Hi Ed002. Now that Liverpool have got their finances completely in order, and have a good young manager who gets the best out of all his players, Do you expect them to invest heavily in the squad again this summer? As a fan I feel that lfc are certainly on the up swing and feel excited for the future. We're certainly in good hands!

becauseoftheTimes

{Ed002's Note - I really have no idea what you are talking about. You obviously don't understand the finances of the club, the large amount of debt the club is carrying nor the FFP regulations.}

1.) 08 Mar 2015 18:30:46
Ed I know the net debt went up £12m does that mean our debt is around £120m now? And what percentage split is that with regards to who it's owed to, owners, banks etc?

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to get in to the detail as it confuses too many people but the total debt was in excess of £130M for the 2013/14 financial year that has just been reported. This year will start seeing that grow (as expected) because of work beginning on the stadium.}

2.) 08 Mar 2015 22:14:10
Good young manager ??????

The rose tinted fools have returned.

£120 million spent and our finances are in order ?

Have you seen the wage bill ??

What a weird post !

What is up with you the op and other folk on this site, I myself have read to excellent replies from Ed002 today, one referring to FFP and the other to what Ed002 thinks the summer will bring. Both are very easy to understand and the one on FFP let's you know where the club stand now and in the near future!

So instead of you posting the same crap take a little time and read up and you will or should understand the currant situation our club is in. We Liverpool football club have not yet got our finances in order.

We might be moving in the right direction but with renovating our stadium amongst other things, it will take a few yrs for this great club to be in order of debt and FFP.
Us as fans will have to support our club and the owners who are doing a damn good job will sort the finances out am sure.

Spot on, Knuckles!

Hello Ed002. Do you think Liverpool will approach Spurs for Harry Kane as we are a much bigger club than Spurs. Rodgers also has a brilliant record of developing young players?

becauseoftheTimes

{Ed002's Note - No I can't see that happening. I am not so sure that Rodgers has a "brilliant" record of developing young players either. If you are thinking of the likes of Ibe and Ojo, then the credit goes to the Academy staff and not to Rodgers.}

1.) 08 Mar 2015 14:38:12
You could say that about every manager at every club Ed

{Ed002's Note - Yes, of course. I have never suggested otherwise.}

2.) 08 Mar 2015 15:58:37
Surely Rogers must get some credit for improving Sterling, Hendo, Couts, Can, Sturridge etc.

{Ed002's Note - Sure but they are all first team players.}

3.) 08 Mar 2015 18:57:41
As would harry kane in relation to the OP

4.) 09 Mar 2015 04:29:40
Ed002, don't liverpool bring a lot more youngsters from their academy into their first team than Chelsea do?

{Ed002's Note - So the obsession with Chelsea continues.}

5.) 09 Mar 2015 08:02:40
Yes they do Hendostheman. But they also bring in a lot less in recent years than United, Arsenal, Soton, Spurs etc, so if it's just numbers that matter all you're really saying is we're not the worst which is irrelevant

6.) 10 Mar 2015 02:55:56
Chelsea bring players thru BUT they rare if not never, get to play for the first team on a consistent basis. Then again, Chelsea is not the standard for measuring success on that front so using them as a comparison is unfair and misleading

Good evening Eds, I would just like to ask a question regarding the almost inevitable change of manager this summer. Do you think there is any will within the club to have Rafa Benitez back at the helm? Looking at it from an objective point of view, it would seem like a logical solution. He has a record of qualifying for the champion league on a regular basis, winning trophies, managing and attracting big name players, and he has an affinity with the fans and city. But are there still people within the club who would resist his appointment? Many thanks.

becauseoftheTimes

{Ed001's Note - there is still resistance, as he is anything but the objective or logical choice.}

1.) 13 Jan 2015 09:04:10
No more looking back. It's fair to say that during his time he was probably one of the top ten managers in Europe, but time moves forward. We burnt ourselves badly with the King, we won't do that again in a hurry.

2.) 13 Jan 2015 10:52:08
It was hardly a failure of the sort you indicate Red Lenin when he took us to two finals (winning one) and finished in eighth. didn't the owners just indicate they're happy with where the team currently are (and we were ninth)? The thing that lost Kenny the job was the constant requirement to defend LS to the press and the owners during numerous problems.

3.) 13 Jan 2015 12:26:46
You know, I'm sure there are computer simulators that could make a pretty accurate Shankley or Paisley, let's do that!

4.) 13 Jan 2015 14:01:06
A premier League club these days is first and foremost a business, Two cup finals is not where the money is - top four and Champions League is where the money is and that is what managers/coaches of any PL team considered top flight are expected to attain - every season. And if you believe the owners are happy with where the team currently are, after all the money they have ploughed in you are barking. Rodgers will be out on his 'arris come the summer as fast as the King was - precisely because he has failed them. It's a cruel game and there is no room for failure.

5.) Weird Science style. .

When you say messed around I take it you mean Liverpool just don't want to sell? And why would they when he's an integral part of the squad.

becauseoftheTimes

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool had given him permission to find a new club.}

I don't know what's more shocking. The fact that people actually part with their hard earned cash to receive this information or they actually believe he as inside knowledge.
