Looks like Bobby Firmino wants to stay, and I'm all for it. I get that we have probably been too loyal to certain players and kept hold of lads we should have moved on, but I don't think we need to go from one extreme to the other. He's a much better player than anyone else who would be willing to come in and effectively be 6th choice forward, he still has a lot to give and is a winner. The forward line on the whole is pretty young so the age isn't as much of an issue. Keep him on reduced terms if he's happy to accept, also, I wouldn't be against giving him a go in the midfield while we're struggling for options.

I’d keep him.
He’s more useful to us than whatever small fee we would get for him.

To many injuries to keep him am afraid. Time to move him on and give the kids a chance for me.

I would personally move him on as said already, the injuries are ramping up for him now so I’d let him go. As much as he’s a very gifted player I just think it would hinder the development of others in the squad.

That being said if he were to stay I think the likes of Gakpo and Nunez would learn so much from him, which would only be a good thing for their careers.

Bobby is my favourite player and is clearly a popular figure within the squad. Even so, I think it would make sense for him to be moved on.

ps I would love for us to go after Kai Havertz as his replacement but I know that would never happen with Bayern hovering.

Do we need a sixth choice forward?
Especially one of his age.

And why wouldn't he want to stay? Money he's on and only works 4 months of the year. Clear him out. Had his day.
THIS is why we don't get new players in transfer windows. Milly signed another year last summer. WHY?

You can’t buy what Bobby and milly as origi give us . Ultimate professionals. And without bobbys goals this season we would be a lot further down the league.

I hear the FA are starting a FIFA sanctioned O-35s league in 2025, looks like we are building up our squad Nicely - VVD, Matip, Hendo, Thiago, Millie, Bobby - that’s the spine of our team sorted ….

Keep him and get Carvalho out on loan.

Not saying Bobby should or shouldn't go but i don't think we need six forward players with the likes of Doak and Gordon at the club. Personally i'd like to see Jota leave this summer just because of the injuries and he'd actually fetch decent money.

Personally I hope we’re taken over by the summer so we’re not having to debate which decent players we can sell every time we need to buy a footballer.

If we let Bobby go we don’t have a natural successor at the moment.

If we let Jota go we don’t have a natural goal scorer / finisher to replace him (granted Nunez will hopefully prove me wrong) .

So unless we have plans for buying forwards to replace them for what they give to the squad I think it would be short sighted to let either go.

Agreed Thom I’d keep him. His injuries are frustrating but when fit he still has a lot to offer the team and gives us great depth. Although I do doubt we’ll keep all 6 for next season and manage to keep them happy.
