Wharton is a fantastic player. He'll excell under Iriolas style of football. He's absolutely needed because we needed Two top midfielders regardless of what was happening with outgoings. He's a proper playing midfielder.
What's the complaints about? Grav must be restored as 6 again and earn his outrageous wages.
That's nothing to do with Wharton. Even if you take Grav out, we needed a proper midfielder that knits it altogether really well. Wharton will be that. He's potentially top top drawer.
Plus I think we'll sign another midfielder.
I'll happily welcome Wharton.

For me, Wharton is excellent at what he does well and below average in other areas that we still need a midfielder in our system to be proficient at - pressing, defensive work, work rate, carries etc.
I'm not sure that we have space in the team to carry effectively a quarterback, but if we can make it work then cool.
Perhaps there is more to his game that we haven't seen due to Palace set-up?

With hopefully the signing of wingers and a midfielder, where does everyone see Wirtz playing? Will be interesting to see the starting 11.

Is that not the job of a coach? To coach things into his game to suit how he wants his team to play? Look at the Wignaldum of Newcastle compared to that under Klopp. Two totally different players.
