Ed001 we have had a good start to the season, but we have been very lucky the games up to now. And all are troubles are down to Klopp and these silly tactics and team's selections. Everybody can see what's not working yet we start every game with them then we change and we look like a totally different side.
I just hope Klopp sorts this out or are 4 wins and a draw from the first 5 games could turn into a run of losses if teams punish us us more at the start of games.
Stick to 433
Don't start Jota
Don't start Mac Allister as a number 6.

When you think about it though, since the very day we shifted to an inverted fullback role

We haven’t lost a single game ?.

You more interested in results or performances? Completely new set of midfielders, being down 10 men, playing a midday game straight after international breaks, missing Trent, VVD. I'll take 13 points from our first 5 games. Agree on the hybrid stuff but it worked like a treat against Villa. So as long as Klopp is flexible with it, i now think we'll be ok.

Has Alexis been this bad the whole season?

If your child isn’t doing that well in mixing in playgroups but you see it as a massive string to his or her social well-being do you just drop them out or persevere and help them, thus giving them another strong to their bow as the grow older?

God some are so pathetically critical just look at the results. In a team sport you need to be able to flex and change: tactics, roles, players with differing capabilities, etc. last time we were the top team over time we were found out with continued silo tactic this time change within a game of the first tactic doesn’t work is seemingly working! It’s good overall management by specialists more able than us!

I think some fans are just a little critical as a defensive tactic- even when it’s going well. They love the club and want it to succeed so very much that it hurts- and that when things start going wrong they get a sense of relief (and importance) that they called the bad results to come. It hurts less to be ”right” in a way. Just a thought and most likely as accurate as rashford this season.

Don’t give a crap about performances to tbh, if it takes Gomez or Trent or whoever the fans say has played crap to get roasted and we win everything 3-1 I’ll be a happy man.

@OP, I has a manager years and years who said something that I can still remember. He said you can’t be unlucky all the time. I’d argue that, similarly, you can’t be lucky all the time.

We are 16 PL games unbeaten (11 wins 5 draws) .

We might have lucky moments during games - all teams do - but we’ve also been unlucky - Macca send off, injuries to our defence most recently - but the run of games owes more to a good squad a good manager and the capability to adapt during games rather than (good or bad) luck.

You make your luck. Or your bad luck. It's all about the moments in a 38 game season. Or as Klopp has said it many times; "it's all about the moments, how you react to them and how you act within them". Right now, and so far, we're doing beautifully and I believe we are title contenders. Not only does it feel like we have a bigger squad than we have had in a long time, but the new players are showing a "hunger" to win that's made us come back 3 times from being behind in 4 games.

At the end of the season those "W's" are all that matter.

Grino75, where have we been lucky, exactly? You think Newcastle was luck or something? At this point of the season, you want to put as many points on the board as you can while getting things going fitness and rhythm-wise and we are doing that despite some clangers and things we need to improve on. There is no luck, here. It's football.

We have had our moments in games and have taken them with aplomb while at the same time, denying other teams theirs. That's not luck, bro. That's preparation and focus and staying switched on. On to WH.

I think the issue here is a worrying trend that we have to comeback in every game. We cannot continue to go down a goal and expect to win, that is not sustainable. Teams will start to punish us.

RedMob, I just chalk it down to things that need to be improved upon and the good thing is that, Klopp always says that we need to do better and start games better in everyone of his pressers this season. He's aware and is working on things.

Oli, I appreciate that he's aware but this has been going on since the start of last season. Only difference is our attack is firing and able to turn it around. I feel like we should just start the game down a goal to get it over with ;)
