Just seen on the sky sport app that real may be interested in Robertson, this is probably rubbish and I know it is way down on LFC list at the moment, but at what point to we start to look for a Robbo replacement? Just interested in thoughts, if you can answer when, who would you like to replace Robbo?

I doubt Klopp or anyone would even entertain of letting robbo go or start worrying about other positions when we have massive Work to do in our midfield and defense.

Tsimikas may leave though and if that happens, we would need to consider bringing in another left-back who can hopefully be a successor to Robertson.

Luke Chambers has done quite well while on loan so he deserves a chance to be looked at during pre-season. The plus point is that he is comfortable playing in the centre as well as at LB so the system we are playing may suit him. But, he is still untested at the highest level and it remains to be seen if he has the ability to be a deputy to Robertson.

Nobody is irreplaceable. We have had more than £9m’s worth of value out of Robbo. I’d say he would fall into the category of ‘if a decent offer was made’….

It would be interesting to see what the club would do and it would also be interesting to know if we move to the ‘3 box 3’ system if the club considers Robbo as the ideal man to play on the left.

I hasten to add I’m not necessarily advocating getting rid of Robbo, I’m just putting different scenarios forwards.

I personally would let him go if a 30 40 million offer came in for him.
Now this isn't an attack on a player who gives 110 percent, but more a view on somebody I feel looked a lot better playing along side class players like Virgil, Gini and Mane.
Last season he was is normal Duracell bunny self, and I would never have ago at the players effort. but he rarely stopped crosses coming in to the box, gave the ball away most of the time he made a forward pass, hardly beat the first man when he crossed the ball. And his shooting in the box was so poor.
I honestly think he got away from criticism because of what he had done previously for us.
With the right players around him he could still contribute to the team.
I might get slaughtered for my opinion but I would much prefer us to get a player in who could play a centre half/ left back role and in a back 3 when we attack.
We have more than enough players who can give us width on the left. Diaz Cody, Curtis and even Nunez.
Would I sell Robbo for 30 million plus? In a heartbeat.

From what Ed002 has said recently about Tsmiskas agent stating that the club have tried to force him out it wouldn’t be good squad management for us in the space of 1 window going from having arguably the best Left back and best back up left back in the league to selling both and having neither.

6.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 07:56:56
I think the fact he cost 9mil means there’s zero pressure to recoup a big fee for him. Bigger priorities this window, probs next summer we need to buy the next Robbo and let them fight it out.

7.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 08:09:54
My goodness if we start selling the likes of Robbo we are going to need 8 new players. It can’t all be done in one window. Robbo has not been good but still much better than most other players recently.

8.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 08:19:17
I’d be shocked if Champions League teams weren’t sniffing around our top players tbh
We won’t get back init for a while, the big one would be if someone wanted Ali.
He’s in my opinion, still the best goalkeeper in the world.

If we're persisting with this new system, Robbo is a bit of a square peg in a round hole anyway. Poor running of the club over the last few years means he's one of the few sellable assets we have left. He's sellable for now, but his value is only going to drop from here and if we can squeeze £50 million out of him it can be re-invested. Another club legend, but it may be time to let him go.

The alternative is to have him still at the club in his mid 30s running on empty and not able to contribute, while everyone moans about him and we end up losing him on a free. We've been down that road too many times now.

10.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 08:48:28
We will be back in champions league when we win the league next season.

11.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 08:54:39
We have 3 of the best young left backs coming through the academy. Owen Beck, Luke Chambers and Callum Scanlon.
I think we should start bringing them through and giving them game time.
So I can see why we are looking to move on one of our left backs.
I believe Ed02 if he says it's Kostas.

12.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:00:37
It really depends I guess on if the club is going to start selling players when they have any value. Not saying now is the right time for Robbo but for example we have four players leaving on a free this season. Would of been better selling for 5/ 10mill.

13.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:13:17
JK23, would you be comfortable with Tsimikas as first choice if Robbo was sold?

14.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:16:11
I think if we were to sell one of either Robbo or Tsimi, then we would definitely keep the other one. I’d add again that I wouldn’t be in a rush to sell ether but, as they say, everybody has their price.

15.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:27:43
50 million? Robbo is a super left back but the football world has gone completely bananas if someone is willing to offer that much for him.
He cost us comparatively peanuts so keep him until the young lads are ready to take over.
50 million? Really?

You must see some upside in how we finished this season LiverpoolFC8.

Nothing is a foregone conclusion either way next season other than city getting champions league in my eyes.

I actually think Liverpool have a seriously good chance next season at champions league but we need a good summer, good pre season and a few players like Nunez, Jones, Bajectic to take more steps in their development.

