I think the fact that Boehly got personally involved in the dealings is prescient.
Chelsea's transfer approach somewhat mirrors Boehly's US sports strategy, basically blow the opposition financially out of the water.
If there's any lesson that Liverpool can learn now, it's surely to do your own transfer business very decisively and swiftly.
The market is extremely swift moving and value is not easy to find, so don't haggle over £5 million here or there because the consequences can be much more costly.
I do feel that there's a bit of leftovers from the two owners' US rivalry playing out here too.

Well as disappointed as i am with how the last few days have been played out in such a public forum, I retain hope. They are not the only two DMs in the universe.

We signed Fabinho out of the blue. We did the same with Dominic Slobazai (sp) . I'd never heard of the kid quite honestly and I'll be many on here were the same. Not losing hope or trust at this point. Deflated yes massively. I just hope whoever comes in doesn't feel like sloppy thirds or fourths after the public mess the club have just put itself through.

Other clubs know we have money now and the clock is ticking. Won't be easy but not panicking just yet. I honestly wouldn't mind a punt on Kyle Walker Peters at RB and push Trent up the pitch.

Bit of an echo chamber going on here, we are not embarrassing, we aren’t a shambles, two targets picked another top flight club, one is a childhood fan, the other probably didn’t want to relocate up north. Who really cares, they are not coming, let’s go again. I doubt a single one of you was demanding we sign Lavia 12 months ago. All this talk of just pay the extra 5 million, don’t be crazy, in what world is just throwing around 5 million ok, it’s still 5 million pounds or another way to think about it is more money than you’ll earn in your life.
I want players who want to play for the club and I want the club to behave responsibly with its funds, so that we can keep signing players season after season. Chin up folks, all will be fine, good draw away at Chelsea, Bournemouth at the weekend, and who knows which awesome players will turn up before the end of the window, let’s be optimistic for a change.

Kit you also need to factor in agent fees and other costs, please wages saved is not incoming money, and will be replaced by any wages on new players or increases in other contract renewals.

In short, the numbers don’t stack up that way, it’s a lot more complicated, hence why best to stay away from the finances.
