Hi Ed002, Klopp has said that he won't dip into the market for just any midfielder. Completely agree with this strategy. I'm probably reading too much into it but from latest interviews it seems they are still trying but struggling to get the players they want for that position

Let's put the unreasonable targets like Bellingham aside. He s not happening this month. Dortmund are not going to deal him now.

Is there any deal that could be possible if (big if) Liverpool push. Guess I'm looking for players where there is interest and a deal could be struck.

Sangare and laimer are two from a recent list you provided that spring to mind. Would it be possible to do a deal for them at this late stage? Any other player for the midfield that Liverpool have shown decent amount of interest and deal with club could be done be close of window?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Sangare has signed a new contract. Laimer will almost certainly not move until next summer. Marcelo Brozovic might be a possibility.}

1.) 15 Aug 2022 15:22:29
Can’t ever see Bellingham ever happening plus we will need 3/ 4 mids next season.

2.) 15 Aug 2022 16:08:39
We should have a look at Nunes at Sporting, he looks a decent player. Gets about the park, tackles and presses for fun, decent technique.

3.) 15 Aug 2022 16:13:43
Thanks a mill Ed002.

4.) 15 Aug 2022 16:26:48
Has anyone watched this guy and know what his strengths and weaknesses are?

5.) 15 Aug 2022 16:30:30
I agree on Nunes 6 times but lots of trusted sources like Paul Joyce and Ed002 before him have said interest from Liverpool is minimal. Anything can change of course but it seems unlikely.

Brozovic is an excellent player too. Slightly older than I'd prefer but an excellent player.

6.) 15 Aug 2022 16:52:06
Btw guys for the last 10 or so seasons there has been a Croatian in every Champions League winning team. Extra incentive to go for Brozovic haha.

7.) 15 Aug 2022 16:52:56
If this midfield stays as it is we are gambling with our top 4 position never mind trying to win things. Our strongest midfield last season couldn't beat Madrid or any of the top 4 teams home or away . Yes we finished a point behind city last season but are unwillingness to improve has let other teams get stronger. All we have done is replace mane an neco Williams but not the real weakness.

8.) 15 Aug 2022 16:53:56
I like Brozovic but isn't he currently out injured with a calf muscle injury which has been recurring for about 4 or 5 years?

9.) 15 Aug 2022 16:58:32
Brozovic would be some signing.

10.) 15 Aug 2022 17:07:12
Wouldn’t that make him a perfect fit for our midfield then MK? Haha.

11.) 15 Aug 2022 23:42:04
Pretty sure Brozovic signed a new contract in the summer and at 29 turning 30 this year, he’s not worth it as we’ve enough players at that end of the age range. Plus he’s injured at the moment and we’ve enough injured players to cope with.

12.) 16 Aug 2022 00:14:41
Brozovic isn’t the legs we need unfortunately.

13.) 16 Aug 2022 05:49:29
Ed have we in any way enquired about Brozovics availability?

{Ed002's Note - options.
Marcelo Brozovic (DM/CM) was to become a Free Agent this summer but signed a new four year contract, but it is still possible that he could be sold if a very good offer were made. As a Free Agent he was attractive to Newcastle, PSG and Spurs. Considered as a potential Matic replacement by Manchester United. Would provide good cover for Liverpool who have been approached by a third party. I expect him to stay where he is.}

14 Jul 2022 13:33:59
Hi Ed002, Is there Liverpool interest in Carney Chukwuemeka (Aston Villa) do you know?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Carney Chukwuemeka (CM/AM) only a youngster but another making an early breakthrough like Jude Bellingham did at Birmingham. Aston Villa will do all they can to keep him but know that he has been watched since he first played in the Under 18 games by scouts representing many Premier League teams and clubs from Germany and Spain. Borussia Dortmund will take note of the contract difficulties and declare a formal interest before long. Newcastle will offer a very good package and guarantees. Barcelona are very keen but he would be a long way from being in the first team.}

1.) 15 Jul 2022 12:15:06
ed002 the other year when we played Villa in the Fa youth cup they looked like they had a lot of good young players not sure if it was him that stood out the most but it might have been.
I think he should stay where he is only 18 but all ready getting minutes in Villas first team seems very strange that a player of his age would want to leave now do you think he might be getting some bad advice for his agent to try and line his pocket.

