Ed Do you know if PSG intend to sign Coutinho? Le 10 sport are reporting him to be a main target of theirs this morning.

Thanks ed!

1.) 02 Jun 2016 15:24:08
Surely at Coutinho age he will want to play a better standard football than the French league.

2.) 02 Jun 2016 16:14:43
Mighty,
There's a Brazilian core, however great Liverpool is, the attraction of life in Paris is huge, he could double his salary and would have not only Champions League football, but a chance of winning it.
The only way we could persuade him not to leave for PSG would be the Suarez-esque Barcelona or Real will come in next summer if you stay.

3.) 02 Jun 2016 17:40:07
toddy, no Gerard the Persuasive around this time.

4.) 02 Jun 2016 18:15:50
Gerard the persuader? Wtf he didn't persuade suarez to stay he just likes to think he did, if i remember correctly it was lucas who persuaded suarez to stay for another season not Gerard! If klopp can't convince him to stay then cut him loose thanks for the service and all the best to him in his future, if he doesn't try and leave by being an idiot etc then why should he be slated? Anyway he hasn't gone yet so he might stay.

5.) 02 Jun 2016 18:47:56
Gerrard told him not to go and join Arsenal Suarez even said it himself.

6.) 02 Jun 2016 19:18:36
Neither of you can even spell Gerard, so neither of you had the right to pass judgement. Only bants lads, don't take it to heart.

7.) 03 Jun 2016 01:33:36
The 'replace one great player with a few decent ones' approach really worked when we sold Suarez didn't it? Neither did it work when we replaced Torres with. ummm. Carroll. Keep Coutinho - he is 23 for god's sake! Sell him to Barcelona for 50m and watch him thrive as Suarez has done? No thanks. That was how Rodgers and King Kenny operated. Pretty sure Klopp knows a gem when he sees one.

8.) 03 Jun 2016 02:46:15
Sydneyred,
A) Coutinho is not on the level Suarez was the season he left. I think Suarez scored 31 league goals then and Couts got 7 this year. He's a great player but not on that level.
B) Klopp has shown he knows a gem when he sees one at BVB, you are right. Hence, if he sold Couts I'm confident he'd replace him adequately.
You may say this buying lots of young players rather than one marquee player to replace outgoing stars doesn't work, but from Suarez we now have Emre Can and Divock Origi- the spine of our starting XI for years to come. Sure, we didn't replace Suarez's goals and creativity in the short term but can that not be attributed to Sanchez rejecting us?
I love Coutinho as much as the next man, but unlike Suarez was, Couts is not irreplaceable. If PSG offered £60million I'd have to say thank you very much and be off.
We don't want to be a selling club, I get that, but from a financially sensible point of view we'd be getting a good price for an inconsistent player who may not be completely committed to the club. Not to bash the lad in any way.

9.) 03 Jun 2016 11:26:20
AnfieldAndy I think you will find its you that has spelt Gerard wrong! Just bants lad!

Ed It's reported that Benfica have an agreement with Braga for Rafa Silva to replace Gaitan. Do you think think this will likely prompt an offer from Liverpool. or we are targeting someone else perhaps?

Thanks Ed!

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - Braga will be looking to a summer auction and have as many of the interested clubs as possible make an offer.}

1.) 22 May 2016 01:18:19
Haven't seen him play but looks like he plays like markovic, why not just stick with him?

2.) 22 May 2016 07:31:57
We need a winger/ forward regardless Fency, do you actually think sticking with ibe, ojo and markovic will achieve anything next season. We need better players, silva would be that but assessing him is difficult because of the league he plays in and the fact that probably none of us have actually watched him play a match. I agree we should stick with markovic but we should defenitly make one further addition in that area and I'm not talking about goetze (unless lallana was to leave) .

3.) 22 May 2016 12:10:48
We need a winger, fair enough. If we were to buy real proven quality then yeah fine. By were buying another unproven player, very similar to markovic, in the same position. A player with big potential, and never really got a chance. If we bought silva and sold markovic we would just be losing more money. At least give him and chance before replacing him before he's been given one. If silva comes in and doesn't cut its, it's another big mistake.

Ed, A Bola in Portugal are suggesting that we are negotiating with Braga for Rafa Silva, do you know if there's any truth to this?

