Arsenal fan here, we have just had one of your fans on our page and he thinks your going to take utds place in the top 4, now I think this is a joke, and he also said your bigger than any club in England, which is another joke maybe in the 80s yes but u haven't won a league title for 20+years and won't win one while Iam alive, and I'd like to ask you all a serious question, do u get embarrassed with the fans that say this is our year every year but u always fall short very short

Do you get embarrassed of all those selfies your players are taking or the thousands of similarly opined fans you have on twitter?

There will always be people who have strong opinions. Why did you feel the need to ask such an inane question here?

2.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 20:55:44
Not really. It will be "our year" at some stage but i would not come harping onto this page about deluded Liverpool fans. Its a fair while since Arsenal won the league and even longer the European Cup. Remind me how long that has been??

It is what it is . Your knocking on 12 yr now also . U must have been a pup when you last won it . Remember your not a big club unless u got any ⭐️On your name . So basically in your adult supporting life you've saw no top honor . Forget the this year rubbish , it's other fans who make that up , we will be good this year . Top 4 I'd say . We wasn't that far off it last yr with no striker . Remedied that .

Strange. I had a high opinion of Arsenal fans, and a grudging admiration for the way your club is run, even though I hated your guts when I first started watching football.
Silly on my part, I guess.

6.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:06:14
Thats why we fall "very short" you say? So that's why we missed out on the title by two points a couple of years back and that's why we missed out by four points a few years before that. When was the last time arsenal mounted a title challenge?
Oh and btw we are the biggest club in England. Not one of us get embarrassed by those comments

bit rich from an arsenal fan ain't it, its only recent times you won your first trophy in a decade lol and about getting in the champions league youve got in 17 years straight now right . how many times have u won it? .

So we won't win the league in your live time? What a pity you'll be dead before next may then. 😉

13.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:44:57
I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would visit another club page.

Word of advice mate, don't fall for it.

Anyway, there are idiots in every club.

You're wrong when you say that we fall verybshort after nearly winning the league, but hey, that's history and we all know Liverpool fans aren't supposed to talk about that.

14.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 21:46:03
The only fans that should be embarrassed are your fans I do recall only 8 months ago the gunners booing there team and manger off the pitch .get your ducks in line son before you start chirping .oh and one other point when did you last win the European cup .two FA cups in ten years is shite we've won more than that and were in the shite so everyone tells us .

15.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 22:12:17
I take it all back! Arsenal have already done the treble! The Emirates Cup, Barclays Asia Trophy and the Community Shield. I just wish we could trade all 18 of our league titles for these!😉

16.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 22:14:42
Oh god, Arsenal win a community shield and the fans already think they're in contention for the title😂

17.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 22:11:51
There are 2 clubs in England who are miles ahead of the rest in terms of size, Liverpool and United.
Others may have better teams at the moment, others may have more recent success and others may have more money but you can't escape the facts
Despite no title for 20+ years it's still Liverpool who are with United and then the rest
Suck it up

{Ed002's Note - Huddersfield Town in the 20s and 30s were as big as Liverpool were in the 1970s - similar time gap Chris. You need to get over this "size" issue - as your wife told you, it's not the meat it's the motion.}

18.) 02 Aug 2015
02 Aug 2015 23:05:34
Crybaby, you must be on that stuff our owner said they smoke a lot of at the emirates. You've won a pathetic two trophies in over a decade and you will NEVER win the league again because your club isn't interested in winning or challenging for it. Every year, your manager talks about a title challenge yet by Feb, you are already vying for your annual top four trophy and you've got the nerve to mouth off about LFC because you won your second trophy in over a decade. You run your mouth about playing in the CL each year YET you don't have one in your name while other "big" clubs like Forest with two and Villa with one have the big star on their crest. You are a deluded fan who comes to other clubs' pages to run your mouth. Memo to deluded gunner: LFC can screw up till the end, you are not in our class when it comes to trophies and European pedigree. We have EIGHT European trophies to your one. FIVE CL trophies to your NONE. And more league titles than you. We haven't won the PL in over two decades yet we are still ahead of you on that count. What does that say about your club? If you haven't won the CL, you are not a big club. Got it? Good!

19.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 00:00:38
Anyone else hoping we make top 4 at the expense of arsenal now?

20.) 03 Aug 2015

i strongly suspect crybaby may not be a gooner

21.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 05:42:45
Sorry Ed002 but that is utter nonsense

{Ed001's Note - Blackpool were bigger than us at one time too. It is not nonsense Chris, it is simply the way it is. You only stay a big club by winning big trophies, particularly the league.}

22.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 08:09:03
Eds, I don't agree with your interpretation of what it means to be a big club.

So when City won their second EPL, did that suddenly make them bigger than Liverpool? Despite the fact they still can't even sell out half of a big stadium in another continent? Being a big club comes down to a lot more than recent trophy success.

{Ed001's Note - no one said that suddenly made them bigger, but it does close the gap, and each year we fail to win the Prem and they are up there competing for it, the gap will get smaller. If they start having success in Europe, they will soon catch us up, as the next generation are already shifting over. When you go outside of the UK, you will see that being with Warrior in recent years (and I have little doubt the issue will remain with New Balance too) has hurt us badly. Kids in other countries end up being given another team's shirt, because the parents can't buy a Liverpool one as no one stocks Warrior products. That is a few year's of young kids not being exposed to Liverpool around the world, and it will affect us if we are not able to turn their heads back our way with trophies.}

23.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 09:48:40
I would argue it's even more volatile than that. If you look at the attendances in Asia for the pre-season following our 'nearly year' compared to this pre-season you can see the fall off.

Yes, they blamed it on bad advertising, but I don't buy that. Asia, where there is big merchandising potential, is in danger of passing us by if we don't perform in the league.

24.) 03 Aug 2015
03 Aug 2015 10:26:44
I agree with you there Ed, I guess I ironically misinterpreted what you and ed2 2 were saying. We do need to pick up our game though.

{Ed001's Note - it is worrying, especially as we are handicapped by our choice of kit manufacturers. Whatever the money on offer, the lack of exposure around the world due to no one being able to buy a kit is a massive disadvantage.}

LFc fans

Before we start listing trophies won over a period of time, let's reign ourselves in so we don't look slightly stupid.

Yes, our record is absolutely phenomenal and we can quite rightly held ourselves up there as the most successful English Club ever.

That's no good to my Son, or daughter.

since our CL triumph in Istanbul we have won the League Cup, that's it.

I remember at school laughing at UTD fans who would tell me they were the best team in England - they weren't, we were

Just keep in perspective how long it has been since we have genuinely competed on a consistent basis.

Over confidence and hyping ourselves up breeds expectation, when expectations aren't met then that's when people start calling for heads to roll.

need to be realistic over where we are now - we are not the LFC of the 70s and 80s and to measure ourselves against them will result in only one outcome - always falling short.

I myself would be extremely happy for a top 4 finish and a Cup win - although I see both as being particularly hard to achieve