{Ed002's Note - I agree he should stay where he is but he is refusing to sign a contract so AV will sell this summer.}

17 Jun 2022 07:24:56
Hi Ed002,
You mentioned to remind you on Friday about a recap on interest in Liverpool players this transfer window?

This is a very friendly reminder?.

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Players who might leave or interest has been shown in:
Loris Karius (G) Out of contract.
Adrián (G) Out of contract in the summer - perhaps a new one year deal.
Neco Williams (RB) Interest has been shown by Fulham and it is clear that he has not clear future path at Liverpool and wants to move on. As long as the price asked is reasonable then perhaps the summer will see him move on. Southampton opted for another and whist Burnley has shown interest the player will be looking out for better options. Nottingham Forest offer a wildcard option. Price again will be everything and if not over-priced he should get a move.
Joe Gomez (CB) Newcastle and Aston Villa are both interested in Gomez.
Nathaniel Phillips (CB) Bournemouth would like a deal, but at the right price. West Ham and Newcastle have previously been interested but he would not be a first choice for either.
Thiago Alcantara (CM) At 31, he could be sacrificed in the summer to make space for additions.
Naby Keita (CM) I am told he is looking to stay but Liverpool might want to see what options they can find for him. The whole affair has not gone terribly well. Is limited in the countries he can move to.
James Milner (M) Out of contract but a one year extension has been agreed.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (CM/RW) AOC is uncomfortable with his lack of game time and options are being sought by his agent. May look to run his contract down which will open up options. WHU and Aston Villa may provide options. Newcastle may provide another as they struggle to attract players.
Taki Minamino (RW/AM) Leeds remain concerned about when they lose Raphinha, and have asked about the about the availability of Minamino and Liverpool will perhaps be open to a summer sale. I am not aware of any approach from Monaco but I am aware that they fear Aleksandr Golovin could be tempted away - he will provide an option following up on previous interest. Fulham have declared an interest and that might tempt Lioverpool who need the funds.
Mo Salah (RW) I suspect the contract situation is made complicated because of his prior expectation to be the post-Ronaldo poster boy at Real Madrid - and he might of been if the financial expectations were more reasonable. Approaching 30 he might now be thinking that opportunity has gone for good and his "agent" might will be pressing for a huge deal in terms of money and length of contract that would not suit Liverpool - hence there being no agreement so far. I would not discount Barcelona as an option if he were to move this summer, but it may require at least one player in exchange - more likely Salah will run down his contract and join them as a Free Agent next year. That is the proposal from his agent and that will be attractive to Barcelona. He knows that Real Madrid had a much preferred target in Mbappe, but they could return to him in the future, they could listen to his agent and perhaps make an offer. Juventus seem possible with his contract running down and they have beneficial tax advantages in their favour. But they have other plans. PSG have other targets in mind to replace Mbappe if he plays up next summer, but Salah's agent is knocking on their door again. Inter need to replace Sanchez and Perisic and are better placed than most in respect of wages - but I doubt the player would be interested. No clubs will want to spend too much on a transfer fee and my feeling is that he look to run his contract down and join Barcelona as a Free Agent next summer}
Sadio Mane (LW/F) Has very high financial expectations in respect of a new contract but Liverpool will look to extending his contract. Bayern Munich see him as a preferred replacement for a likely departure, but after two failed bids are talking to two other clubs about options, but a take-t or leave-it offer will be made. Barcelona may see what they can do but have preferred options.
Ben Woodburn (S) Out of contract.
Divock Origi (S) Out of contract in the summer and wants regular game time. The interest of West Ham, Wolves, Fenerbahce, Lazio, Mainz and Cercle Brugge has gone. were interested and could provide an option still. A third party has been offering him around Italy with Milan showing an interest - and that seems to be his destination.
Robert Firmino (F) Could make way.

1.) 17 Jun 2022 09:59:03
Thanks ED002 - really interesting insight.

When you say "I would not discount Barcelona as an option if he were to move this summer, but it may require at least one player in exchange" - is the player Ousmane Dembele, or somebody else in the Barcelona squad?

Regards, KR65.

{Ed002's Note - Obviously not Dembele.}

2.) 17 Jun 2022 10:29:04
AH - of course, Dembele is a free agent this summer. So that would be pointless. My bad.

3.) 17 Jun 2022 10:38:04
Any ideas who could be offered for salah Ed002, thanks for the update on the outgoings.

