Who decides the 'match ups' at set pieces. Doak was absolutely bullied for Preston's goal and I've seen the same thing happen to Elliott. Strikers and central defenders usually have heading in their DNA and it doesn't make sense to mark them with our smallest players when we have plenty of height in the team. This needs to be sorted before the season properly starts.

I thought the same. It happened several times last season too where one of our smallest players ended up man marking somebody twice their size. Hopefully it is something that will be addressed.

Also the Carabao Cup. Dan Burn scoring with a header, I think it was McAllister marking him. Total mismatch.

Agreed, it's the downfall at times with zonal marking and a team taking advantage of the weaknesses.
I preferred to have a mix of zonal and man to man marking of the main threats when managing. Was just preference.

Could see that goal coming before it happend. you could see Cody telling doak to mark him. while he had his own man. no comparison.

Funny enuff, I've seen other teams do this so this may be even more wide spread than I thought.
