Ed001 what do you know about Konrad Latimer? Apparently Mlopp sees him as a potential Henderson replacement, could he be possible before the TD?

{Ed001's Note - I know he is an excellent player but I very much doubt he would be available this summer.}

Edd001 what do you make of gerrards situation at villa. Looks like he's getting sacked soon. Too out of his depth, loss of a quality coach or bad luck?

{Ed001's Note - I just don't think he is that good tactically.}

Ed do you think it's something he'll improve in the future or do you think he'll go back to punditry?

{Ed001's Note - I think, if he can check his ego, he has a good future in coaching, just not as a head coach.}

Any thoughts of him ever becoming liverpool manager ends now.

Hey Ed001, on your first comment, I thought Latimer might be available as he’s refusing to sign a new contract so he’s moving into his final year? I mentioned a few days back (in jest, I might add as it would be too perfect! ) if a Laimer/ Keita swap deal might be doable, wonder if it is now!

{Ed001's Note - I hope you are right, but last I heard they were refusing all offers.}

Going to be an interesting few days!

Given Laimer doesn’t have Prem experience, and ignoring money for a minute, would you prefer Laimer or Neves in our midfield? The more I see of Neves, the more I see Alonso-potential!

{Ed001's Note - Neves is finally stepping up and looking like the player he was thought to be, but Laimer would be better suited to playing the deeper lying role as rotation for Fabinho. Neves is more of a Thiago type.}

We need them both.

Thanks for that Ed001, sounds like we should buy both, add Bellingham next year and then, with Elliot, we have the making of a great midfield for a few years to come! I’m going to see if Santa can deliver early this year ?.

Ed, I agree with you about Gerrard. I think he made a massive mistake leaving Rangers. There, he could have continued to learn and grow as a manager. He was probably 3-5 years away from a Premier League management job in my opinion. If he had been patient and had some self awareness, maybe he would have been a really good manager. I guess he still could, but like you, I'm not sure his ego will allow patience. Sad, it would have been tremendous to see him come home and manage Liverpool. I guess it could still happen, but there will probably be much better options when Klopp decides to step down.

Personally never want to see Gerard manage Liverpool.
Great player but could ruin his legacy if it goes tits up.
Ala Souness. Obviously could also enhance his legacy if he gets it right but too big a risk for me and just don’t see it working.

We currently have a world class manager. When the sad day comes where Klopp steps down the only person he can be replaced with would be a current world class manager at that time.

Anything less and we’ll see everything Klopp has built go backwards.

Is walking the plank too I think.

Edd001 neves I think would become an idol at Anfield. Has all the qualities now to be special for us. Don't think there's any chance atm though b.

Setting aside his legendary status as a player for us, Stevie G is just another Brendan Rodgers when it comes to management. His ego completely outweighs any tactical nous. Hopefully failure at Villa will kill any potential disaster of him ever managing us. It really is a disaster waiting to happen.

I know I’ve been banging this drum and I’m sounding like a broken record, but to see a coach who’s tactical ability absolutely outweighs his own ego and would absolutely be my pick down the line, go and watch Potter at Brighton. His constant systematic tweaks to nullify the opposition are brilliant, whilst employing a style of play that is the complete opposite to what their previous manager Hughton had the team playing, whilst still playing a number of the same players such as Dunk, March, Gross etc.

I think Gerrard as a pundit is more worrying than him managing us.
His interviews now are bad enough.

All the close close friends of his going on about his ego?.

His biggest howler ever, though we will never know now, last game of the premier league last season, took Coutinho off after 72 minutes when villa leading city 2-0, city scored 76,78,81 minutes to win the Prem.

He broke a "golden managerial rule" "don't try and fix it, if it ain't broke".

Also had he won, that disgraceful chant with regard to giving "the ball to Demba Ba" would have been off his back, he's now stuck with it forever.
