Ed's cord is finishing in top 4 or not likely impact our chances of signing Bellingham or Fernandez?

{Ed002's Note - Obviously it makes the club less attractive.}

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all signed excellent players when they were not in the Champions League. If a player doesn’t want to come because the club isn’t in the Champions League for one season then they probably aren’t the sort of player you want anyway.

Personally I don’t think we’d be able to sign either of them under our current owners, Champions League or not. It will however be a convenient excuse when the time comes as we look a long way off being able to qualify, and if we miss out on champions league I can’t see us getting back in for a very long time as we can’t financially compete with City, United, Newcastle, Chelsea or even Arsenal.

Who are the excellent players the clubs have signed? Certainly no one close to Bellingham’s level. I think you have to be in the top 4 to sign the very top players.

Well I hope to god we are able to sign at least one of them VVVV after all they are our main targets and very much needed in our midfield. Although having said that I see we are down to just 2 out and out forward players again in Nunez and Salah with the likes of Elliot, Carvalho or Ox shoe horned into a fur ware roll. We might be better investing in a forward player?

Hopefully we have new owners and can get a couple of midfielders and a forward in the summer. A full sale of the club does seem likely.

I don’t believe these owners will spend that sort of money there’s only one thing on their mind currently and that’s basketball.

How sure are we that new owners would be willing to spend that kind of money on players? For all we know, they could be more or less the same, or they could even be worse.

Well Dare, you’d better start praying. Because there’s no way that either of them will be lining up for us next season and if Devine intervention is all we got, then we’re done for.

You say that Mark, but FSG have been apparently preferring to seek a “strategic partner” to selling, using the sale proceeds from the minority share sale to fund their vegas NBA project and asking the “strategic partner” to fund the transfers. Personally I can’t see any logical reason why anyone would purchase a minority share for stupid money and fund transfers whilst the majority owners spend the square root of nothing. FSG better start a go fund me page or JWH can twerking for dollars on onlyfans.

The other thing to remember TBird, is that none of those sides work on a hand to mouth basis. If we want to spend the way Arsenal, Chelsea or United did under our current model then we’d be selling someone major to buy. So that would mean selling some or all of TAA, Konate, Alisson, Fabinho, VVD, Nunez, Diaz, Salah to fund it. And you can be sure the players coming in won’t be of equivalent quality if we’re outside the champions league.

You then have to ask how long will our best players hang around if we don’t have champions league football as it will be hard to break back in to that top four.

One final point, if FSG aren’t going to spend when we’re at the top and in the champions league, then they sure aren’t going to do it when we’re outside of that. They were banking on the super league and failed.

Kante signed for Chelsea when they weren’t in the Champions League, United signed Pogba for a world record fee, Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Arsenal Odegaard, Saliba and Jesus.

It might just be a case we have peaked as a team with klopp. Will have ten + seasons near mid table to sixth.
Then a new saviour will come and we will have a few good seasons then repeat.

Again TBird, we didn’t spend like that when we were in the champions league. We’re not going to do it outside the champions league. Without the revenue from champions league, it means player sales not just to buy new players, but to balance the books because of our debt levels.

Why do you support the club? You seem to hate everything about it from top to bottom.

Hi Ed. liverpool are currently being linked with Eljaf Elmas of Napoli. Maybe you have a view on this player Ed? Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Eljif Elmas (AM/CM) The versatile North Macedonian opted to join Napoli over Manchester City in 2019 has continued to find admirers having impressed scouts from Brighton, Southampton and Liverpool.}

It’s so difficult to reply to VVVV’s posts because I disagree with every point he makes.
Honestly mate get a grip. We’ve been one of the best teams on the planet for 5 years and we have a bad first 3rd of a season and that means we won’t get in the champions league for years?!
We’ll finish top 4 this season and if we don’t we’ll win the league next season with no CL to concentrate on.
Even the great Liverpool teams of the 70s and 80s went through bad spells just stick with the team and we’ll come good we are too good not to.
