We have been messing around with Lavia for months. Long before Henderson and Fabinho were tapped up by the Saudis so with their sale we have in effect an extra £50M to work with.

It is clear from our pre season that we are still vulnerable defensively and this is going to be our Achilles heal. We have to start well if we are going to challenge and it's disappointing we have not nailed these signings. Thankfully Chelsea are an even worse mess so we can get something from our first fixture.

Bottom line though is the longer we drag our heels on those we are truly chasing (90% crap media reports IMO), the more difficult it will be. We seem to have learnt nothing from the previous season.

The club will have a fee in. mind they are willing to spend. They could buy someone else for 80 million because they believe its a fair price.

Patemondo, the club is doing what it always does regarding recruitment, imo. Cos they look embarrassing and incompetent to you or le is not something they are arsed about cos they don’t do business with you nor me in mind.

We’re all going to have to be patient and see what happens. The good thing is that nobody is complaining that we are not trying to get the players we need. They are complaining that we are not doing it fast enuff. The club isn’t bothered about any of the latter, it seems.

Patemondo, the Saudis did not tap up Hendo or Fabinho. They went about business the proper way. At the end if the day, both players wanted to leave and they did so with the club's blessings. It may have been ideal for us and we definitely didn't plan for both of them to leave but that's just how it happens sometimes.

I use the analogy, you want to buy a car and have 15k. You see one for 7k, but thinks it’s worth 5k or you seem one for 15k and you think it’s worth about that. Which is the better deal?
