Bit of fantasy football: iam in no way saying we interested but if a choice to buy either Declan Rice or Jude Bellingham came about next summer who you going for ed001?

{Ed001's Note - Bellingham.}

Bellingham - higher potential.

2.) 15 Sep 2022
15 Sep 2022 21:14:20
Aldeady better than Rice!

3.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 07:35:32
Both.

4.) 16 Sep 2022

Be greedy, splash the cash and get both lol.

5.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 09:10:34
We’d be lucky to get chips and rice let alone Bellingham and Rice.

6.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 09:47:12
Rice only has a year left in the summer and isn't going to sign on with the Hammers again. don't think his fee will be as high as the crazy fees that have been thrown around.

7.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 09:58:57
I presume you nodded off when we bought Darwin JK?

8.) 16 Sep 2022

WDW it was a tongue in cheek comment on a banter site.

9.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 14:54:37
Set the alarm WDW.

10.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 15:53:03
both overrated. with 100M Liverpool can sign better non British midfielder. we already have Bajcetic who will come great player in 2-3 years.

11.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 16:30:30
Bajcetic is nowhere near Rice or Bellingham yet, but agree that he is an amazing prospect. I like his footwork and ball handling skills and he's a 17 year old playing with the big boys! The fact that he came on in the last game, while Arthur sat on the bench tells you what Klopp thinks.

12.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 16:30:54
What’s the alarm for Thrushthered. Not the super fan of the year awards is it?

13.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 17:54:25
Bajcetics class, getting bargains in like him, Elliott, Carvalho and Gordon in are what helps in us being able to blow a fortune on Bellingham in May.

{Ed025's Note - don’t put money on that Jude..

14.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 18:40:55
Done deal Ed, in the bag!

{Ed025's Note - I would check the bottom of that bag Jude. It may have a hole in it mate..

Folk are getting ahead of themselves with these youngsters of ours.
It's wishful thinking, for me.

16.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 20:16:49
I don't believe there's any way we get Bellingham. He's one of the most coveted players in Europe. Every big club on the continent will want him and a few can offer far more money.

When have we ever gone toe to toe against the likes of city, Madrid, psg for a player and come out on top? We usually just avoid the squabble and get someone more off piste.

17.) 16 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 21:07:50
The only way we get him is if he wants us, which he does.

18.) 17 Sep 2022
16 Sep 2022 21:15:53
I think there’ll be considerably more competition for his signature WDW than there was for Nunez, and all with considerably more money (eg Chelsea have apparently made £250m available to potter to spend, that’s what we’re up against) . At the end of the day, Money talks as does where the club are at, will he want to join a club with a midfield in as much disarray as ours where the tiniest flaw in his ability will be horribly exposed for less money than he’d get elsewhere or does he join City where he’ll get considerably more money and a club where he’s virtually guaranteed to win the premier league year in year out where there’s probably less pressure to perform, or Chelsea where he’s in the capital city and on a huge wage that we couldn’t match.

And that said. It’ll take more than one player to fix our problems in midfield and we can’t afford to buy him and another top quality player. Can’t see him coming I’m afraid as the situation doesn’t favour us.

It’s been said on here many times that our midfielders are here to do the hard graft.

For me how do we sell that to Bellingham. The City’s and Reals of this world would tell Bellingham that he has to work hard but has free reign to express himself with however creative he wants to be.

We would counter that by saying every time Trent goes forward you’re to cover his full back defensive space.

{Ed001's Note - does Elliot do that? Or Carvalho? You are just talking nonsense, tedious boring nonsense at that. It is simply not true. Fabinho and the centre-backs are to cover the space left behind the full-backs. If one of the midfielders takes it on themselves to drop back in to cover, it is to free up Fabinho.}

17 Sep 2022 09:38:25
Ed001 isn’t that what people have been criticising Elliot for though his defensive side of the game?

I personally thought Hendo when he plays covers a lot for Trent when he goes forward.

{Ed001's Note - is Klopp criticising that? Has Klopp dropped him for not doing it? I don't remember him doing either, so clearly he is happy with what he does. Who cares what 'people', whoever that is, criticise? Let's face it, most people just whine for the sake of whining and will find things to criticise even if life is great.}

17 Sep 2022 11:55:04
Really harsh Ed and frankly unneccessary to one of our better contributors.
JK has a valid point and the lack of MF cover has left Trent exposed for most of the season.

{Ed001's Note - what has that got to do with the convo on this thread? If you can't understand what you are reading, your post is the one that is unnecessary. You are completely missing the point.}

22.) 18 Sep 2022
17 Sep 2022 21:44:08
How about selling it to him that him and elliott can help become the best midfield around, one that can match even Citys going forward.

23.) 18 Sep 2022

Ed01, tell us how you really feel on the topic, lol. Seriously tho regarding what JK23 said about how we sell the idea of Bellingham tracking back to help the fullbacks, the guy literally does the whole tracking back thing right now at Dortmund.

I watched their game vs Hoffenhiem and the second half vs City and the engine on that kid is insane. In one breathe, he was in the City/ Hoffenhiem box and in another, he was recovering balls at the edge of his. Therefore, why would he have issues with tracking back to help whenever needed whereas he is doing the very same thing now at Dortmund?

Also as Ed01 has said, Bellingham actually WANTS to play for us so pretty sure he knows how we play already and what his role would entail in midfield. And to finish, JK23 is a big boy who can take a bit of harsh pushback as much as he gives in this forum. Not sure he needs anyone defending him as he is more than capable of doing that himself.

{Ed001's Note - he was excellent against Schalke as well, tracked back and generally stood out as head and shoulders above the rest on that pitch.}
