Ed002 do we have any interest in Caicedo or is it just loads of click bait because if it is just click bait am sure in the press conference coming up somebody will ask Klopp about him and he will say he is a great player turning the clickers mental.

{Ed002's Note - I am sure there is interest but Liverpool have not been pin contact with Brighton about him, hence the Brighton Chairman taking the piss out of the club.}

It all stems from media talk anyway.

There’s interest confirmed by numerous journalists but those same journalists are saying that Liverpool are unlikely to pay the significant fee attached to Caicedo (£50-60mil) . It seems unlikely to be honest which is a shame as he’s excellent.

That being said there could be movement soon as Caicedo is supposedly solving his ‘Agent issue’ this week and so maybe Liverpool or Chelsea will finally make a move? What was the issue with his agent/ s Ed002?

Grino mate think we had discussion with he's agent and were shocked with the economics involved hence Brighton briefing their local media they've no problem negotiating and even lowering their asking price hence their chairman coming out publicly.

I think the club is more likely to bring in someone like Kone, Merrino, Amrabat, Elmas bracket this window.
Then in the summer it will be one of Bellingham, Fernandez, Barella. With likely Caicedo or maybe McAllister as a second. Really hope we bring in both Skriniar and Rabiot on frees in the summer also.

For me ideally from the categories above I would prefer.

Merrino, Bellingham, Caicedo, and frees of Skriniar and Rabiot

We lose Chamberlain, Keita, Milner and could sell Matip if Skriniar is brought in.

50m isn’t a ‘significant’ fee in 2023 it’s about what you’d pay for a good midfielder Caicedo won’t be available for that amount.

After the match on Saturday maybe it’ll get traction, Caicedo as pointed out above, agent issue resolved this week, we play Saturday it’s like the star’s aligning.

Just my hunch, think it’ll get done soon after Saturday, I have no basis, but something in my waters tell me.

Every deal has lots more than just the transfer fee. Caicedo would be a 70m transfer fee at least. He’d still be cheaper than your Jude Enzo and Tchouamenis. I don’t think we’re willing to go huge in the midfield though like we’d need i reckon we try for Jude then a cheaper Amrabat or Nunes. Need something this window though.

How many £50m transfers have been made in this window Onekiss? There is a very, very small number of clubs who can make more than 1 £50m signing in a season, let alone multiple signings and the ones that can afford it have to because transfer prices are jacked up when they come calling. Perhaps City, United, Chelsea and us in the PL and, no doubt Newcastle in the near future, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich and, imho, City and Chelsea suffer more than most in being ripped off, although United and perhaps us, deserve honourable mentions too. Trouble is when you get to the amounts of money that City, PSG and RealmMadrid seem to be able to throw about a £ 50m failure ( or £ 100m in the case of City ) doesn’t matter apparently.

As an aside having shelled out a significant amount ( Atleti we’re surely having a laugh ) it’s ironic to see the new loan signing at Chelsea rule himself out of the next couple of matches or so.
