Anyone else seen the article on TIA quoting Ljinders taking the 'credit' for the inverted full back system change?

Even stated he'd bet his salary on it working.

Yes, yes saw it already. They should deduct all the damage done from his salary and then make him work for the next two years for free. ?

Sorry, but Herr Klopp is not free from blame for having listened, and continuing to listem, to the fool in the first place.

Agree ArAy, Klopp needs to earn his money and start dictating the team himself again. We’ve gone from having an absolutely fantastic system to an utter disaster since Lijnders got his hands on it.

There is a reason he got sacked by a Dutch 2nd division team and nobody has offered him a number 1 role since. Guardiola’s assistant regularly get offered jobs, nobody touches Lijnders with a 10 foot pole

I’m aware I’m probably being too harsh on him. But I’m going to do it anyway because I find him really irritating, he’s like a Dutch Brendan Rodgers - but even more David Brent-like.

Its not a bad style of play but we just don't have the right players. . We just have 3 world defenders that are the requirements for this style.

Not sure Klopp really cares about all that cos he ain't that insecure and to him, the credit is shared among the staff so if one is out there tooting his own horn then, I bet he is fine with it. Just my take.

Have I missed something? We were doing badly until we changed the system. We are 13 games unbeaten since, is the system perfect no, but what is? Other teams will always find gaps in any system, but it is up to the coaching staff to counteract that.

Not all great coaches, make great managers. Ljinders may have got the sack as a manager, but Klopp has always praised him for his coaching abilities. You may not like the system, but I think for now it is here to stay.

To those who say we're winning with this new hybrid system, so what's the big deal? Comparison is always with a point of reference. If you compare the last 13 games with the first 25, then yes the new system is better because the form earlier last season was disastrous. But if your point of reference is the year or two before then we are still not near that form or performance levels. And that's why there is a worry. We won titles with that earlier form and system, why can't it be done again? This new hybrid system just corrected the earlier issues of last year. Am not sure it makes us title contenders as before.
