I really cannot understand why everyone seems to be raving about tielemans. As far as I can work out all he's done is won Leicester the fa cup final. Please tell me there's no interest.

Leicester signed him for £40m, they’re not going to let him go for less than £70m, I’d call that a non starter.

He’s a holding midfielder generally… why on earth do we need another one. Goal scoring midfielder is what we need.

Tielemans scored 11 goals last season despite not being the main penalty taker. What more do you want from a midfielder? That's pretty much what De Bruyne gets on average.

I don't think Tielemans is the right player for our system, but to use a lack of goals as a stick to beat him with seems silly.

Didnt realise he scored 11 without peno's, that's actually brilliant. but like victor said above he'd cost £70m and i think at this stage we shouldn't be signing any1 for huge money who doesn't walk into our 1st team and im not sure Tielemans would.

I would not describe him as a holding midfielder… Ndidi plays deeper than him in the Leicester system 🤷‍♂️.

{Ed001's Note - he is not in any way a holding midfielder. He is a central midfielder who likes to break forward. He has always played with a deeper lying midfielder behind him, such as Ndidi, to do the holding role.}

Spot on, Ed. Which is why Tielemans struggled for Belgium in a double pivot with Witsel during the Euros. There was no DM doing the dirty work for him like Ndidi does at LC. For me, I don’t think he suits our system cos he does not press and is defensively, he is suspect esp without a DM doing the running for him. He won’t or can’t do the type of running and covering our other midfielders do. Luxury player BUT Still a good player, no doubt.
