It’s a strong NO from me. Get Lavia and go and get another midfielder, whether that’s Caicedo, Manu Kone, Florentino Luís or whoever. But certainly not Kalvin Phillips who turns 28 in a few months and is reportedly a poor trainer.

Not a chance, all of the names bar Lavia are bound to be smokescreens. Would Lavia join if he knew we were buying someone else to compete with him?
For me he is good enough and will rapidly improve with coaching, and whilst there may be the odd mistake during his evolution, he looks to have all of the necessary ingredients to be a top player.

We can only hope it's not true that Calvin Phillips is the replacement. I know Ed02 you rightly scold fans for slating players that haven't even arrived yet and I usually don't. Mostly because I like the players we are linked with but Calvin Phillips is a bridge too far for me. Would be a massive mistake. Hope we do not turn to him.