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer if tehre are any negotiations going on at this time.}

1.) 20 Apr 2016 16:44:42
Is he any relation of E Bola.

2.) 20 Apr 2016 18:46:47
Do you think he'd be a good signing Ed? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - As I have said, Liverpool are very interested and I did move him to the top of the list when I did the last summary. He is very well thought of.}

3.) 20 Apr 2016 18:59:02
Cheers.

4.) 20 Apr 2016 23:13:02
Thanks for your info ed, do you think this would indicate Ibe's departure perhaps?

{Ed002's Note - I don't think it indicates that but as I have said the club may be done with Ibe.}

5.) 21 Apr 2016 04:41:45
Very good player, but the cost will be prohibitive especially if the Mancs and Barcelona get involved. Any updates on Bellarabi Ed002, or has he only been scouted so far?

{Ed002's Note - Bayer Leverkusen's Karim Bellarabi's was previously looked at by West Ham, Montpellier and Chelsea but interest from those sides went when he signed a new long-term contract last year. Both Arsenal and Manchester City made their interest known to Bayer Leverkusen both in the summer and leading up to the January window when Inter also declared an interest. It is just possible that Arsenal could try and get further talks going. If Inter were to qualify for the Champions League next season it will give them a significant boost if Bayer Leverkusen were to look to sell and they had the money available - however Bayer Leverkusen are keen for him to stay and I expect he will. Liverpool have had scouts watch him but have taken it no further.}

hi ed, do you anything of the purported LFC interest in Inaki Williams?

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - No, not from Liverpool.}

1.) 16 Jan 2016 20:38:35
Literally two posts down the same question, I can see why you get annoyed eds!

21 Apr 2015 18:37:38
Ed do you know if the interest in Depay is a replacement for Sterling?
Cheers

LongfordRed

{Ed001's Note - I don't, I will have to see if I can find out what is going on there as I am not sure if the situation surrounding Sterling has changed over the last couple of weeks.}

1.) 21 Apr 2015 23:14:06
That will be great, if he doesn't want to commit himself. I guess depay is the right replacement and we should pay any amount for him. Enough of loosing out on quality players or good talents.

Ed apologies if this has been asked before though I couldn't find anything on the site. Do you think the club would look to recruit Mane aswell as Gotze or is it a case of one or the other.

Many Thanks ed!

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts about such things at all.}

22 Jan 2016 14:30:40
ed out of interest if Benteke and/ or Sturridge are sold in the summer do you know of any strikers LFC would perhaps pursue? Thanks ed!

LongfordRed

{Ed001's Note - it is likely we would return for Teixeira, though I do not expect Studger to go anywhere yet.}

1.) 22 Jan 2016 15:22:44
Do you see Teixeira staying put until summer then mate. Hope he's still available then.

{Ed001's Note - Shakhtar's owner is unlikely to let him go.}

26 Jan 2014 17:16:50
Ed have you heard of any alternatives to Salah that LFC may be interested in and do you know of any DM's we are interest in? Thanks in advance and keep up the great work!

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

25 Jan 2014 23:24:43
Ed do you know of any LFC interest in Saul Niguez of Athletico and would a transfer be possible btw since he's currently on loan?

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - See previous answer.}

Ed any idea who the club will look at in midfield if Zielinski and Dahoud are ruled out?

LongfordRed

{Ed001's Note - not yet I don't sorry.}

Ed so Bayern are ok with Gotze staying. Seems a really odd situation since i'm guessing a new contract isn't on the cards for him there?

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - The window is yet to open - ignore the noise.}

Ed would Monchengladbach really sell Dahoud? They've just lost two first choice midfielders already.

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - Borussia Monchengladbach have rejected an approach from Spurs about the availability of Mahmoud Dahoud who came to their attention whilst scouting Granit Zhaka earlier in the season. Whilst the club remain firm that he will not be leaving, Dortmund have made an approach to Monchengladbach as they view Dahoud as a possible replacement for Gundogan who will be leaving in the summer. Manchester City has also had the player watched this season and when the issue was raised with the Eberl he re-iterated that the player will not be sold. Juventus has made an enquiry. I am not aware of any declared interest in the player from Liverpool.}

Ed the other midfield player would be Dahoud I'd assume, Is it Liverpool who are pushing for him?

Thanks ed! and great to you back on the site.

LongfordRed

{Ed002's Note - No, Hazard.}
