Players now hold all the power. If Salah wants to go he will go. Will be sad if happens but don't think there is too much Klopp can do about it.

That’s not true. He’s under contract at Liverpool so if we say no then the answer is no.

Look at Harry Kane hankering after a move year after year but Spurs just saying no you’re staying here.

We might end up with an unhappy player but I don’t think Salah is the type to down tools.

Plenty Klopp can do. well just one thing, say NO.
Even if Mo wants to go, at this stage of the window it would be irresponsible to sell. So suck it up and play out the season or at least the next 4 months before ya get your "dream move"

But if they come in with an offer that is so massive that it makes no sense to turn down AND the player wants to go?!

It’s a team game not an individual game.

OP, you think the Saudis didn't know what they were doing when they threw in this bid with hours left? Come on, now.

Salah has made no indication that he wants to go and if he did, Klopp can say that, "Too late, buddy. Should have told your agent to get his Saudi bros. to bid well before the final hours before Transfer Deadline Day. We will discuss this next summer. See you at the Anfield vs Villa".

Whatever games the Saudis or Salah's agent is pulling, is none of Klopp's nor the club's business. We don't even need the money for this season. In fact, we can't do anything with it right now even if we did need the money cos not enuff time to replace him, IMO.

Money like that will allow us to cherry pick our future players.

We need players in defense. That's the reality. We could go and get the best defenders on paper next summer. Similiar to vvd, allison and fab.

Im not entirely convinced that diaz, nunez, gakpo, jota and elliot couldn't create a new mane-firmino-salah.

Feels like we are forcing salah into this new system anyway. Couldn't say szbo where he is and jones/ grave behind him wouldn't do us much harm.

Klopps creating a new team now anyway and we have some great talent.

Absolutely, Faithinworks.

The fans need to show some spine. It seems like they doubt Salah's loyalty, hence trying hard to sound "logical. "

All of a sudden, it feels like everyone has turned into financial experts and advisors. My word.

Red bird I think we are all allowed an opinion on this considering it’s such a massive decision to make. If we don’t sell him is he going to spit his dummy and not play 100% who knows. If we do sell at a very good price then it could help out long term as long as we do reinvest the money. It feels like we have let ourselves get backed in a corner. Eds2 has said that his agent has been offering him around again so it can’t be a shock to the club if he does go.

If the money is too good to turn down then you don’t turn it down. Mo is a legend, his legacy is secure. Liverpool can reinvest the money in another 2 or 3 players and be stronger going forward. Good luck to him, he’s served Liverpool well.

I will not speak ill of Salah, but should he ask to leave (he hasn’t, and likely won’t) the answer should be a big, fat “No”. A simple “You’re not going anywhere until next summer at the earliest” should clear all of this up and firmly tell the Saudis to take a hike for now.
As Faithinworks said, it would be irresponsible for the club to sell him now. If Saudi Arabia offered £180m to Arsenal for Saka, they would be told to do one.

No one ever on here really recognises the team dynamic of a team sport.

Correct - look at Couthino, Nunes going on strike, everything will be in the hands of the player and his representative either way.

Spot on, LoweLFC. If you yield now, the Saudis will be back for every single one of our players in the future cos they know we will break. City wouldn't sell KDB even tho, he is no longer the player he was at any price to the Saudis. Arsenal wouldn't sell Saka nor Saliba right now either.

If you yield to a bully (which is what the Saudis are) once esp. in public, the bully owns you till you show a backbone and fight back. Good luck with that at that point. The Saudis are trying to bully us into selling and many fans are falling for it. We don't sell till next summer, end of. If Salah spits his dummy out (which he won't) then, he can go train alone.

Drogie that’s simply not true. Even if Salah goes on strike (which I don’t think he will) we can still say no. He’ll have no choice but to crack on.

Now if they offer £200m and the club think it’s in their best interests to accept it then that’s different.

Either way it’s the club who has the power because he signed a contract until 2025.

Spot on, Beckers. Again, if we yield now cos Salah threw a strop, they will be back not just for Ali, VVD, Diaz, Darwin etc. And when they are done taking them all and their replacements work out or come good, they will come for them too.

There is no rule that said we must sell a player just cos the fee is astronomic. That's up to the club cos Salah signed the contract on big wages. The club decides his future. That's what Salah literally signed up for in his last contract.
