I was wondering if one of the eds knew anything regarding interest in Matheus Biteco of Gremio? There was an article by Sambafoot regarding us scouting him but do any of the eds have any info on him.

Also I was wondering if we held any interest in Geoffrey Kondogbia of Sevilla? They are in poor financial state and he is a quality DM. There was talk of 2 or more PL clubs having an interest in him.

Cheers {Ed002's Note - Bitco I can't help with.

Kondogbia only moved last summer but Juventus would like to take him in the summer and Begiristain has said he is interested in the player and feels that the club can work with him to be a long term replacement for Yaya Torre. Monaco has asked about his availability whilst Real Madrid are looking to a deal for him that could see a player, Jese Rodriguez, included in the transaction on a loan, sale, or sale to buy back deal.}

Those quotes came out on 28th June prior to the latest reports of buds from Crystal Palace. Plus his agent is not going to come out and say that he's angling for move away.

And that makes the news even more believable.

Hey guys, just thought I'd get people's views on starting Origi and Sturridge up front with Coutinho as the attacking mid with Can as defensive mid with Lallana and Allen either side of him in midfield. Then have Flanno, Sakho, Lovren and Smith in defence with Migs in net against the Saints.

Love to hear what you guys think.
Cheers in advance.

This would allow us to press well, while giving Firmino, Hendo and Clyne some rest and get them refreshed for upcoming fixtures.

Where does firmino fit in?! prob been our best attacking player.

2.) 18 Mar 2016 20:08:14
I expect the same team to start against Southampton. Except Milner who is suspended for Flanno / Moreno.

3.) 18 Mar 2016 21:25:46
Henderson is a doubt, and I expect Allen to come into the team for him, and if Milner is suspended, and Moreno unavailable, Flanagan should come into the RB spot, pushing Clyne to the LB slot.

4.) 18 Mar 2016 22:24:31
Expect Benteke to play .

5.) 18 Mar 2016 23:25:16
no chance I would leave Firmino out against Southampton, wonderful player.

6.) 19 Mar 2016 00:49:41
I'd leave Clyne RB and put Flanno LB, he's played there more for us. Flanno played RB v City specifically to nullify Sterling, otherwise I doubt we'd have seen the switch.

7.) 19 Mar 2016 02:38:33
You've left out Firmino

If I were to play a diamond against Southampton I'd go Benteke/ Sturridge upfront, Firmino in behind them and a Coutinho/ Can/ Hendo midfield.

I suspect Klopp will go with what we had against the Mancs and fit Flanno in at LB

Llalana/ Allen/ Can lacks something defensively IMO.

8.) 19 Mar 2016 09:48:47
Mignolet
Clyne lovren sakho flanno
Hendo can
Lallana firmino coutinho
Sturridge

On current form team picks itself and i feel this is the best formation to suit the players. If hendo hasn't recovered then Allen comes in. Would give origi 30 mins in place of sturridge as he's looked impressive when coming on.

I've read a lot on here in regards to who will be Suarez's replacement, but I personally don't think we will look to find an individual as a direct replacement for Suarez. I rather think that we will look to Aspas and Mkhitaryan as being a combined replacement for Suarez and Downing in the starting XI. I don't think Downing will be sold (unless we receive a decent offer), but rather he will be used as a decent squad player.

In my view Aspas and Mkhitaryan combined will carry Suarez's goal scoring burden. With Suarez and Downing scoring a combined 26 goals and assisting 10 goals in the league last season, I think Aspas and Mkhitaryan will be able to contribute more goals and assists. This will also help get goals from more players and be less reliant on fewer players. Thereby taking some of the burden of key players and allowing them to play more freely.

I think we will have more attacking options next season with a attacking starting quartet of Coutinho on left, Sturridge in centre, Aspas on right and Mkhitaryan behind Sturridge. With the likes of Borini, Luis Alberto, Sterling and Suso providing cover.

I'd like to hear other people's views on this please.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that Klopp wanted peace of mind that he'd be here for the long run. He likes projects and he spent 7 years at Mainz, 7 years at Dortmund and if he stays till 2022 which is how long the new contract is for, then he'd have spent close to 7 years with us too!

Ed would do you make of Cech? I heard he learnt the language of the defenders in front of him so it would be easier for him to tailor his instructions to the player and so organise the defence.

RedWisdom

{Ed002's Note - Petr Cech can speak Czech & Slovak, German, French, English, and reasonable & Italian. He did not learn these to speak to the defenders at Arsenal.}

Fanobip did you see the pitch we were playing on today? Risking first team players who have been training at a high risk level of training on a pitch of that state would likely see them injured. I'm pleased that Klopp had the sense to give youth a chance while allowing our crucial first team players to recover for a big game. There's no arrogance in his decision to field that starting XI today.
