Howdy all.

Just wondering if there's any chance that there might be changes in the coaching staff i. e defence and 'keeper.
I know that we have problems in terms of personnel, but a lot of can be put down to coaching or a lack thereof.
I have no problem with Klopp's philosophy, but I do have a problem with his lack of plan "b" through "z" if you catch my drift.
I think a better group of coaches around him would not only bolster what is already there but also provide him with said strategies for when plan "a" doesn't work.

Thankee kindly for your replies. If I get any.

Howdy Eds and all.
I'm actually quite disappointed that we didn't bring in any CBs or CDMs this window.
Surely Klopp and Co. had a few names in mind for the CB role other than he who must not be named?
All joking aside, having a single target in Van Dijk without any backup options is bewildering. Everyone knows our defence is a shambles. Klopp must see that too. So why just target the one player?
As for the CDM role, it's vital for how we play, and a good player sitting there provides - as everyone knows -protection for the CBs. I know we're well overloaded in the midfield, . but none of them can actually play in the CDM role. They "play" there but are not in the least comfortable and more often then not forget what it is their supposed to be doing in favor of bombing forward.
This window, to me, has been baffling. Stacking up on players in the attack while seemingly ignoring the sinking ship that is our defence.
I don't think we even brought in a defence coach.
My tuppence anywho.

Defence really isn't that bad. sure it's not great, but it's not bad either.6 clean sheets in the last 7 pl games. What we failed in last season was when mane was out, phil coming back from injury. but we have depth now in Ox and Salah.

RedRum for the upteenth time, Klopp does not play with a true CDM at least, not anymore so why should Klopp get a player he does not need.? Also, He likes to play with a pivot at the base of a three man midfield where all three attack, press and defend which is why he wanted Naby Keita to upgrade the dynamism there in CM. We have Can and Hendo who can play the #6 position so don't get your point, R.

Howdy Eds and fellow reds.
Do any of you think that, after all that has happened this window, Klopp will lose some of his say in future transfer dealings?
And would I be close to the mark in saying that if Bayern were to begin looking for a new manager soon, Klopp would not turn a blind eye to the opportunity?
I appreciate any and all responses in an advance.

He's not going to lose his say, he's the manager after all. It's nothing to do with the players identified it's the way things have been gone abouts. I would expect someone to have a word with him along the lines of "Juergen, 'we love your infectious and charismatic personality, but when it comes to transfers it's best you don't get involved until we give you the all clear". As for Bayern, I'm sure he wants to manage a club where players don't seem to be cherry picked from and there ain't many of those clubs around.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 16:41:40
I doubt he'll go to Bayern as they are BVB's rivals, he also has a special something in there for BVB. He wasn't happy when the likes of Gotze and Lweandowski left for Bayern so I doubt he'd do that imo. Maybe German national team coach when Lowe leaves?

{Ed025's Note - he will go to bayern ted, he will go in 2018/19 what ever happens at liverpool..

3.) 08 Aug 2017 18:27:10
Per Ed02, He wanted to go to Bayern from the word go.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 22:15:23
So you're saying this coming season will be his last with LFC no matter what happens ed?

{Ed025's Note - its likely i would suggest mate..

Howdy.
First off, thanks for taking the time out of your day to reply to our queries. I'd say some days are more taxing than others.
Just one question Eds. With Dan Levy saying that such spending as we've seen this year being unsustainable in the long run, and with certain accountancy firms estimating the billion pound mark to be breached by the end of the window, do you think that UEFA or maybe even FIFA might take some sort of action to curb such ridiculous spending?
Spending close to €180 million on a relatively unproven kid from France - for example - is nuts in my opinion, and might do more damage than some may realize down the line, not only to the transfer market but to the kid himself.
Any opinions on the matter will be much appreciated.

{Ed002's Note - They are in a difficult position because only the EPL and a few other sides can afford these sort of sums of money - and that is down to media money more than anything else. Even the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have to sell to buy and all are suffering because of FFP on wages. We have to separate the few players worth extreme amounts of money from anything that is done to curb spending as they have to be dealt with as exceptions to FFP. Levy is correct that it cannot be sustained in the longer term and this will likely give a boost to a pan European breakaway (which is on the just published agenda for August 24). But, in all honesty, that is still some years away and folks need to live with the imbalences across the game. FIFA and UEFA would like it under control but they are far from out of the woods with previous issues and a couple of things are about to come back and bite them on the ass.}

Thanks Ed.
I honestly believe that somewhere down the line all of this is going to comeback to haunt everyone involved, and that the fans will be feeling a bit -or far - lighter in the pocket as a result of whatever happens.

Tired of seeing these Keita/ VvD links. The Eds have explained the situations surrounding both repeatedly and - in my opinion - with infinite patience. There is absolutely no reason to annoy them any further by asking questions that can easily be answered via the search function.
Or, for those not bothered: Both are unavailable.
Just one question from me: what other positions are we looking to strengthen? All the rumors and shenanigans seem to be deflecting away from what's important, i. e building a squad that can challenge on all fronts next season.

Andrew Robertson - Left Back. Sounds familiar?

2.) 08 Jul 2017 23:12:01
Couldn't agree more mate, head doing isn't it?

To me we need a LB more then anything else and maybe a RB. I sincerely thought we'd of got a LB first in, but we seem to be having issues doing so. Im sure loads is going on in the background, unless ed1, ed2 or liverpool state we have signed somebody I won't believe it.

3.) 08 Jul 2017 23:12:28
Have to agree with redrum. please let the vvd and keita questions go. for the love of god.

4.) 08 Jul 2017 23:39:34
Don't know why you guys are taking the Eds word as gospel, they don't know everything and have got things wrong in the past and will in the future.

5.) 09 Jul 2017 00:21:23
I wouldn't say they get it wrong, they tell us what the situation is at the time of the question. 2 years ago, if they said Liverpool have no interest in solanke wouldn't make them wrong now would it.

6.) 09 Jul 2017 00:44:53
My gut feeling is that we will definitely sign either vvd or Keita or both. We are all panicking but player power is definitely going to be an influence here.

7.) 09 Jul 2017 01:24:30
Yeah but that situation isn't always correct, Fencey, and even Macca has got it wrong before. I'm not bashing the eds they know a great deal other than transfers and I just think that everyone accepting their word 100% is stupid.

8.) 09 Jul 2017 07:49:55
It's all well and good saying that the eds don't always get it right. But what reason or evidence do you have to believe they are wrong about VVD or Keita? Unless you have a solid source telling you contrary info, then you have no reason to doubt.

My guess is you're just hoping they're wrong.