{Ed002's Note - They have a lengthy list of players available - but the expectation is that they will wait and take him as a Free Agent next year.}

4.) 17 Jun 2022 11:41:58
Okay thanks for the reply.

5.) 17 Jun 2022 13:15:08
Thanks a million Ed!

6.) 17 Jun 2022 13:15:08
Thanks a million Ed!

7.) 17 Jun 2022 14:13:21
Moving Thiago on was not a scenario I had considered.

8.) 17 Jun 2022 16:33:33
Darwin seems to like playing on the shoulder of the defenders and running the channels, it probably means death of false 9 unless we rotate and Bobby plays, it makes sense our midfield and formation might have to change to accommodate that,

I've said it before and I will say it again, Klopp would like a ball carrier/ dribbler in that midfield, it's why he brought Ox, Keita and Shaquiri.

9.) 17 Jun 2022 16:36:38
You said that firmino could make way Ed. May i ask is there any team interested in him?

10.) 17 Jun 2022 16:36:38
You said that firmino could make way Ed. May i ask is there any team interested in him?

{Ed002's Note - No but he will not get much game time.}

15 Jun 2022 20:27:17
Hi Ed002,

Any chance of a recap on Liverpool's possible sales and where there's interest in our players?

Thanks a mill as always,

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Please remind me on Friday Dave and I will do it.}

1.) 16 Jun 2022 08:19:28
I’d say most likely are.

L. Karius. Free.
D. Origi. Free - Milan.
S. Mane. - Bayern.

B. Davies - available for transfer.
A. O Chamberlain- available for transfer.
N. Williams - available for transfer.
N. Phillips - available for transfer.
T. Minimino - available for transfer.

Possible sales.
R. Firmino.
N. Keita.
J. Matip.

I’d say last three would depend on arrivals and only an outside chance of leaving.

2.) 16 Jun 2022 08:27:28
There is absolutely zero chance we are going to sell Bobby or Matip this summer.
Keita would only happen if we were to get someone like Bellingham.
Obviously just my opinion.

3.) 16 Jun 2022 08:45:05
Read somewhere that we might keep Phillips for when Matip leaves in a year. Another loan this year.

4.) 16 Jun 2022 09:24:12
I don't understand why we'd sell Keita if we're apparently offering him a new contract, but I think everyone would prefer Bellingham to come in. Which seems a moot point.

Can't see Matip going anywhere, unless we bring in another or unless Gomez is going to be given another chance.

Be interesting to see if Mane goes now or next year. I guess pros either way, but will limit some of the youngsters coming through. I'd hate to see Elliot go the way of Ings.

I'd hope Bobby stays a while longer. He has been our super sub of late, and I can't think of anyone I'd rather have coming off the bench when we need something a bit special.

5.) 16 Jun 2022 09:47:07
IF and it is a big IF Liverpool are offering Naby a new contract it maybe to increase his market value. Not many clubs will look at Naby because of his stupid wages that he is on plus there are some countries that he can't play in. He's been a massive let down since he arrived and I for one can't wait to see the back of him.

6.) 16 Jun 2022 10:18:22
I personally cannot understand why we don't sell Phillips to Bournemouth for £15m.

Why after getting regular first team football would he want to come back to be 4th choice? which in reality means he may get the odd game in the league cup.

The only problem i see with Matip is the fact he is on high wages.

We need to start cutting loose players who have no future with us, all across the board.

We are stuck with Keita because of his personal problems and the simple fact nobody else wants him- he also is no doubt on high wages, the only way he leaves is when his contract officially expires and the club itself does not renew it.

7.) 16 Jun 2022 11:47:38
Naby will also struggle this year if his best friend Mane leaves.

8.) 16 Jun 2022 11:29:00
Kingkenny, I get your point, but we need to look at it from the club's PoV.

Matip is currently (based on the start of last season) a starter, but has gradually been phased out in favour of Konate.

Gomez is being groomed to be the other part of that partnership, over the next few years (as VVD gets older) .

When Matip leaves, we will need a 4th CB that we know and can rely on.

Phillips wages are not huge, and if he is happy with having only a guarantee of a handful of games, but the chance of a longer run at Liverpool (in the case of injuries) then he may choose to take that chance rather than playing more games at a lower level club.

Personally, I see replacing Matip with Phillips in a years time as a very sensible option for the club, and the player seems to be happy with it too.

