ED002, as we aren’t going for Ugarte, are we showing interest in Lavia as media are reporting. Are there any complications with this ie Man City interest or past tapping up by Klopp?
{Ed002's Note - Romeo Lavia (DM) was purchased by Southampton from Manchester City as the long term Romeu replacement. Southampton will not want to sell and a significant offer from Chelsea was rejected, but Manchester City have the option to buy the player back if he is made available in 2024. Chelsea may return with another offer in the summer as they look for two DM playershb, but do have two preferred choices. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have sent scouts. Arsenal see him as a cut price option to Rice or Caicedo but the cost could be huge. Lavia will become homegrown.}

Neves is not the one for me, great passer but not mobile enough and doesn’t screen the back four that well. Think he’s a 5,5,9 type player, but not consistent enough to be the main man in a title challenging team.

Agree to disagree Firmane. I think he's a consistent 7 out of 10 and leadership material too. Works hard, tenacious etc. Maybe tries the hollywood pass or shot too often but that is very likely reflective of how average his team mates are. I like him a lot. Barcelona will probably get him anyway but he'd be my first choice for DM. Perfect age as well, just hitting his peak.

Ed002 do you think we are realistic contenders for Macallister this summer? Is there anything to suggest we may also go in for rabiot. I would be happy with these 2!
{Ed002's Note - Alexis Mac Allister (CM/AM) Brighton are not looking to sell the player but are aware of interest from Borussia Dortmund, Juventus and, particularly, Atletico Madrid. Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs have had scouts attending Brighton games to watch several players and have apparently all taken note of him. Chelsea cannot be ruled out. Manchester City are keen. Could be hugely expensive.
Adrian Rabiot (CM/DM) Juventus are looking to replace their midfield misfits (Zakaria, Arthur, McKennie, and Rabiot). They are looking to fund replacements they have already identified. Rabiot will, like every other player, be offered to Newcastle. A third party has been instructed to find him a new home and whilst he could have been used in part exchanges previously he has let his contract run down and will leave as a Free Agent in the summer. He was offered to Chelsea as part of a deal for any of several Chelsea players Juventus are interested in, but Chelsea wanted to keep transfers as clean as possible. With Manchester United struggling to find midfield players, he becomes a squad option but the wages being asked could kill off any deal. A return to PSG is seen as an option but PSG have preferred targets. Monaco is a good option. Approaches have been made to Barcelona - but they will look to others, and Arsenal who have a much preferred target but should not be discounted. Liverpool, Everton and Spurs may provide options having scouted the player on more than one occasion.}
