Chema Andres had a good game for Brighton yesterday i'm sure we were linked with him. Brighton paid £15mill. Why didn't we move for him in the end? Scared to take the risk of £15mill. Would have been the deals that Hughes would have done for Bournemouth! Looks like a young Rodri and will probably be worth £70mill plus next season.

Brighton played impressive, their press was miles above ours.
Some incredible approach play as well, should have scored 5

It's not about Liverpool afraid of taking a £15 million risk. There are obvious reasons why teams like Brighton and Bournemouth can buy these types of players and Liverpool can't. I think Ron posted something explaining it far better than I could a few weeks back, wages and first team opportunities etc.

In essence what Irish said, players have time at teams like Brighton.
Time to settle in.
Time to find their feet.
Time to adjust.
Fans have more patience.
At top teams players don't have that luxury. 1 bad game, gets forgiven.
2 games fans call for them to be dropped.
3 they are a flop and they should be out the door.
That's why they can take the "risk" and look at players to develop and bring on. The big boys need the final product most of the time as they have to hit the ground running without question.

Had LFC bought Andres, it would have been easy for him to come in displace one of our midfielders.
The player himself would have known that there would an opportunity for him in that midfield.
At LFC we give players time to adjust, time to find their feet, time to settle as well.

I am talking about Brighton buying young promising players and giving them a chance.
I think LFC can also buy young, promising players and can give them an opportunity as well.
Currently, there is so much opportunity for young players to stake a claim in the squad and with Iraola who is willing to work with and develop young players and give them minutes, this should be a route we should explore.

That's nonsense, I saw Rio Ngumoha getting written off last season, he was 17 years old. If a Liverpool player isn't immediately up to the required level they get written off by the fans.

We have promising young players, and they are getting a chance.
I could have sworn I just saw Koumas, Nyoni and Munoz on the pitch against Bournemouth.

Would love LFC to be able to unearth these talented players - the issue is can you imagine the meltdown if we went and bought the odd unknown player rather than spending £100m on a proven one. They wouldn't be afforded any slack when came into team "why is he been picked" etc.

Those on here star, scroll up the page and you'll see the likes of Wirtz being written off and suggestions he be let go.
We have more patience with the kids from within and from the academy. But that only goes so far for some unfortunately.