If he wants to move in years to come, hopefully we have other emerging players like Koumetio and Van Den Berg coming through to fill that space and/ or push for the starting places.

9.) 16 Jun 2022 11:58:23
In fairness to keita he'd gone some way to being ahead of Hendo in the pecking order by the end of the season. If he stays fit expect to see even more of him next year, remember it doesn't matter what people on here's opinions are Klopp clearly rates him.

{Ed001's Note - are you for real? He was not ahead of Hendo at all, he only got game time because Jones and Elliott struggled to recover from injuries and Henderson has to be managed and Fabs picked up an injury. He is in no way first choice, nor will he be until he bucks his ideas up.}

10.) 16 Jun 2022 12:30:43
He was playing ahead of jones and elliott when both were back fit in the squad.43 appearances last year. get used to him lads.

{Ed001's Note - because they were not back to form, not because Klopp rates him above them. Pointless this argument, if you think he is rated higher than Elliott then you know f all and everyone is wasting their time reading your garbage.}

11.) 16 Jun 2022 12:41:48
Keita is sub par but due to the fans not wanting to admit it was a bad purchase (everyone makes them and our recent success rate is top draw) but he has been a flop and a half decent performance against a lower table team isn’t enough to suggest otherwise. He’s had time at the club and he just doesn’t seem to be kicking on. Don’t like bad mouthing the players, and wills till support every one of them, but he’s just not working out and should be moved on, it really is that simple.

12.) 16 Jun 2022 12:47:47
i like nathan phillips he didn't get much game but when he did play he was good.
Rhys williams is the one we should sell everytime he is a liability.

13.) 16 Jun 2022 12:48:54
Started 12 of 16 league games after AFCON. As i said, as the season went on his influence grew that undeniable in a team that was winning every week. when he's injured he gets stick, when he starts 75%of our league run in he still gets stick. Talk about already made up opinions.

14.) 16 Jun 2022 12:54:41
Don't understand the obsession to defend inconsistent flashy players who have 10 negatives for each positive.

15.) 16 Jun 2022 13:17:33
Ah look td, the the same could be said about the obsession to criticise a player who made 43 appearances for a team still going for a quadruple on the 22nd May.

16.) 16 Jun 2022 13:20:16
Why offer Naby a new contract i wonder. To keep him as a cheap squad option, if he accepts low wages is the only reason i could believe.

17.) 16 Jun 2022 13:28:27
I think people are way to harsh on Naby. I thought he had a decent season and definitely played his part. The price tag seems to cloud people’s judgement as they expected him to be Kante and De Bruyne rolled into one. He’s not that but he’s nowhere near as bad as half the people on here say he is.
Thiago was much worse in his first 18 months yet nobody slagged him off. I sometimes wonder what people’s agendas are.

18.) 16 Jun 2022 13:46:03
Keita had 3 appearances less than the previous two seasons COMBINED so hopefully that's the injury record improving. Performances improved aswell last season, not brilliant but certainly no worse than our other midfielders in a lot of games (although god forbid they be criticised) . Naby will be here next season so we should be hoping the improvement continues instead of hoping he fails.

19.) 16 Jun 2022 16:22:57
Naby is rubbish jadon and we all know it. As for the qoute that he got in ahead of hendo. haha think the Ed said it all. Another player well be letting go on a free when his contract ends. No-one in their right mind would buy him. Terrible player.

20.) 16 Jun 2022 17:43:36
I'd be willing to wager that Naby features in more league games than Hendo next year! whatever you think about Naby (im not tryin 2 make out he's the 2nd coming of Zidane) anyone who hasn't seen the decline in Hendo are blinded by how decent a guy he is. Keita, for all his faults actually outperformed him in many a game this year but sure most on here wouldn't admit that just outa pure stubborness.

21.) 16 Jun 2022 18:08:59
"Naby is rubbish and we all know it. "
Apart from Klopp that is. Klopp seems to know what he's doing, folks on much much less so.

22.) 16 Jun 2022 20:12:19
'Naby outperformed Hendo in many games last year'. That is utter rubbish JH. Sorry mate but I'm calling it.

Doesn't tackle, doesn't sprint, very average shooting (we can all score a worldie with enough chances), can't head the ball, rarely tracks back. I'd wager his kit doesn't need washing after each game.

