Ed's I'm confused and I have read the posts. I can no longer see who we are pursuing for striker targets? With the terrible passing of Diogo, we must certainly be looking to sign one striker, assuming that Nunez does go to Napoli, that surely is 2 strikers. From what I've read and my own thoughts I doubt Isak moves this window. We don't seem to be chasing sesko or eitkie actively ( unless you tell me we are) Kane and Martinez seem like pipe dreams, although I'd love either. Both improve us. I posted slightly over a year ago about Santiago Giminez, not least because of the Ajax connection. I still think he could do a job as the second striker. However, who on earth is likely to be the first choice. I'm not after a itk answer, just your opinions please and thank you.
{Ed001's Note - the issue is Newcastle have struggled to replace Isak. He is first choice but they have lost Wilson and are struggling to attract a striker, they need two. That is why, imo as I have said a few times on here, I expect us to take a punt on a younger, less well known striker. I suggested Stassin but there are others that have been put forward on here too. That is where I think we will end up looking because an Isak deal is looking less and less likely, even though it would actually suit all parties.
Obviously suits us as we need a striker. Suits Isak as he wants the move, possibly because we are his boyhood club, but that is not certain. It also suits Newcastle as they need a big sale for PSR purposes, to allow them to invest in the team. Selling Isak would pay for 2 strikers. They don't want to lose him, but they didn't want to lose Anderson last season either.}

I’m starting to change my mind on the subject. To be fair, we won the League last season without a CF really establishing themselves as the number one choice. I still think we need a CF but we do have precedent that we can win with a ‘dominant’ or star CF. Perhaps we just wait until we get ‘the right player at the right price’.
