Momentum essential start of each season so getting a home game first up is very important. Every team raises themselves in front of home fans for first game more than away. You can forget the everyone played everyone nonsense for game one!

Let's see what happens at 9am heh.

{Ed025's Note - now im not sure on this 1jj but will the ground be closed for the first few games due to the new roof being installed?..

Yeah, what Ed025 said, I'm of the understanding Liverpool have requested the first few games to be played away from home in order to complete the extension work.

My money is on West Ham or Wolves away first game.

Chelsea away it is. Tough game that is and I expect them to be a different set up under Poch to how they finished the season. It’s been a while since we beat Chelsea in a game in normal time so a winning start against a team that should be a top 4 rival will be a good start.

First home game is the 19th against B mouth.

Well that’s a pretty tricky start - as I said it’s about momentum and that’s about as hard as it could have been. We may win them all and we are on a role but it’s about %s but hey ho what will be will be.

Well with those first few fixtures, we cannot say that we were not warned and now have to be ready to go from game one vs a rival on their patch. I see people losing theiir marbles already before a ball is being kicked in preseason. That's on them IMO cos well, fear is a choice.

For me, it's actually quite exciting which will make preseason a real humdinger, IMO. Remember when in 16/ 17 our first game was at Arsenal where at the time we couldn't buy a win? Yeah, we smoked them in that game and completely outplayed them from start to finish and we all know what would later happen from that game which ushered in us wining majority of our games at the start of that season. What's stopping us from doing the same thing this coming season? Nothing. Just my opinion.

It’s not the first time we’ve had this scenario, when the other stand was completed if memory serves me correctly, first games of the season we played away.

Also if memory serves me correctly we had a pretty good season too, we hit the ground running.

Yep, Kew17. It was the 16/ 17 season I was talking bout where we played away to Arsenal and Chelsea and then at home to League champions Leicester City in our first 5 games or so. Results? 3 wins in all those games. Season as a whole? We returned to the CL by kicking Arsenal off their Top 4 perch. Ain't seen them there since. Till last season.

{Ed025's Note - you really dont have to slag other teams off to make yourself feel better oli..

Unless it is slagging Man City cheats Ed, that's the only exception.

{Ed025's Note - yeah that works for me stone..