23.) 16 Jun 2022 20:32:01
Its not Red, watch the games! Hendo (as well as Naby admittedly) had some very poor performances last season. Just like Firmino had last few seasons (but wait, Salah and Mane can't score without him) without getting half the stick others get because he's well liked.

24.) 16 Jun 2022 20:56:14
Naby has all the tools to be a top quality player but he lacks consistency, not just from game to game but during games. He also lacks the defensive attitude to spot danger before it happens (or just lazy in that aspect of his game) and his injury record has been awful at the club. If he was 21 coming off the back of his first season at the club I would be confident he could improve and fulfil his potential but he’s 27 and has played under Klopp for 4 years so I don’t hold out much hope unfortunately.

25.) 16 Jun 2022 23:28:08
Hendo played more minutes than any other midfielder we have this season. Just a reminder, since some seem to be pigeon holing him as needing constant rotation and subbing or his legs will fall off.

And for those constantly on about how Klopp is picking Keita therefore he must be good (I'll leave aside that this logic applied universally means there's no point in us discussing anything on here. Since we're all amateurs with no right to judge Klopp and must assume him to be infallible at all times, what's there to talk about? ), the same Klopp was saying we haven't seen the "real" Naby Keita yet as recently as the last couple of months of the season. So he clearly thinks Naby still has work to do.

Wonder how long it'll be until we do see this real Naby Keita? Another 4 years maybe?

Or maybe the real Naby Keita has been here all the time. Maybe it's the bloke who thinks he can spend most of a match strolling around the place (don't tell me to "watch the games" please. I only missed about 3 last season and I know what I saw) just because he got his big move to Liverpool? The guy's clearly quite talented, but anyone who thinks he's using even a tenth of it on a regular basis should consider consulting their optician.

And for all the rumours of a new deal, he hasn't actually got one yet has he? Van Dijk got one. Hendo got one. Alexander-Arnold got one. The club discussed one with Salah's reps, seemingly at length, although he hasn't accepted it. But Keita's just been left hanging so far. Strange if he's apparently so good and Klopp loves him.

26.) 17 Jun 2022 01:51:09
Keita is garbage, always has been since the day he arrived.
We need a midfielder who is prepared to tackle with tenacity, spot a pass, control the centre of the pitch and Keita does none of that.
Personally from the list Ed002 published, I only think Sangare or Merino are possible.
I would personally go for Neuhaus.

12 Jun 2022 06:53:22
Hi Ed002, can I bother you for a little recap of Liverpool's latest interest in cms?

Also is there one or two options that you know of interest on the cheaper scale financially as I suspect this may be the way we go after Nunez purchase?

Davey Sulls

{Ed002's Note - Andre Trindade (DM/CM) Recommended to Liverpool as Fabinho cover, but concerns that he may not yet be able to obtain a Work Permit. Barcelona would like to take him but will not have space in the squad for another non EU player. Braga may offer an option.
Yves Bissouma (CM/DM)
Ibrahim Sangare (DM/CM) Newcastle are keen on the player and the interest of both Leicester and Southampton remains. The player has said that he does not wish to return to France and wants a move to England. Has been watched by a number of other PL sides including Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea who sent an ex-player to take a look at him with two scouts. PSV have no intention of selling.
Kalvin Phillips (DM/CM) a financially more viable option to Declan Rice and Manchester United have enquired in the past and may maintain that interest when a new manager arrives in the summer. An ex-PL player acting as a scout for Real Madrid has watched the player on more than one occasion. Manchester City see as an option to replace Fernandinho. West Ham enquired and made a tentative offer to no avail in January - their interest would depend on the departure of Declan Rice. Aston Villa have enquired - it seems very unlikely. An enquiry from Newcastle may be followed up but I suspect the player would not be keen. He has the stupid haircut that Liverpool look for in recruits and Liverpool may see him as an option to Sangare or Bissouma. Arsenal interest has gone. Leeds will resist selling and look for a new contract. I expect a new contract will be agreed but he won't stay at Leeds forever.
Konrad Laimer (CM/DM) RBL are aware that there are clubs looking at Konrad Laimer for the summer and that the player has so far not extended his contract - so a sale is quite likely. Bayern Munich have considered Laimer, as have Borussia Dortmund (who need an Axel Wisel replacement). Liverpool, Spurs and Manchester United have sent scouts to watch him and may have spoken with his agent. The interesting option, and one which should not be discounted, is Chelsea as the were unable to sign Aurelien Tchouameni. Laimer will want to be a starter and that means Bayern would need to have Goretzka make way.
Ryan Gravenberch (CM/DM) No.
Renato Sanches (CM) No.
Mikel Merino (CM) Real Sociedad will not be looking to sell Merino but if an offer of more than €40M were to be made then they would I am sure consider it. Struggled a little in Germany and used as a DM at Newcastle. Real Sociedad say that Merino has been watched by Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Liverpool and again Newcastle this season. The player has made his desire to play for Real Madid clear.
Jude Bellingham (CM) No.
Youri Tielemans (CM) Seems unlikely.
Otavio (RM) Liverpool have sustained interest and something may be possible. Manchester United and Everton see him as a useful midfield addition, but cannot offer CL football.
Vitinha (CM/AM) Another JM special who had a successful loan at Wolves. Porto are not keen on selling nbut any side offering his €40M release clause in cash could put it in the hands of the player. Bayern Munich and Lazio have a declared interest. Scouts from many sides have been watching him, including Liverpool, Wolves, Real Madrid and Roma. Looks unlikely.
Florian Neuhaus (CM) Not for this summer.
Florian Wirtz (AM) Won't be joining Liverpool.
Fabio Carvalho (AM) done.
Aguibou Camara (AM) Although he has only just moved to Olympiakos, Lille have declared an interest in taking the player back and a number of PL sides have been sending scouts to watch him - including Liverpool and Leicester - but getting a Work Permit to play in England would be very difficult. Additionally, Villareal and Monaco have been watching. Seems very unlikely with FC signing.

