You couldn't do anything but moan after that, RedA.
Almost all of that team is unable to tackle. I've never bought into that new midfield since the season began.

Moaning is partly what it's for RedA. That and a space to have a back and forth with a community of regular attendees. You'd be more than welcome. That game was the worst thing I've seen since last Thursdays game and then the weekend one and then the Thursday before one. Seriously what has happened to us? Mental.

I agree rigsby, I think our midfield has always been suspect under klopp but at least hendo Fabinho and wijnaldum brought something to the team which enabled the attack and defence to do what they needed to do to dominate. Now it’s just something the defence and attack have to carry and hide its flaws, and when the individual brilliance couldn’t save us anymore, we buckled like most rational fans knew would happen. You could see it brewing with the performances, but some just fall for the romantic side of things rather than logic. That midfield was never good enough, not at the elite level where arsenal and city are at anyway.
They say the table never lies and it well and truly did when we were top as long as we were. Arsenal for me have been the best team out of the 3 and deserve to win the league, but city once again rubbishhoused it with every advantage they need to win the league year in year out.

You're right, Kman.
Fab, Henderson, Wijnaldum and even Milner were capable of winning the ball back and strong enough to hold onto it. Add to that Salah, Mane and Firminho were also able to do it.
To be fair, the midfielders' legs went a bit but we also decided to bring in players like Thiago, Elliott and Carvalho who are not going to win the ball back. And in the summer Szob and Grav come in and they are the same. We did sign a bargain basement ball winner in Endo and he's done ok but he's not going to win us the League.
We're a top four side at best and we have accrued a lot of points without playing well which, hopefully, should stand us in good stead.

Oddly enough, we are far from out of it, 2 games in hand of Spurs. A win over Wolves, 4 games without defeat sounds better. I would take a clean sheet against United ArAy.

Very selective to ignore the 5 conceded against Real Madrid, and that 10 man Newcastle should've had 4 were it not for Alisson. Or that Palace could've had 3 or 4. The defence has been awful. We've just been lucky to play 3 teams in the league who don't score enough goals.

That’s a very pessimistic view MK. Most teams will create chances against you no matter how good your defence is it’s the premier league. That’s why having a top keeper is so important.
The fact that we’ve conceded 0 goals in 3 games means we are defending better than we were which gives us something to build from.
Even against Madrid we conceded 5 (4 very, very sloppy goals I agree) but they only had 6 shots on target so again it shows that we are not conceding chance after chance like we were before.
Take the little wins MK we haven’t had much of them this season.

Is it me, perhaps as I don’t watch as much football anymore, but other than Alonso I’m not excited by any of the potential managers out there. Guess it’s because Klopp is such a hard act to follow. I always loved Alonso as a player for us, so perhaps I’ve been slightly blinkered by that, but he does seem to be excelling. Anyhow, got an exciting few weeks coming up, hopefully we can get on a winning run again. ?.

Because he’s a 30 year old player who is clearly a short term measure… the frustration is that he’s 30, so declining here on in, he’s not well known at the age of 30 coming from a weaker league (says it all), he’ll take up a foreign spot, and how have we managed to get in this mess that we need to sign short term cover. It’s laughable. Oh are we holding out for Bellingham in 5 years time.
Let’s hope he wants to sign for someone else.

I don’t think people are airing their frustrations because they haven’t heard of the player or he is relatively cheap, I think it’s more how comical our transfer window has played out, in the media anyway. I could get behind Endo if he was 25-27, but 30 with no premier league, taking a foreign spot, just screams complete desperation. And it’s still costing a fair bit of money. It’s nothing like a Milner or Gary Mac transfer at all. Other than he’s old. The other two had loads of premier league experience and were free or very cheap. My opinion anyway.

Am I missing something here, but all I’m reading is some journalist has said our opening offer has been rejected. If true that’s fine isn’t it… and presumably happens often…? Not sure what the issue is. It might be best to let it play out and ignore the attempted hour by hour update from journalists. Anyhow, let’s hope we get some of targets over the next month or so ?.
