Ive used this site for a number of years now, sometimes commenting other times just reading and observing the comments made, some of those i have agreed with and others i havent. My team has and always will be Liverpool, i have grown up watching and following them, and over the last 20+ years i have hoped that this year would be our year, and ending the season mainly on a downer (like so many others have). This season i again have my hopes and wishes yet deep down i know they will be dashed but still i will carry on supporting the reds.We as a team are not far from competing for trophies or even getting into the top 4, whether we can sustain the level needed to stay there only other seasons will tell us. I feel if we do sign benteke and my wish kovacic the team will have a good chance. Now others will say but utd city chelsea arsenal have bought this and that player making them stronger, but in the same breath so have stoke spurs everton crystal palace etc, My team as i have said is Liverpool and i don't care about any other team what they do who they buy etc. Come the weekends it is and always will be 11 versus 11 and i know which 11 i will be following. let's get behind our team whether its old players or new players, give them the support only reds followers can give I hope this post doesn't cause too many disagrees and i aplogise for it being so long.

If you're not here to slag off Allen, Skrtel, Rodgers, FSG or Benteke then I'm afraid you're not welcome.

There's no place for supporters like you. This site is for abusing people at the club or asking the Eds about Reus, Turan and Kovacic.

Well said Billcee

3.) 14 Jul 2015 13:10:24
EMS,

I usually dislike your posts but that made me chuckle.

4.) 14 Jul 2015 13:15:00
Slagging Rodgers is fair game.

5.) 14 Jul 2015 13:33:01
And so say all of us the silent majority lol 😁

6.) 14 Jul 2015 15:18:28
I agree with Ems.

So it looks like sterling may finally get his wish to leave. whether this is going to be a good move for him only time will tell. No matter what a player achieves at a club they always want to try something new, my only regret is the way it has been dealt with. So onto other matters, it is not something new as to whom we are after in the transfer market regarding a striker the eds have for so long informed us of benteke. This guy terrorised us on a number of occasions, i for one hope that we spend the money on him and anything left we put towards kovacic. Yesterday i read of someones post who thinks the top 4 is already sorted due to players like vidal and swinesteiger being signed and that we are in a fight with spurs for lower places. i'm sorry to disagree with that post i think we could have a very strong team capable of challenging the others and qualifying in those sacred 4 places. The new season is not yet on us so let's leave behind all that has happened and now get behind our team and our new signings, let them know they are welcome and as long as they give their all we will truly believe.

It was me who wrote it and I dare you or anyone else to find one non LFC supporter anywhere in the world of football who think us or Spurs have a realistic chance to get in the top 4. And this is when the assumption is we get Benteke. At the moment there are more and more reports that ManU will bid for him while we don't seem to be in a hurry to do so and I cannot see him prefer us on them if they will bid for him. And Pedro seems to be joining Chelsea, not a bad signing either. Sterling and Gerrad have scored 16 for us last season, I am still not convinced we have found replacement for them let alone got stronger.

Again, I hate to be the ever pessimist and I understand that as this is pre season summer people here want to be optimistic otherwise what is the point to follow the team. But I always try to be realistic and make predictions not based on my love for LFC but on squad, manager etc. It is sport and anything can happen but I think for long time the gap between the top 4 and us has not been as big as it is this summer.

2.) 12 Jul 2015 13:19:06
Pedro is joining Chelsea? Where do you get all this? The daily star???

3.) 12 Jul 2015 13:33:22
Agree with fan, why people disagree baffles me! We don't just have to bridge the gap to 4th we have to exceed that gap as everyone else gets stronger. Man U midfield next year is going to be epic! Watch them fly. If the get Big Ben then he will score a load of goals and we will be stick with injury prone sturridge, can't be bothered balo. Big useless lump lambert and I really want to do well but I'm crap borrini. I was voted worst in the league origi. And I'm free so get me ings. Lol yes we started the window well but the top 4 soon make a few quality signings and ours start to look what they are!

4.) 12 Jul 2015 13:53:22
Fano, I agree with your view that being realistic and candid about our chance based on hard facts and recent poor history of the manager and club. As for the gap being wider btw us and the top four, only time will tell because until the games are played, we will not really know. We could have made top four last season in spite of our failures in the first half of the season. That tells you that there is not really that big a gap because the PL is getting poorer by the season. Sp based on that, only time will tell.

I have to disagree with the doom and gloom. For a start the 16 goals by Gerrard & Sterling we are going to miss? Sorry but most of Gerrards goals were penalties so I'm sure the player who takes them next season will not miss them all. Also Gerrard was very much on decline last season, which a lot of fans with red tinted glasses will disagree, but the evidence is there in red & white. Well of the pace, passing, shooting & tackling all dipped. By no means am I slating him I just think it was one season too far for him & was not up to his standards. Sterling missed a million more chances than the ones he scored, his finishing is woeful & his greed at time & decision making has been horrendous for 18 months, I've believed the lad has been believing his own hype ever since he went to the World Cup & I think he thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. I think massively over rated & Ibe is far better. I actually think with them 2 gone along with Johnson, Borini & Mad Mario we'll be a better team & squad. I think Milner will hit 10 goals this season, Henderson, Lallana & Coutinho will hit double figures as will Ings, Sturridge, Firminio with Clyne & Skrtel adding a few from the back. Add a striker an that should give us another 15-20 & I believe we will challenge for honours this year

6.) 12 Jul 2015 13:55:05
Right here!

Genuine LFC supporter who thinks we'll finish top 3

7.) 12 Jul 2015 14:00:27
Fanobip. I think you are being too pessimistic. The transfer window has only been open 12 days and we have done some good business to date. A change if management up top (I wanted Brendan gone but at least we have got some good people in around him). Clyne, Milner and Firmino are good signings and don't under estimated Ings, whilst Gomez may well surprise a few.
Now Sterling is on his way Eds expect Benteke and Kovacic to follow. This will add a lot depth to the squad. Obviously we need to offload some players and it is with some concern that we may go through a period of transition again particularly with the tough set of away games but we have to think positively. We have to draw a line on last season.
If we get through to November in touch with the leading clubs we could be in for an exciting 2nd half of the season.
City and United have their own problems and whilst I expect Chelsea and Arsenal to be fighting it out a top 4 place is well in reach for a number of clubs including ourselves.

8.) 12 Jul 2015 14:02:51
That's it OG get behind the lads I love a bit of optimism

9.) 12 Jul 2015 14:27:32
Truly embarrassing stuff from og. And then these people hound ed002 when he criticizes the fans

10.) 12 Jul 2015 16:12:43
Hahahahaha, your funny you Ronald! Don't post what you are worst case hoping for, say were you genuinely think we can finish, and if you genuinely think top 3, then you have zero clue about football.

11.) 12 Jul 2015 16:33:45
Top 3 comfortably, I think we'll push for the title all the way.

12.) 12 Jul 2015 17:12:07
Oh dear Ron😕, your the antithesis of the " this year is our year " brigade who have continually embarrassed Liverpool supporters for the last 20 years.

13.) 12 Jul 2015 18:03:00
Slow your roll guys on the "well finish this or that or the title" stuff. Why? I heard all that before last season with all the money spent for the shambles we now know happened. I'm not as positive because not much so far this window, has shown we will be better than last season so I suggest that people reel in the trash talking a little bit because we went from second to sixth last season and that by any account, is failure.

Hi eds, I have a question for you in the hope you will shed some light on it. It is long known that Liverpool and Man utd haven't transferred players between the 2 clubs for about 50 years. My question is what happened between the 2 clubs to cause transfers to cease. Thankyou