1.) 12 Jun 2022 11:54:16
What a great reply Ed, surely that’ll help put pay to the same questions getting asked daily, and you can again say RTFP.

2.) 12 Jun 2022 11:58:44
Class response ed2.really hope we get midfielder in, difference in winning league and not I think. How r u keeping? U had rough couple of weeks a while back u where saying.

3.) 12 Jun 2022 12:10:48
Class Ed 2, let’s see who it is now if we’re definitely going to add a mf.

4.) 12 Jun 2022 12:25:11
No Soler on there Ed2.he is really good, and would offer us that added goal threat from MF.
Does anyone know if De Jong would suit LFC's playing style?

{Ed002's Note - Soler is not of interest to Liverpool and in the midst of negotiating a move elsewhere.}

5.) 12 Jun 2022 13:18:28
Ed do you think Trindade would be impossible? He looks like a brilliant mix of Fabinho and Thiago. Looks a real talent. Looks robust too.

I don’t think we’ve been linked (yet) but Manu Kone at M Gladbach looks really good too. Edgar Davids vibes.

{Ed002's Note - I think what I just wrote about Trindade. Liverpool have no interest in Kone.}

6.) 12 Jun 2022 13:26:50
I'd have gone for André but as you say Ed002 he'd have work permit issues attached. Can't really see any appropriate cover other than Sangare beyond André.

7.) 12 Jun 2022 13:53:34
Philips will never join Utd! He said he’d have to move his whole family out of Leeds.

8.) 12 Jun 2022 13:51:29
Ed02 - Legend

Personally I'd go for Bissouma and then next year Bellingham if possible.

9.) 12 Jun 2022 14:17:21
Fantastic summary! Thank you.

10.) 12 Jun 2022 14:32:30
From that list I would go for a more defensive midfielder, someone like Sangare or Laimer. Not overly convinced about Phillips.

Bellingham has proven for Dortmund that he excells in and around the box, although that's undermining his defensive output which is also pretty good.

This summer for me a versatile mid like Sangare who can cover for the defence and next summer Bellingham. Then we could look to maybe someone like Vitinha, a player who looks v similar to someone like Thiago.

Belated as I was travelling. Thanks a million Ed002. Really enjoyed reading that.

12.) 12 Jun 2022 17:22:05
Great info Ed - thank you.

Shame Jacob Ramsey isn’t on the list. But I hope for Bellingham next year.

13.) 12 Jun 2022 20:06:39
With Nunez arriving, there won't be too many minutes at center forward, I have a feeling Firmino might get moved back to midfield, whether it's playing as a 10 with formation change, or being box to box 6/ 8, he tracks back, has positional awareness, good in tight spaces with the ball, he just needs to stay healthy, he might need a "Matip" treatment where he plays once a week in a competition, or maybe splits time with Harvey Elliott at right midfield.

