Magnificent, dominant performance! Absolutely humiliated Utd, who were so pedestrian and probably should have been down to 10 men before half time.

Amazing to see our progress since our win at Anfield against them at the beginning of the season, when we were comfortable, but not dominant. Couldn't be happier.

Great team performance in the second half. And, significantly, some very good individual performances from a few of the players who have struggled recently - Johnson, Agger, Skrtl, Mignolet - kept us solid.

Played lads! Up to 2nd.

Very relieved with the win after a pretty shambolic performance.

We were rescued by a brilliant first half performance by Sturridge, Henderson's hard work (and goals!) and Allen's introduction, which gave us an extra body in midfield.

In truth, though, we were very luck to get the three points - not for the first time this season.

The centre of our defence is an absolute disaster zone. Hard to think who I'd like to play alongside Sakho once he comes back.

We're not much better at full-back - Flanno did OK (no more today), but GJ was poor again and doesn't deserve to displace Cissokho, who is at least solid defensively.

After two or three absolutely storming games, Gerrard was badly exposed in the middle again today, much as he was against Villa at home. With Henderson more advanced, Coutinho relatively anonymous, and the full-backs being dominated by Swansea's wingers, there was just far too much work for Gerrard to do. When the opposition are pressing us at home, we either need Henderson and Coutinho to both stick closer to Gerrard or we may need Allen to come in.

Add to all that the fact that Suarez looked jaded (though his class still led to two goals) and it might look like we've got a few problems. However, I've thought that at various points throughout the season and we keep on getting the results and pulling out fantastic moments just when we needed them, so maybe I should worry less and keep on enjoying the roller-coaster!

Ultimately, great character shown by the lads, just like against Fulham - and another vital three points!

Great result, fantastic performances all round tonight from the boys. Ecstatic!

Just one thing upsetting me - the stick Cissokho's still getting from some of our fans. Example on Twitter tonight: "I'm not racist, but I hate Aly Cissokho". (Suspect the poster may have betrayed himself there.)

I appreciate he's not the greatest on the ball, but he's generally very solid - works prodigiously, great positionally, decent pace, gives me few worries.

Whether he stays or goes in the summer, can we please all get behind him for the rest of the season - he might prove quite an important player for us.

Watching Rooney's petulance is reminding me of Suarez's admirable restraint. He's been kicked about all season - with scandalous lack of protection, not least today - but just keeps soaking it up. I appreciate he got booked today, but even then he seemed as sinned against as sinner. I think we're very lucky he hasn't picked up an injury yet this season. If he'd got hurt or we hadn't ended up winning today, we'd all be ranting about the referee again.

Should Brendon make a fuss about referees' failure to protect him, or might that be counter-productive?

Players' mental health is a really important topic, thanks Big Al for raising it. Welcome respite from all that talk about money.

I hope the club have a good system in place for identifying and treating issues. If not, there's a fantastic local charity called YPAS (Young Persons Advisory Service) that offers counselling, emotional and practical support to young people under the age of 25. The club could do a lot worse than engage YPAS to develop a support programme for our young players. I'm sure it would have positive knock-on benefits for the team's performance.