I don't see any gap between us and Arsenal, Newcastle, Man United that can't be made up with a few decent transfers and performing better. We are not a Bellingham, Mbappe away from these teams. We more like a Thuram, Lavia, Mac allaister, Ugarte, Caicedo, Ndicka, Van DER Wen, Lindstrom, Timber etc. Etc. Etc. Type players away.

Liverpool will still attract some seriously good players so the chances are very positive.

There's been some seriously gloomy times as an LFC fan where it was impossible to see us qualifying for the comp but this is far far away from those times thankfully. It's all ahead of us. Don't get too down.

17.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:32:54
Great points on us not losing players on frees and selling them whilst they still have a value. Most sellable assets are probably Alison and Salah who are also older than Robbo.

Quite a few more come in the older category in the current squad Thiago, Matip, Hendo and Vvd.

18.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 09:38:35
Irish I’m a massive Robbo fan but Tsmiskas is a great understudy.

If I had to choose then I’d pick Robbo ahead of Tsimikas but if we have to sell to raise funds and Klopp chooses that player to be Robbo then it is what it is.

It’s never a good look though when you’re selling first team players to raise funds to invest on improving your first team.

Perhaps the sale of Robbo will pay off the stadium uplift loan which will allow more dividends for share holders in what’s been a disappointing season for them in regards to prize money.

19.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 10:16:55
We need to be more savvy in the transfer market. We can’t compete with the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle and even united. What we should be doing is selling our stars when their value is high and building the team like we did with Suarez and coutinho . I know they forced their moves but the money they generated helped us buy Alison and vvd. If we keep losing players on frees then we’ll be in more rubbish than we are now.

20.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 11:12:56
Why won't we be back in it for a while?! We have one of the best managers in the world, we will invest in new players and I'm confident we will be right back up there next season. Some people need to give their head a wobble. Lots of doubters.

21.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 11:55:06
I would fear for us with Tsimikas as 1st choice leftback. If the club are trying to get rid in the hope of raising £20m i think they are totally right. Has been poor all season when given a chance and i'd happily let Chambers take his games.

22.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 11:55:07
Utd, Newcastle and Arsenal have had their best seasons in years and we’ve had our worst and we’re literally right behind the first 2.

I think it’s safe to say there’s the big possibility that we will improve next season from this ten fold. But will the other 3 improve is the big question.

City seem on a different level at the moment and that’s a whole new conversation.

23.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 13:21:33
I don't think there is much to split Robbo and Tsimikas. Robbo probably a better wind up merchant and Tsimikas takes better set pieces. Aside from that they're pretty level in my eyes.

I wouldn't lose sleep if we sell one of the other to reinvest into other areas of the team. Especially as we haven't really played with an orthodox left back for about 9 games in a row.

24.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 13:34:54
I think Robbo has had a poor season, but to say there isn't much between the two seems a bit harsh on Robbo in my opinion. His assist record speaks for itself. Obviously Tsiikas doesn't play very often, but when he does, his crossing always seem poor to me. That could well be rustiness from not getting regular playing time, but I would not want him as 1st choice LB going into the new season.

25.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 14:12:47
Robbo is captain material if hendo isn't playing for me. forget virg he needs to concentrate on his game.
As for beingg out of the champions league for a while. we'll win europa next season anyway and possibly make top 4 also.

26.) 24 May 2023
24 May 2023 20:30:19
And Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, City and probably Newcastle will also invest in new players and should also improve, difference being each of those probably have more money to invest and 4 of them are already ahead of us and all have had bad spells this season, just not as bad as our poor season.

27.) 25 May 2023
25 May 2023 01:15:27
It really depends on how well they invest and whether their new signings improve them or make them worse. Out of those clubs mentioned, I would say that Arsenal and Chelsea don't have a good track record of improving their squad. Arteta seems to prefer buying mediocre players over playing talents he already has at his disposal. Saliba and Balogun comes to mind. It is a miracle in of itself that Saliba still agreed to stay at Arsenal this season after the way he was treated by Arteta.

The jury is still out on Chelsea though. It depends on who their new coach or manager is, and how much the owners are interfering with the transfers. Doesn't if they can spend loads but still not improve their squad.

Utd is in a midst of a takeover and even their fans are unsure if the current owners would make funds available for transfers.

On the other hand, City are just City. Newcastle have shown that they can buy well instead of splashing cash mindlessly and seems to have a good system in place.

28.) 25 May 2023
25 May 2023 09:39:47
You heard it here first. Arsenal will not make Top 4 next season.