14.) 12 Jun 2022 21:33:07
I’d be very surprised to see firmino played in the midfield unless we have major injuries maybe as a 10 yes but never 6/ 8.

Ed001, I like you think and believe konate will be van dijks primary partner in defence.

What do you think of using Matip in midfield from time to time as a Fabinho backup. He s played midfield before and I would really like a look at him play there for us. I think he could do a good job there and get more minutes covering cb and dm. Any thoughts?

Davey Sulls

{Ed001's Note - no thanks, he doesn't need more minutes.}

1.) 04 Jul 2022 00:57:56
Ouch. Poor Matip ?

I think he s a decent squad player myself but you got a great record with player judgement. He s not in my first 11 but I like him overall.

Cheers for getting back to me on it.

{Ed001's Note - he is decent cover but he has experience so he doesn't need minutes. It is youngsters that need minutes. I didn't mean it the way it probably seemed. He should be a useful rotation option and cover at the back, but Matip certainly shouldn't need minutes.}

2.) 04 Jul 2022 09:03:00
Matip has not played DM in near a decade if I remember correctly so not sure if he could still do a job there. As for Konate, I think he has usurped Matip as first choice next to VVD and since he is going to be here a lot longer than both Matip and VVD then like Ed01 said, he needs the minutes.

3.) 04 Jul 2022 10:53:58
Hopefully Gomez has a good pre season as well because a lot of his minutes last season came at RB. With Ramsey now in the door those minutes could possibly go to him so Joe will be eager to get plenty more minutes at Centre half as well.

4.) 04 Jul 2022 11:32:13
VVD is a left CB, Joe is a right, are the other two both right sided or put there to accommodate VVD? I know it's not a huge deal just curious.

{Ed001's Note - Matip mainly played DM when he signed for us but he has never looked comfortable when asked to play on the left and usually Gomez switches over when the two play as a pair. Konate can play across the back on either side or any of the back 3 positions in a 3.}

I'm a bit late with my transfer round up this window. I usually like to give Ed002 a break by providing the latest round up. Wardy moves fast people. Sometimes too fast. But he is super eager to assist his idol Jurgen Klopp.

Fabio Carvalho (AM/ LW/ can he play the number 8? with it. I'm adding number 8) - Feb 1st klopp and ward returning home from London - klopp"I feel like we forgot something" Ward - "FABIO! ". Expect a bid.

Calvin Ramsey (RB / RWB (a fancier way of saying RB) ) - perfect parenthesis. Klopp mentioned to Wardy he was feeling peckish and would love Gordon Ramsey right now. 4 million plus add ons later. Who's this guy?

Darwin Nunez (F) - klopp feels hurt by analysts calling City a sexier team to watch. "If they want sexy, I'll show them sexy! "

Jude Bellingham - (CM/ W) - Ward "I'm working hard on Jobe Bellingham for you Klopp" Klopp "say that first name again? "

Nkunku (F/ W) - Klopp has Salah chasing him because he is very fast.

Raphina (W) - klopp is interested. Barcelona have no money. Liverpool have no money left. It's not the bidding war Leeds expected. The bids have been going up in increments of pounds. Latest bid is Liverpool's of 270 pounds plus 59 million in add ons. Barcelona struggling to match Liverpool's up front payment.

Mbappe (s/ w) - still interested post contract signing. Trying to persuade him to take a pay cut.

The entire Porto team - klopp is very interested in signing every last one of them.

Love it, haha.
That’s cheered me right up, away we go for another day.
Nice one.

It would be a massive injustice if Minamino does not have a league cup and FA cup medal. He was a massive part of the journey. I hope the club or someone confirms soon he has both medals.

He can 100% call himself an FA cup and league cup winner and he deserves the medals to prove it.

Davey Sulls

1.) 16 May 2022 17:54:01
Call me old fashioned but for me the medals should be for who plays in the finals only.

2.) 16 May 2022 17:55:07
Wasn't he the top scorer in both competitions this year.

3.) 16 May 2022 18:04:02
Clearly seen him celebrating the league Cup win with a medal around his neck. Some1 else give him theirs?

4.) 16 May 2022 18:20:33
Omg this is terrible. He played a huge part in getting us to the final in both the cups. I cannot believe this.

