Thanks for all your hard work. Please can you confirm if we are looking to buy 1 CDM and 1 CM or just 1 CDM only. With all the outgoings including Hendo and Fab, it would be crazy to sign only one more midfielder.

I don't like agreeing with Ed2 ;-) but he is right, going into the season with Matip and Gomez devoid of confidence and playing this badly as backups to Konate and VVD is very worrying. I would like to see more protection for the defence as well. I love the all out attack and high press, but there has to be a balance and we currently look like conceding on every counter attack (as we did last season for most of the year as well! )

If you can't see it then you are not being realistic.

You need to recognise and learn from mistakes, otherwise those mistakes don't get remedied. I am sure Klopp can see this and just hope he can remedy it.

Getting a new CB is as obvious as the midfield last year. It is an absolute necessity to get a really good one in.

All indications are that Klopp is making efforts to bring one in. I'm slightly worried that the work in midfield will cause us to miss out on adding CB. Let's wait and see I guess.

Definitely agree that the defence needs an upgrade as does the DM cover in front of it. I’m happy with our attacking options but it is worrying how easily far inferior teams are tearing right through us just as we saw time and time again last season. Pre-season it may be but I still think it’s a good indicator of tactics, momentum, confidence and where the gaps are. Defence just looks absolutely all over the place.

I think Klopp’s comments about a lot of the players getting 50 minutes game time and nobody getting injured was the most important aspects of the game from the club perspective. Whilst a win in a pre-season friendly is a boost for those of us with a nervous disposition it’s not really the point in matches we’re we have 22 or 23 players getting a run out to shake off the cobwebs and work on the system (s) we want to play for the coming season.

The defence has only ever been solid when Vvd was on his best form, there hasn’t been a time we’ve been solid without him being on it. Klopps got it all to do as Vvd form is very questionable atm so I’m not sure what we will be like.

The back line had far more to do last season, in the absence of our midfield. I'm not saying we have the squeaky clean defense but the suggestions fans are making about how out of form our CB's are is a bit premature. Our CB's will have more time to compose themselves this season if our energy up the pitch is better.

Adrian getting a new contract i’ll never understand. Should have been gone 3 years ago, he’s probably a nice guy and all but i genuinely reckon he’s as bad as i’ve seen play for us especially those who’ve played quite a few games and not just 1 or 2. And we’ve had some poor players down the years.

generally, i agree, our back up options aren't the best, but that's why they are back ups. most times there will only be 1 or 2 on the pitch at the same time so thery will be normally playing with our best players which can generally make them raise their game or will cover some deficiencies. let's not panic too soon over early pre season games, stilll some weeks to get in extra boodies of the required quality. im more concerned the time its taking hendo n fabs to get gone so we can spend their fees lol.

Ed25, the club is doing all it can to get the defenders and midfielders in and as long as that is the case, Im good and Im not worried. If we weren't interested in fixing these issues then, I'll be worried. They are hence, Im not. That's just me.

{Ed025's Note - if the right player is available I’m sure they will go all out for him oli. But klopp won’t settle for second best mate ..
