Rumours saying that Liverpool are interested in Iñaki Williams. Any truth to them?

76

{Ed002's Note - Athletic Bilbao are aware of interst in Iñaki Williams following an approach by Galatasaray and scouts from Manchester City, Juventus, Valencia, Arsenal and Everton attending matches to watch him this season. They have made it clear that they do not wish to sell.}

Any truth in the rumours linking us with Sofiane Boufal?

76

{Ed002's Note - Although Sofiane Boufal only moved to Lille in January 2015, a bid from Spurs is expected in 2016. PSG and Monaco have both had the playter watched regularly and PSG has spoken with Lille to see if some sort of deal may be possible. Arsenal and Lyon have also had the player watched this season.}

I do think Mané will turn out to be an excellent player for us.

1.) 27 Jun 2016 03:48:44
Agreed. Has skill, pace, good work rate, provides natural width and scores goals. Will take Lallana's place in the starting 11 and is definitely an upgrade on what we have.
Yes the fee is a bit on the steeper side, but with Deeney going for 20 million plus, Mane looks like a bargain.

2.) 27 Jun 2016 08:23:20
I will pay 30m for Mane before paying 20m for Deeney, that much is clear. i'm not sure about Mane's attitude but his talent is not in doubt. I hope he will come good because despite my reservations, I want all lfc players to do well and I'm not interested n the "I told you so" nonsense.

Hi eds a few reports that Liverpool are looking to get Fabio Paratici in as a Sporting Director. Any truth?

76

{Ed002's Note - It makes zero sense and sounds like an old story to me - he was perhaps a thought when Liverpool went down that road before with Comolli - and I have no idea who hew would want to bring in as manager to replace Klipperty.}

I meant do you think De Boer would be a good manager for Liverpool?

76

{Ed001's Note - I am unconvinced myself.}

1.) 03 Oct 2015 10:04:54
I'm also unconvinced. Very early in his career

We need a someone with more experience IMO

Cheers
Manny

Ed correct me if I'm wrong but before Rodgers took over I remember you saying you wanted de boer and rated him, has your opinion changed and if so why? He wouldn't be my first choice but if be brought some of those kids from Ajax with him I'd be happy. Riedewald is one that stands out for me

{Ed001's Note - I would rather have had him than Rodgers, as he at least had a track record of winning trophies. He is still not my first choice, but is better than what we have. My issue is he has never had to show any kind of tactical flexibility with Ajax. We have no idea if he is going to be able to adjust.}

Would prefer Ancelotii out of all the options available. Barca will be making an offer for Coutinho next summer according to Ed002, so we need someone who have achieved everything in the game and commands the respect to convince our best players to stay at the club an sign even better ones. Klopp could not stop lewandowski and Goetze from leaving Dortmund so i would go for Ancelotti who imo fits the profile that LFC need at this moment of time the best.

4.) 03 Oct 2015 10:20:23
If we were likely to get Carlo or such like we would of had similar instead of Rodgers, fsg won't go with someone with too much power etc

They will want another yes man as they want to remain in charge, while you have to be thankful for what fsg have done I don't believe much has changed in footballing terms since they arrived.

Yes Rodgers is massively underachieving, but have fsg really got the ambition to be fighting for titles and champions league? And is it really possible with them in charge? Can they compete with City? Utd? Chelsea? And even those 3 teams can't compete in Europe!

Just my thoughts.

5.) 03 Oct 2015 10:21:56
Who would you prefer ed? And what whoukd you like to see happen going forward to stop this mess. Seems we spend for spendings sake now, never addressing the problems and pushing people out the door who never got a chance.

{Ed001's Note - if it is not to be Ancelotti or Klopp, or possibly Emery, I would go for Pako Ayesteran. It must be said that De Boer would be an improvement on Rodgers, and so I would not be unhappy if he came in.}

6.) 03 Oct 2015 14:26:09
I would do a cartwheel if we could get emery, but agree any of the others you suggest ed would be a huge upgrade on brendan.

Still not 100% sure on fdb and i would love pako but can't see fsg take a gamble on him.

7.) 03 Oct 2015 11:41:54
How come you like Ayesteran so much?

{Ed001's Note - he proved he was an excellent coach when with us first time around and had the respect of the players.}

Hi eds what are your thoughts of Frank De Boer as a manager?

76

{Ed002's Note - In what respect?}

1.) 03 Oct 2015 00:50:21
A step in the wrong direction in my opinion

2.) 03 Oct 2015 07:31:02
If De Boer was the only option, then yes i would take him in a heartbeat over clueless Brendan. If Klopp and Ancelotti are also interested in the LFC job, then De Boer should be out of the picture completely. My preferences are in order are:
Ancelotti
Klopp
De Boer
Brendan

3.) 03 Oct 2015 08:01:58
Why is it a step in the wrong direction?

4.) 03 Oct 2015 12:24:25
He has no proven ability to adapt a team to different circumstances unlike for example ancellotti klopp etc. managers who have managed in top leagues and won trophies against really tough opposition, I'm not discrediting the Dutch leagues but it's a different Universe compared to the premier league as Ajax don't have much competition in the league in a similar way Celtic are in Scotland and previously Rangers as well, he is very young a good manager from what I have seen but like I said very unproven in tough competitions unlike the ones I mentioned above which is what we need to finally sort out the mess we have at the moment. we don't need more rebuilding we have a strong squad. we need a leader who knows how to get results with a proven track record.