5.) 16 May 2022 21:39:02
I thought the squad get a certain amount to dish out these days?

6.) 16 May 2022 21:44:54
Why am I not surprised that unapologetically negative has no concept of team and why Taki deserves a medal

This is stupid, but nothing really surprises me with those who run the game.

7.) 16 May 2022 22:25:23
The club gets 40 medals to distribute as it pleases. Taki was wearing one on the night.

8.) 16 May 2022 23:08:18
Walter is on the wind up again I see 🤦🏼‍♂️.

9.) 17 May 2022 06:42:56
None of our players would have a medal if it wasnt for Taki’s goals.

10.) 17 May 2022 08:47:43
I genuinely don't see the problem with only those who played getting medals.
I can remember Souness saying once when we won the league the medals were put in a box and was told by the gaffer if you feel like you deserve one take one. How times have changed.
I remember I came fourth in a school cross country run around 500 kids the top 10 got a plastic medal I felt I didn't deserve one coming fourth so declined. I don't see what all the fuss is about personally.

11.) 17 May 2022 10:55:35
you win and lose as a team. no idea how this compares to an individual event where you finished 4th.

My goodness. Surprised Burnley sacked Dyche. I did not enjoy watching them but what choice did they have with the budget mismatch.

Obviously I have no clue what goes on behind the scenes but imagine he won't be out of work for long.

Davey Sulls

{Ed0666's Note - Everton?

1.) 15 Apr 2022 16:35:33
I'd do it. Everton need to stabilize for a few years and I could see Dyche being the man to do it. Fancy him more than lampard.

2.) 15 Apr 2022 17:16:33
Everton good call Ed0999.

3.) 15 Apr 2022 17:48:05
Dyche would get more job satisfaction being on the dole than going to Everton.

Amazingly this sacking now makes Klopp the longest reigning premier league manager.

4.) 15 Apr 2022 17:54:17
Can Everton afford to sack Lampard?

5.) 15 Apr 2022 20:10:29
What is the difference between Dyche and Big Sam who did a better job than all the Everton managers after him without the money to spend.
I am sure if they had stayed with big Sam and given him the money they had wasted they would be fighting for too 4 now rather than bottom 4.

{Ed002's Note - Sam is much taller.}

6.) 15 Apr 2022 22:54:23
002 😂.

7.) 15 Apr 2022 23:06:47
Local chippy owners love Allardyce.

8.) 16 Apr 2022 01:16:40
Fat Sam drinks his wine out of a pint glass, Dyche drinks it out of a bucket. That’s how you can tell them apart.

9.) 16 Apr 2022 09:26:38
They love Dyche in Burnley. And rightly so he’s done incredible.
I remember an away day there and even the pub next to the stadium is called something like the royal lord dyche 😂.

I'd be very uncomfortable leaving bobby go. He would have to be replaced. Bobby knows the club and players/ coach know him. To bring another replacement in now is too much upheavel in the forward positions. We have already sold 3. 4 is too much.

I know a new player would be exciting but the reality is we'll likely be far better with bobby than without. New player would take time. And I've said this before, for a new forward joining Liverpool would be a risk. How much game time will he get. This would hamper the quality we can bring in.

But I trust Klopp and team fully. This is just my thought but if they decide to sell, fine by me. Would be hoping for gapko if sold but I don't see him taking that risk.

He is here for next year. Just have to hope he can get and stay fit so he can help. It's a sickner how injury prone he is. We must leave him go next season. Would wish him nothing but luck in the rest of his career.

Otavio is in Nandos because he loves Piri Piri chicken regardless of South African ownership.

Sangare is working hard in preseason. Don't ask me why the others aren't.

Pretty confident last time Nunez will do that. Anderson was a pest all game grabbing and bumping but that's par for the course with some of the premier leagues cbs. Wish Mane was here to teach him the dark arts of dealing with those type of players.

I prefer a mix. Corners mostly need to be unpredictable to the defending team while attacking team know exactly what's going to happen. Preference is in swingers but there should always be a healthy mix of outswingers, near post, far post, centre goals etc. And the odd creative one. Very odd. I do hate when the defence comes up and they don't get it in there but they absolutely should try something a little different every once and a while.

It was a rough watch. Players looked like they had weights on the legs. Klopp should have kept them fresh for the game. Only joking of course. Tough watch though.

Also these players only starting preseason. united started earlier. We knew this was coming.
