This is what Klopp built, an absolute machine, a unit. We're laughing for the future because of him. It'd take one hell of a terrible manager to bugger it all up now, we're future proof with these young lads. For them youngsters to come in with little to no experience and win a cup final? it's unheard of!

Klopp is an absolute legend, this team, their mentality, it doesn't matter who plays will always give 100%, this is what gets us the results.

An incredible cup win, should've been 2-0 but VAR was just the same old as per usual, absolute nonsense as was the ref. When you consider how many of our main players were out, all of the youngsters in, Chelseas team vs our kids, the refs terrible performance and VAR yet we got that win? it's unbelievable jeff!

That's 1/ 4 trophys done onto the next, every game is a final now. Bring on Southampton.

Believe. I think we're going to win the lot, there's nothing stopping this lot. It doesn't matter who is on the pitch and I believe we proved that today. It's the mentality and mental fortitude Klopp has instilled across the board, they're all worthy, every single player.

Let's just say hypothetically, Alonso is considering us, I mean he must be? but watching this lot he'd be rubbing his hands together, he has so much to work with it's unreal, he'd be walking into almost instant success with his management skills and the quality we have.

Very exciting times. GET IN Liverpool!

Credit must be due to FSG as well for their long-term view in building the Kirkby training centre which has resulted in these kids being able to fit seamlessly into the first team. All seven of them! We're seeing the rewards of that now.

Are FSG really 'fleecing us' when this is what the model produces? I know we're all obsessed with Chelsea's academy, but perhaps they'd do better if they sometimes played some of them instead of selling them off like cattle. Just sayin ;)

It’s nothing to do with fsg and you’ll all see it when Klopp goes.

You should fully emulate your namesake Mr Bean - you’ve already half way there as you’ve got the comedy sorted out.

We will see WDW, wasn’t no good before Klopp was it.

{Ed001's Note - that was before the academy rebuild took effect. It is not difficult to understand, it takes time for investment to take effect.}

Probably FSG’s biggest decision coming up in their Lfc tenure of who replaces Klopp.

Alonso seems to be the stand out candidate and I hope they move heaven and earth to get him.

Beyond Alonso I’m not really sure who there is.

I know FSG like their stats model and there’s a few managers out there who have won things that might appeal to them stat wise but we should 100% swerve.

Salah, brilliant post. Re: Alonso, anyone who thinks he and his fam (LFC fans thru and thru) were not watching that final must be off their rocker. He is who we need and who I want right now. My hope is FSG approach him and that he takes it to fulfill his dream of managing the club he STILL supports till this day. Here's to hoping.

Mr Bean, it’s been said a number of times that one of the great things that FSG has done (probably the best thing) for the future of the club, is the investment in putting together the training centre and bringing all the age groups together in the one place.

You probably didn’t see it, (not being a Liverpool fan and all) but after the match yesterday when he was interviewed young Bradley said it was a big challenge playing in the final but that the lads coming through the Academy have played the same way the seniors play, coming up through the U-18’s and the U-21’s, so that they knew what their role was and what they were expected to do. So, yes, we’ll see how it goes when Jurgen leaves.

An incredible game. An incredible squad. An incredible club. An incredible manager. And, what incredible fans!

If ever there was a "club win", this was it.

The "Allez, Allez" in extra time was the death knell for Chelsea. The kids literally became 10 foot tall and displayed the confidence of serial winners.

Kudos to Alex Inglethorpe and the academy coaches. I have questioned the quality of the academy in the past but boy was I wrong. There was the debate about loans vs having them around the senior squad, with the level of PL2 football being considered insufficient.

Quansah's first touch after coming on in extra time was to dribble past Nkunku. McConnell spun two Chelsea players in midfield and drove the team forward in extra time. Bobby Clark was tenancious, tidy and played a key role in the play that led to the winning corner. He also got on Chilwell's pip - which was a bonus. Jayden Danns pressed and ran Chelsea's two centrebacks ragged after coming on and almost grabbed a couple of goals. And Harvey Elliott - what a shift. 120 minutes of pure heart and courage!

The senior players too showed their character and leadership. Kelleher should have this cup named after him. What a performance. Diaz ran and ran Gusto into delerium. MacAllister and Endo put in a midfield clinic and fair play to Tsimikas who put in two fabulous corners. And lastly, the captain. The best centreback we are ever likely to see.

Incredible.

Formerly_FlyPelicanFly had Danns scored that header, not sure Wembley would have been able to withstand the absolute chaos that would have ensued, IMO.

I thought Danns best chance was the goal line scramble.

All he needed was any kind of touch and it’s in.

Ed1, does the fact the first team, U23s and U18s all play the same way indicate the club now has a "philosophy" as to how the game should be played, following the blueprint of Klopp similar to how the legacy of Cryuff pervades Barcelona? If so, does this suggest that the most likely candidate to replace Klopp is someone who has a similar playing style to him?

{Ed001's Note - yes and yes, to a degree. Style can mean different things though.}

I, like most others on here, was willing Danns to score. He was so so close. The fans would have gone mental!
His debut goal will come sooner rather than later I feel.

I’ve always said it will be tough when Klopp leaves. When some were calling for his head last season my response was be careful what you wish for.

I didn’t expect Klopp’s final season to come so soon but it will be very interesting to see how much of this desire, guts and tenacity comes from Klopp and how much of it has been permanently instilled into these players.

We have to keep hold of the leaders in this group like Virgil, Robbo, Trent and Ali as they are the ones that can bring these youngsters through along with whoever the new manager is.

We can’t let this mentality drain away and we as fans also have a huge part to play in that. Let’s remember Klopp’s words. Let’s continue to believe. Let’s make Anfield continue to be the place that nobody wants to come to.

I’m so proud to be a red. I’m so proud to be born into this community that can elevate inexperienced kids into world beaters. There’s nowhere else on this earth like Anfield and there’s no other club on this earth like Liverpool FC. Let’s keep it that way.
