I think Tottenham will be well up for spoiling the party on Sunday. Safe from relegation and absolutely nothing to play for. Hope we batter them and bring it home in style.
1.) 24 Apr 2025 05:26:06
You do know they have a European semi- final next week?
2.) 24 Apr 2025 07:17:10
yes but nothing to play for in the league was what I meant.
3.) 24 Apr 2025 07:30:12
I thought palace mightnt have been too bothered last nite considering they a cup semi final in 3 days. I well out with that assessment. you just wouldn't know with spurs, could turn up half asleep r could turn up and give performance of the season.
4.) 24 Apr 2025 07:37:50
If we can’t beat this Spurs team at home, then we have played like there was nothing to play for!
{Ed078's Note - who's suggesting we can't beat Spurs at home?
5.) 24 Apr 2025 08:02:08
I think Spurs would love nothing more than to put our title celebrations on hold.
6.) 24 Apr 2025 09:02:56
Cheer up lads, we’re about to win the league.
7.) 24 Apr 2025 09:19:27
Spurs hate Arsenal more than anything else. Seem to remember last season when Arsenal were relying on spurs and they rolled over and let City tickle their bellies. Particularly funny as the spurs players were laughing and joking at the end of the match, while the fans were celebrating Arsenal losing. Think it’ll be a comfortable win.
{Ed078's Note - had a coffee with a mate this morning, Arsenal fan, who has such hate for Spurs that I can't really comprehend, and I hate ManU as much as the next scouser.
8.) 24 Apr 2025 09:31:59
Hardly going to want to help Arsenal are they.
9.) 24 Apr 2025 09:34:02
There's too much hate going around in football actually. I can't imagine hating a person just because they support a different team that I do.
10.) 24 Apr 2025 13:23:26
Spurs might well be 'up' for spoiling the party. Unfortunately for them, they're not very good and are managed by a complete fraud.
{Ed014's Note - Jesus I watched them the other night against Forest, they are an utter disaster, the keeper is nearly or maybe even worse than Onana.
Midfielders just heading the ball aimlessly anywhere instead of either heading to a team mate or simply controlling it.
It’s like they’re all afraid of the ball with no idea what to do with it!

Ed01, what's the feeling on Jota's future at the club? For me, all of our front players bring a different skill set and threat, and Jota certainly has popped up with some invaluable goals over the years.
I would love him to get a run of games and stay fit but I'm super skeptical going forwards. I was reading he's missed 66 games in the last 2 1/ 2 seasons so for me I'd take a decent offer for him in the summer.
{Ed001's Note - there has been a search for replacements for him ongoing, so clearly the feeling is that his injuries are not going to get any less.}
1.) 31 Jan 2025 00:21:26
Is there any interest in Jota ed001? All very well saying sell him but does anyone want to buy a striker with a pretty dodgy injury record?
{Ed001's Note - a little bit, from the continent.}
2.) 31 Jan 2025 07:11:01
Ed001 Are they still looking at replacing Darwin as well?
Looking from outside to in it looks like we could be going from what is a pretty settled squad from the Klopp to Slot transition to an overhaul.
Salah, Virg, Trent, Konate, Diaz, Mac, Harvey, Endo, Chiesa, Darwin and Jota all in different situations of being linked one way or another with moves away.
{Ed001's Note - if the right offer comes in, then Darwin would be sold too. But it would need to be enough to fund the replacement totally - transfer fee and wages.}
3.) 31 Jan 2025 08:56:18
Ed01, you're right cos those injuries will not stop the older Jota gets as he will be 29 already this year, I think. Also, I don't know about you but I don't see both Darwin and Jota being sold cos IMO, that would mean we need two replacements (except they deem Danns is ready as a real option/ backup hence one replacement) and that could be too much to do in one window. What say you, sir?
And lastly based on what you said, it seems like Jota is the first one they are looking to really move on for obv. reasons whereas for Darwin, it will depend on the right offer esp. cos he has 3 years left on his deal hence if that doesn't happen, the club may have to keep him. Is that a fair assemssment? Cheers, mate.
{Ed001's Note - yeah that seems fair, though neither is seen as a long term fit.}
4.) 31 Jan 2025 09:21:50
Didn’t Jota just buy a house in Liverpool? £4m I heard?
That would suggest he thinks he’s going nowhere.
{Ed001's Note - he can afford it mate. He gets a big sponsorship due to his EA affiliation as they like having a real footballer as a top end player of their game. I actually think he is going to end up settling in Liverpool when he retires as he seems very settled.}
5.) 31 Jan 2025 10:02:20
Thanks for the response. I can agree that neither is seen as the long term solution. I just think that should Jota leave, I do not see the club just offloading Darwin below whatever evaluation they have for him due to the 3 years left on his deal so in that scenario, Darwin could be kept and then offloaded the summer after. Well, we shall see.
6.) 31 Jan 2025 10:49:50
A move to Moyesy's Everton, perhaps?
I suppose the weather in Northwest England suits his video game hobby better than sunny Portugal.
7.) 31 Jan 2025 12:22:32
His £4 million house is an investment. It'll be worth about £6 million in 4 months the way house prices are on Merseyside.
11 Jun 2025 19:20:11
I think w Wirtz and Kerkez coming in the club will focus on sales before they bring in more players. Just my opinion of course.
10 Jun 2025 21:57:53
app a done deal now.
03 Jun 2025 12:29:54
Vick, can u please chime in?
01 Jun 2025 21:37:20
Jones and Elliott squad players at best should never start a game.
22 May 2025 18:28:55
I'd keep Endo. Never let us down this season. I'd like to see him get more minutes. OP you didn't mention Elliott. As much as he loves the club, he's too small for a mid and too slow for a forward. He's a bit like Emile Smith Rowe for me and I think he'll do well at a similar level club.
11 Jun 2025 19:22:16
Well we didn't spend anything last season so I would imagine we have the cash. But what a fantastic time to be a Liverpool fan. We won the league without adding anyone and now it looks as tho we mean business. Straight shootout next year between us and City looks like.
10 Jun 2025 03:15:25
Elliott not physical enough and doesn't work like a midfielder should. Too slow for a forward. He's a 10 at best and we have better in that position. Needs to be moved on. No buy back. Maybe a sell on clause.
07 Jun 2025 05:19:00
Ed would that be dependent on outgoings?
{Ed001's Note - no. Though it would mean clearing space in the squad.}
02 Jun 2025 19:30:55
Ed agreed and didn't Anelka really want the move? Madness at the time.
{Ed001's Note - yeah, he was very happy in Liverpool and wanted to stay long term. Such a shame.}
01 Jun 2025 21:39:28
Kelleher only a year left. 18m seems way too low but he's free next season.
