the defence as they will have the protection they need and not allow them to get stretched out which is all Chelsea did via our own doing via the dangers this system presents in transition.

All the above is just stuff I could observe via one game and our transfer business is nowhere near being done. Should we get the DM and CB in the door, ditch this system, play the players in their right positions and allow Darwin and Gakpo to fight for the CF and let them cook up top and if we can press effectively, I think we can do bits this season. Up Da Pool!

So it was a good idea to start Gakpo on the left instead of an actual midfielder in Jones but you are unhappy with Jota starting?

Jones should have started LCM. Gakpo was ineffectual there. Jota was doing well until he got clattered in a follow through and then disappeared.

Exactly, @SR. You should give reading and comprehension lessons to the public but I reckon you won't come cheap cos some people need help in this domain on this forum based on these responses to my comment. Sad, indeed.

Harry or @Habibi (or whatever your username du jour is), you don't need to be a football visionary to see that Gakpo in the 8 or Jota in the CF position did not work and infact, we were playing with 9 men at times. James and Darwin came on for both and we were a lot better. Anyone including you who watches our games with your eyes wide shut could have seen that.

N btw, I was not trying to copy any one. All I did was give an opinion based on what I observed and deduced that we are not as far away as many esp. in the media will have us believe BUT since neither you nor @Juicer could even understand nor comprehend what I was saying in one tiny part of my post, it would be a futile venture for me to expect both of you to grasp the whole idea of what I actually wrote. So before you embarrass yourselves again, read and comprehend comments properly before you respond. Just a thought.
