I like the deep Shipley, there’s a nice Italian restaurant opposite too. Does a lovely pepperoni pizza and a beautiful caramel gelato ?.

I’m from the Hull area. It has its rough parts but I’d encourage anyone to go on an old town pub crawl. Well over a dozen decent pubs plus there’s the marina and Humber st.

Agreed Hesslered, it's about the only decent place in Hull to have a good pint. The other week I was out in old town, I love the old traditional pubs so always in my element when out down there. Not bad prices either, depending on where you go of course.

Good luck to Carvalho, I hope it works out well for him. They could very well end up getting a play off spot, I have my doubts but it'd be good to see.

So ironic I woke up this am to a WhatsApp from my uncle who lives in Anlaby, West Hull. The video was a pub crawl around the old town. Brought back many memories for me. Some new pubs and some oldies. Haven't been back there (old town) since 96 when I left. Tom I'm guessing you are from Hessle I'm also from Anlaby. Been in the states since I left.

A load of people who have never been to Hull slagging it off, it seems.

I'm from here, born and bred. Love the place. Yeah there are garbage places but certainly no worse than the south east or north west.

Sorry Little Switzerland was a wooded area by the River Humber near to Hessle. They flattened it to build the Humber Bridge.
