Surprised Chelsea not looking at him it appears they are trying to buy pretty much every other player in the world .

{Ed002's Note - Manu Kouadio Kone (CM/DM/AM) Prior interest of Milan has gone. Newcastle did approach Borussia Muenchegladbach but they will resist a sale and try and agree a new deal. Watched by a number of Premier League sides including West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Brighton. A wildcard maybe PSG. Way down the list for Chelsea but Vivell may push for him - which could spell the end for Loftus Cheek.}

{Ed002's Note - So what does that mean - Klopp following him around?}

A serious question for the Ed’s if I may? I read something the other day (sorry can’t quote the source as it was something I read without taking much real notice at the time, but it popped back into my head with Ed02 mentioning Chelsea’s transfer list.

The article mentioned that Chelsea are now focussing on transfer targets based primarily on performance statistics. My question is - would that be correct and, if so, is this something that most other ‘elite’ clubs would do or is it a (relatively) new way of identifying targets?

{Ed002's Note - Most clubs have analysts as part of the recruitment team. Chelsea are trying to reduce the age of the first team and dealing with players who are leaving and have very clear senior targets. They have also, for sometime, been working on a project to recruit and bring through Academy youngsters to ease the way to have a leading team in years to come - and the statistics are being used to assist that process. Certainly Liverpool use statistical data as well.}
